Football video: Quezada’s 300 yards carry La Habra over Cypress

December 6th, 2009, 1:41 am · · posted by

football_iconWe have a possible dynasty in the making. Forget the Lakers, Yankees and Patriots, because a budding dynasty is growing in Orange County.

The La Habra is gunning for its fifth CIF title this decade and its third straight, as La Habra defeated Cypress, 35-21, in the Southwest semifinals.

The Highlanders’ Josh Quezada scored four touchdowns, rushing for 300 yards, while the defense held Cypress to only seven points in the second half.

Cypress coach Ray Fenton has turned Cypress into a championship-caliber team, but he was clearly distraught after the game.

He sat in a dark corner near the south end zone, staring at his dejected team. Being on the sidelines, I could tell that the refs were getting to Fenton. He even ran halfway across the field at halftime to inform the officials that La Habra was late to arrive, and should be flagged for a 15-yard penalty.

Great Game! Bring on Trabuco Hills!

  • CARLOS ARIAS says:

“or Anybody else that gets in their Scottish way.” HaHaHa!

  • Blueandwhite says:

Josh Quezada is the best back in the conference, end of story. He has shown that over the last 3 years (4 yr letterman). Trabuco is very very good but they have not faced an offense like La Habra. Coach Mazzotta has the team firing on all cylinders. Trust me when I say this, “I would not bet against the best back and the best coach in the conference. La Habra will win in a close one.

  • Sir William Wallace says:

what a game, but the fun part was listenin to all the cypress fans walk out spouting off how la habra is overrated! what a bunch of babies! and please dont come on here and make up lame excuses!

    • Fred says:

How much did the booster pay the reffs. Your boys were good but you people act like ur alabama or florida next year ur going 2 be a regular team no back and that crapy field needs some work. you would think it was the ROSE BOWL we were going 2 play at and all the bragging about the best food in O.C NOTHING SPECIAL I think you guys need another HOBBY.

      • LHFanFromChino says:

Wnat some cheese to go with your WHINE.

      • the dish says:

Fred, how about you get another hobby. Obviously you were on the losing side, so what would one expect from you. Yeah, the food ain’t that great when you are used to sour grapes. Go chest bump a coach from your school-wait, you may not be able to, they aren’t playing any more. La Habra has had so many touchdowns called back due to bad calls, you wouldn’t even know, so don’t even go the we paid the refs route. Maybe next year.

  • Innocent bystander says:

Ray Fenton has every right to be upset. That was- by far -the worse officiated game I have ever witnessed. The call in question happened as the 1st half was winding down; with 20 plus seconds left to go, Jarred Cohen caught a pass and stepped out-of-bounds at La Habra’s 35. The officials let the clock run out.
It’s questionable whether Cypress would have scored, but we will never know. That one call was just the tip of the iceberg, on how one-sided the game was actually called. The CIF needs to review the tapes and at very least reprimand the officials for being so heavily slanted La Habra’s way.

    • mmcya says:

How about the roughing the kicker penalty 30 yards off the line of scrimmage game changer.Cyp would have had the ball on the L.H 20 with a possible 2 T.D lead.

12th man reared his head in the middle of the 3rd.

      • PJ says:

Before you complain about the roughing call on the punt you better learn the rules. High School ball does not have the same rule that college has. You can not hit the kicker even on a broken play like that one.

        • mmcya says:

That call was terrible anyone who watches any football could see that.
He was a runner not a kicker.

      • dapgachef says:

This explains why roughing the kicker was the correct call. Here is the official explanation of the rule.

Roughing the Kicker-When an errant snap occurs and the potential punter starts running, or when a punter purposely runs into the sidezone and the defense is unsure of his intention to kick or run, we will call running into/roughing the kicker much like we would call roughing the passer; a certain amount of contact may be allowed, but once the defender knows that a kick has been made, he must stop his charge. When a punter merely drops/muffs the snap and immediately picks it up and punts, he still has the same protection as if he never dropped the snap, and the defense can not touch him (unless the defense has partially blocked/tipped the kick-realize even in this case, contact can not be deliberate or a personal foul).

