hey servite, you think, we had such a light schedule MV played 4 of these teams.

  • matt says:

who writes this drivel? MV is ranked still? they are not in the playoffs anymore. and where is Servite? we probably won’t be ranked even after we beat edison.

  • UHWarrior says:

If Servite wins, it will throw a monkey wrench into whose going to represent the Open Div. in the Southern Section. If so, Crenshaw will go, that is if they demolish Narbonne as predicted. However, if Edison wins they not only deserve to represent So. Cal. they should be ranked No. 1 in the state and be the favorite to win.

If Servite wins, they’ll probably battle Oceanside or Vista Murrieta to play in the Div I bowl. VM should go since they would be undefeated if they win out. However, Edison would also be eligible for the DIV I bowl and may go because of strength of schedule.

For Div II Westlake should go due to being undefeated and strength of schedule.

I would love to see an OC team represent the So. Cal section in two of the top three bowls. See you all in Carson.

  • no name says:

Servite should be ranked right under Edison but i think Edison will win 32-21…… and can edison and oaks christian play eachother??

  • stirthepot says:

If you brilliant H.S. football aficionados would do your homework, you would realize that Servite dose not qualify for the Div. I bowl game because of enrollment limitations. They could, however, face Rocklin in the Div. II game if all the stars and planets align just right. To answer the rest of your question please note that the rankings shown above are Div. I only. Look under other posting for the other Div. rankings. CREDO

P.S. Credo in Latin means “I believe”, the full motto is “credo ut inteligam” which means “I believe so that I may understand”. it is not meant as chest-thumping or as an insult to other schools, it is simply an affirmation of our catholic faith

  • Youknow says:

Edison is gunna kill servite just like earlier this season

    44-3

  • keeping it real says:

yeah but in D2 you have one big boy in Crenshaw. Servite HAD the toughest schedule but at the end of the season edison’s schedule proved to be tougher.

  • poppaknows says:

y is servite considered a div 2 school, and plays in div 1 semifinals???

  • stirthepot says:

Servite and Crenshaw are both considered Division 2 schools only for State Bowl brackets by C.I. F. I believe the Division 1 cutoff is 1850 students by the previous year’s enrollment. Servite actually has about 900 students but since it is an all boys school that number gets doubled. Crenshaw has 2038 according to info at calpreps.com so there must be other factor since thats above the limit. CREDO!

  • stirthepot says:

Sorry, here are the numbers straight out of the C.I.F. handbook.

    Divisional Classifications
The CIF State Football Championship Bowl Games will be conducted in five (5) divisions. CIF
Section Commissioners will be responsible for ensuring that schools entering the championships meet
    the following CBEDS enrollment criteria:
Open Division The top team from the north will play the top team
from the south, regardless of school enrollment.
    North Schools South Schools
Division I 1,851 and above 2400 and above
    Division II 1,251 – 1,850 1,101 – 2,399
Division III 1,250 and below* 1,100 and below*
Small School Division 400 and below** 500 and below**
    * All schools, including those that fall within the Small School Division enrollment parameters, will be eligible to be selected to play in the Division III game.
** Only schools that fall on or below the enrollment parameters will be eligible to be selected

  • UHWarrior says:

So Stirthepot- Servite can play in the division I championship. I guess you did your homework. It seems that enrollments don’t seem to matter to the CIF officials, what matters is CIF Division championships. Schools like Chaparel, or Vista Murrietta in the Inland empire, or teams like Charter Oak, and even La Habra all have student bodies that have well above required student body population to play for the DIV I state championship. Does the CIF ever pick teams out of the PAC-5, and the City Section, to represent So. Cal. not likely. Corona Centenial ended up playing for Div I state championship last year because they were ranked no. 2 in the country in a couple of national polls. It would have been ridiculous if the CIF left them out. But they would have because they are so biased towards the OC and the City teams. They have every right to be, but they need to let some other teams play for a state championship as well. Oaks Christian, Chaparel? Maybe ….just maybe.

    • The Guild says:

Warrior, after losing at home to a Servite team that had just come off a devastating loss to Edison, Chaparral has no chance at a state playoff.