LH kicker clearly was hit after he kicked the ball. Your complaint is irrelevant , and invalid…please do not use the roughing the kicker call any longer as an excuse for the loss.
        Thank you.

        • MMCYA says:

The roughing penalty was a desrectionary call up to the ref to decide and his decision was bad.The only reason everyone is focused on it is because it was the turning point in a great game played by both sides.

Nobody is talking about the delay of game call on a fumble where the player didn’t hear the whistle or the personal foul on the tackle in the end zone.If you watch the highlights above you can see that tackle. That’s because those didn’t affect the outcome of the game. The roughing penalty did and it was the refs call .

      • whatshisname says:

yor layesy blog mentions deciding out come of game after roughing the kicker. well tell me what would the outcome have been, does anybody have that power. for all you know you might have fumbled ,or got negative yards, threw a pick, maybe you would have kicked a field goal, but in best case scenario you still lose by a TD, get over it.

      • the dish says:

mmcya, read the rule, you still can’t drill the guy after he has kicked. How about your team just go out and play a whole game better, like La Habra did, then cry. If ‘if’ were a skiff, we would all go rowing, maybe next year you can try again.

  • Congradulations Highlanders! LH v TH….can’t get any better than that. Two great programs with many of the same attributes.

    • LHFAGGOTS says:

the call was not ruffing the kicker, because the kicker started running…. which makes him legal to hit cuz that pretty much turns him into a runner so have fun getting smashed by trubuco faggots

      • ENCORE says:

Only a “Ruffing” call (While the Kicker is in his Position to place a foot on the ball) you can spot-up run and still kick. If the punter was running and got tackeled, “No Call”, if he stopped and attempted a kick after running with the ball a “Ruffing” can be called. SO how was it??????? I’ll ket U Guyz decide> G.G. Champs

  • HSFOOTBALLFAN says:

TO BLEEDBLUE YOUR TEAM DID A GREAT JOB ON WILKERSON,BUT WE ARE NOT TUSTIN,OUR COACH DOES NOT PLAY HIS PLAYERS BOTH WAYS.WE CAN RUN,PASS AND PLAY D.TRUE YOUR TEAM IS ON A ROLL AND ITS A FINE PROGRAM NO DOUBT ,BUT LA HABRA KNOWS A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT BEING ON A ROLL.HIGHLANDER FANS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT GAME AND VICTORY. SANDOVAL YOU’RE AWESOME ON “D”! GO HIGHLANDERS!

  • just a fan says:

Line six fans, You proved my point once again. Cypress fans have no class. You cant even loose with dignity. Your team played a good game but got beat, Your team can never be winners cause the fans wont let them. Enjoy watching tv next saturday while we are at angel stadium.

  • man says:

    cypress enjoy and ealry xmas…!!!

  • bigfbfan says:

Cypress fans, how can you guys really say the refs were one sided for la habra. There were calls against La Habra that were very questionable in you favor. As far as the lights go, they turn lights off at the same point every home game so dont feel like you guys were THAT special.

  • Freddy and line six…Motivation alone does not win semi-final games. Your problem with the refs is in a big part the blame of your coaching staff. Your very talented players would have been better served if your coaches would have spent more time directing them and less energy trying to pump them up with high fives and chest bumps. When players see highly emotional leaders, their response leads to fouls; hence, “Line Six” and other superficial motivators don’t work in the big games.
If you spent any time watching La Habra football, you would see that the coaches are constantly ” teaching” the boys throughout any given game.
La Habra has had their share of penalties this year. They even had some last night, but the game was not decided by the refs. Your “O” and “D” lines were showing sings of fatilgue by the middle of the third quarter. It has taken a long time for La Habra to earn it’s respect in the county. If your program progresses as it looks like it could with your new head coach, you will be back in it in the near future.

PS You miss the point of what the “Pit” is. HSFBF has it right. It is the environment as a whole that makes the “Pit” what it is. One blogger once made a big deal about the food, so lighten up FRED…it ain’t about the food!

  • UHWarrior says:

The refs made questionable calls all night going both ways. It was Cypress that called the “phantom” timeout when they didn’t have any left, not LH, they still had two remaining. The roughing the kicker call late in the 3Q was right. The refs got that one right. It doesn’t matter if the snap is fumbled, if the kicker still kicks it, once the ball leave his foot you cannot slam him into the turf. It’s called “roughing the kicker”. If Cypress was in the act of blocking the kick and got a piece of it then that’s a different story, but they hammered a guy who didn’t have the ball! You are right it was a momentum changer, but the call was correct. Cypress get over it! You guys played a great game.

    • mmcya says:

The kicker was running with the ball before he kicked it not the same as a punt.

      • UHwarrior says:

It’s the same as a QB rolling out, once he throws it, you cannot hit him or tackle him, he doesn’t have the ball any more. The LH kicker picked up a bad snap, rolled out to get away from the rush, then kicked it. Then Cypress hammered him. Roughing the kicker- What is it you don’t understand?

  • HSFOOTBALLFAN says:

Hey Line six. Win or lose they always turn off the lights early, Fullerton District rule.Sorry the whole LH community turned off the lights.Like Quezada, AK is a class act and so are many of Cypress and La Habra fans, so your wrong to throw a blanket over all the LH community. You sound very bitter and even more immature. Win or lose your darn right were still going to live in LH and PROUD of it,as far as our stadium goes its still better than your on campus venue. P.S. after you get done crying maybe you can go to our game sat and perform that dance your coaches did at halftime, never mind we just might end up bitter and whinny like you.

  • Tom says:

My nephew plays for La Habra and I’ve been going to the games since last year when he started playing on Varsity. I was also at last nights game. Here’s my take on the whole back and forth with the ref and class or lack of class of the fans.

As for the refs, I have to admit there was some questionable calls last night. The passing interferance that gave La Habra a first down. The call was questionable but the thing that bothered me was how late the ref threw the flag. The official that threw the flag was the sideline official who was standing in front of coach Mo. The ball was thrown down the middle of the field and the nearest official to the play did not throw the flag. It seemed as though the sideline official threw the flag after coach Mo and the rest of La Habra sideline gave him an ear full. To me that’s not right. If you’re going to throw the flag, then throw it…don’t wait and hesitate to throw it. Going to many La Habra games, I have seen so many bogus calls go against La Habra especially all those holding calls when Quezada bust long runs. I don’t believe in any conspiracy theories but I do think the level of officiating sucks and it needs to improve especially in important games such as the one last night.

Now as far as class or lack of class regarding the fans, I can’t speak for Cypress fans as I did not have any interactions with them. I do however feel that there is some level of maturity that needs to be shown by some of our La Habra fans. Maybe all winnings the past few years have brought out some really immature band wagoners. I have to repeatedly ask myself who the heck are some of these adults that act like this at a kids games. Adults cussing and shouting stuff that should not be when around kids. Do some of these idiots even have kids who go to La Habra? The whole situation with the cops yesterday having to go into the stands was just another incident that make me feel ashamed of the La Habra crowds. Just a few weeks ago, there was some jerk yelling and cussing at an old man who forgot to take his hat off during the national anthem. The old man apologized but the guy kept going on and on causing a huge scene. La Habra fans…please show our kids better and set a better examples of how adults should be conducting ourselves.

    • stu pidasso says:

      Tom,
You are absolutely right on the money!!!!!!!! Some “alot” of the adults that attend the games need a reality check, these are young men on the field.I played H.S. sports like alot of the posters on the site, I know the students on and off the field see and hear what is being yelled from the stands from some of these uneducated disrespectable baffoons, it really shows how low a fans can get, young children, grandparents, aunts and uncles. These Fans in the stands using threatening remarks to the teams and refs.I believe in the community support, but this kind of conduct is pretty amazing, this high school football its an elective they are student atheletes not paid, and you know these young men are like sponges they soak up everything, it explains why some of them get themselves in trouble with the D.A.

    • MMCYA says:

Yes the calls seemed to take the game away from both sides and thats a shame when you get to this level of play.

I was standing on the Cypress side in the far corner of the end zone and there were La Habra fans standing on the outside of the fence in the field not in the stadium, we had to listen to them all night .I wanted to give them the 8 bucks to get in so I didn’t have to here it but there were to many of them.It kind felt like a Raider game back there.

When my wife and I left fans on the La Habra side sitting in the top of the bleachers took the time to turn around and heckle us.Although it may be a little tacky its football and fans are fans.

  • Gurleygirl says:

Open your eye’s the La Habra Police had to stand near some not looking dress kids to make sure they were incontrol.

  • badlands says:

First of all I thought it was avery hard fought game both sides Batteled all night long. I went to the game beacuse I knew two of the best backs in the county were playing. As far as the officiating was concerned without question bad….. But i would estimate the official who threw the most flags was the official on the cypress side I began to notice it during the second qtr. I think the cypress coach was working him pretty good including the late flag on the fake punt that la habra connected on before the most crucial play of the game on the bad snap roughing the kicker call. I actually called a couple of coaches to clarify the rule and basically it comes downto a judgement call. It happened 20 yards away from any of the lahabra coaches, so I believe the white cap acted alone…… The reality is regardless of the officials becoming the focus, Quezada dominated the game late, and kept lahabra close. Their defense began to stop AK and his biggest run of the second half came on about a 45yard run after la habra went up by two touchdowns. Both teams were very well coached and in games with teams that match up well it will always come down to acouple of different plays. I thought Cypress was handing it to la habra for about 2.5 qtrs but eventually wore out. but to disrespect the community of La Habra and whine about bad officiating, makes you look like sore losers maybe you are??? Welcome to high school football bad officiating occurs all the time but typically it is never 1 thing that cost your team the WHOLE football game. Maybe allowing the officiating to take your focus away from the game was your biggest fumble of the evening…. Congratulations to both teams for representing your community well

  • nothing but the facts says:

come on LINE SIX are you serious! the officiating was terrible on both sides! the call was the right call. even with the so called bad call La habra was down 7 points and once the call was made La Habra still had to drive the ball 60 yards to the endzone! was it the reffs fault your deffense couldnt stop La habra on that 60yrd drive right after that call?? hmmmm???….. for your information good or bad officiating is part of the game! Its how you deal with the calls that controll the outcome of the game! Instead of ranting and raving over the bad calls for another 2 qrts get your team and your self back in focus and stop the 60 yard drive right there after and win the football game!!! Instead of crying for the rest of the game and probaly for the rest of the year! Better yet let me ask you this!!! did the officials control Quezada rushing for over 300 yards with 4 TD’s????? I didnt think so!!! the kids a beast and was able to overcome all the diversity that night and stomp all over Cypress and bring home a victory! throw all the stats out the door! Quezada said it him self ” it doesnt matter how many yards i have at the end of the seaon, all that matters is that my team and i are in the CIF finals playing for a championship” Both Wilkerson and A.M had there oppurtunities to take there team to the finals! Wilkerson had the oppurtunity Being down by 3 points with 4:50 left on the clock in the 4th qrtr and went 4 and out on there final drive! even with the so called bad call Muhammad still had a 7 point lead with 2 qrtrs left and had every oppurtunity to put the nail in the coffin and the ball in the endzone and close the door on LH but also failed to do so!
The Bottom line is The best Running Back in the league is Playing in the CIF finals for the 3rd year in a row! Both running backs are absolutley Sick and will leave there mark no doubt But the “Juice ” Just might be wearing his third ring! So line six stop blaming the Reffs for your loss! there is actually only one thing to blame for your loss to La habra and he wears the number 2 on his jersy and his name is Joshua Quezada and thats nothing but the facts!
P.S I think you better watch the game on TV and not show up to Anahiem Stadium on the 12th!!! cuz guess what???? there will be over 10,000 classles people from the comunity from La Habra rooting for there team while you will be still crying and complaining about how your teams not there! sleep on that while this La Habra citizen goes and dreams about the chance for our 6th ring!

  • Now that the Clan has moved to the finals after disposing of Cypress in a manner similar to the game with Tustin last year, we see that Trabuco Hills defeated the wounded wing offense of the Tillers for the chance to play in the finals. I thank them for that. La Habra is spared a rerun of last years game.

I had to look up Trabuco on the map, because I had never heard of it. Turns out I used to ride horses there when it was known as El Toro. I guess the developers that turned those lovely hills into built on the cheap houses without infrastructure needed a fancy name so gullible buyers did not know they were spending big dollars to live in a place called “The Bull.”

I am happy that the finals will be held in Anaheim Stadium again this year. It is much closer to El Toro so the ride home on the “unhappy” bus will not be so long for the Mustangs. La habra has a 4H program, and I am sure some of the Clan will know how to build a corral to contain those mustangs, and tame them on the field.

I wish the best of luck to the players of both teams. They all have worked very hard to play in this game.

    Go La Habra!

  • LINE SIX says:

First of all there’s two L6′s here. There’s Line Six, who is different from LINE SIX. So don’t get me confused with the other one’s opinions. Second of all not gonna talk about the officiating calls. We all know how Cyp fan’s feel about that. However a couple things just don’t sit right with me. Such as when one of the referee’s HUGS Quezada after the game. The lights in the alley from the way to the visitor locker room are on when Cypress arrives then are off when we head out on the field. An alley with curbs and handrails. The Timekeepers CONSISTENTLY shaving off seconds the entire game. Has the clock been that poor all year or has Cypress just been the only team to point it out? The fumble where 26 picked it up no one heard a whistle. I was standing on the Cyp sideline and heard nothing even resembling a whistle. And the if the lights going out were a FUHSD rule, then why did the lights only on the half of the field where Cypress was saying goodbye to their Seniors turn off, While the other half continued to stay on well after.

And we Cypress fans are getting so fired up about the officiating because we have actually been screwed the refs ON PURPOSE TWICE this year. Against University, to which we sent in film to Head of Officiating and they agreed we got shafted. And against Kennedy, in which we had the SAME crew, and the SAME result. Little did that crew know that the Head of Officials was at the game to see if we in fact had a legit claim. After the game he talked to Fenton and said there were 6-7 calls that were blatantly wrong. All in Kennedy’s favor. So forgive us if we’re a little sensitive when it comes to a bunch of calls all seemingly going against us. LH had 3 penalties all night. Cypress had something around 15. You don’t make it to the Semifinals with 15 penalties a game. It just doesn’t happen.

That being said. Quezada is truly a dude. He wore on us in the 4th quarter. You could see it. However these teams were practically clones of each other on the field. Cypress just didn’t have enough gas in the tank when it came down to the last minutes. Look for a beefed up schedule next year for the Cents. Definatly need a few more tests than we had this year. Congrats to LH.

  • whatshisname says:

to h/s footballmorales fan, ditto great take. I believe I read a cypress blog earlier in year calling juice quesadilla, class acts huh! I wonder what thet call their pretty good QB whos name is ortiz.

  • It looks like a coach finally pissed off the officials more than Mazoda this week.
I doubt if any program in SW conference has been penalized more yards than LH. Probably a dozen or more TD’s were called back. Some from late flags and sometimes flags thrown far away from the field of play. Point being, you complain and move on. If you choose to harass your line official, you take the risk of petty calls. Don’t like it,but I have watched it happen all year long following LH football.
Cypress players were warriors, but it is hard to win when you are in a close match-up and have too many players on both sides of the ball and special teams.
I have no doubt that Fenton will develop this program to it’s fullest potential in the coming years.
I do not like fans that disrespect the officials or visiting fans. I particularly dislike fans calling out and putting down players on either side. However, these fans are the exception and like Cypress followers, most of LH fans are respecful and there to support their team.
Gurlegirl…As a caucasian fan, I am offended by your “Guadlahabra” derogatory remark. I am sure many Cypress fans are equally appaulled!
Trabuco Hills and La Habra! You couldn’t ask for a better match-up. The teams mirror each other in many ways. If you follow high school football, this is a game to see. Go get them Highlanders!!!!

    • Line 6 says:

stop being so sensitive!! its a joke for goodness sake. guadalahabra…its funny. just like when people call is cypre$$…we dont necessarily like it very much, but we laugh it off and realize that they are only joking.

  • UHwarrior says:

dapgachef- Thanks for clarifying what I said earlier. Once the ball leaves the kickers foot, or the quarterbacks hands in a passing situations both players are off limits. Sure incidental contact is allowed but not a big hit. Cypress tackled our kicker after he kicked it. Yes, he was running at one point the ball was already in the air, when he was hit.

Cypress has a great program, I’m sure they’ll be in the playoffs next year as well.

As for the PIT, best place to watch HS football. Great home field advantage for the CLAN, “house of horrors” for the visitors.

  • BigBose says:

This is a tough subject to comment on because I am a Line Six follower, but bottom line guys we have to let it go. I mean it is what it is, Saturday night can never come back to us. As far as it goes we should look at the positives this season. We had AK demolish Saumur’s Season TD Record and Blaise Bryant’s Rushing Records. I mean we have not lost an Empire League game since early October 2007 and we are back to back champs. We may not be back next year but we are sure to reload in the next couple of years. Good Luck La Habra and Good Luck Trabuco you guys better strap up because this will be a barn burner

  • ocsleeper says:

I’m wondering if most of you especially La Habra fans who post here have kids currently going to La Habra. Because if you don’t, then I’m really disturb how grown adults can be so into a sport that kids play.

    • the dish says:

Hey ocsleeper, ever heard of alumni? What difference does it make that some folks may not have kids currently attending La Habra? There is tradition there, and the support shown to the program from people who have had kids attend is tremendous. I live in Anaheim, have a nephew by marriage playing, and though I have no ‘kids’ going there, I still take great pride in the fact that there are parents of kids long graduated that still attend and support the program-unlike some one-and-done folks that only show any loyalty once their kids are done. Though I live outside the community, the spirit of closeness that is the La Habra Clan shows through at every game, not just home games. If you knew any sense of that, you would not have made the comments you did.

      • ocsleeper says:

I’ve been attending every La Habra games for the past few years because like you, I have relatives by marriage playing so I come to show support. What I was referring to and how others such as the posting by Tom pointed out is regarding how some of the adult elements of the La Habra fans act and take this games played by kids way too seriously. Just walk around and see how some of these fans act. Just like one previous posters have said, going to La Habra games is getting to be like watching a Raiders game by the way some of the fans are.

Going to the restrooms you hear 40 something year old men talk about how “we totally kicked the other teams a$$” like they were the ones out on the field playing. How many times have you seen problems in the stands with rowdy fans where the La Habra PD had to intervene? I’ve seen my shares of it and on Saturday, there were two incidents in the stands that la Habra PD had to get involved in. One I know for sure dealt with adults.

I will continue rooting for La Habra but I can tell you this. If it takes them to lose for some of you who take high school sports way too seriously, then it just might be best if TH comes out on top this coming Saturday. Because my fear is some of the kids on the field and on the stands will pick up on some the actions of the adults. I was on the 50 yard line this past saturday. When the cops had to go up in the stands, half of the kids on La Habras side line turned their head and focused that and not the games. Just think about what our kids are thinking when they see this happen?

  • UHwarrior says:

Hey Whathisname- Don’t forget that LH’s JV and Freshman teams went undefeated this year also, so there are plenty of horses in the stables for the Highlanders for a few more years.

  • lhfan says:

regardless of refs no anser for quezada he is player of the year no doubf will be sad sat he was fun to watch if you look at common opp sc 38 34 lh revenge is factor but lh has seen the stage look for josh to close out game

  • UHwarrior says:

Wow, after reading some of the Cypress Fans comments, you guys are poor losers. I attended a couple of Cypress games this year and I thought you were very gracious hosts and great fans. But, I guess that’s only when you’re winning.

I like fans that are passionate about their team, but you guys are ridiculous.

  • h.s.fan says:

Great game!!!!! Cypress needed to make the plays they had a chance to. Cohen had the interception before the bad ref call on the punter. cypress had another chance on a fumbled punt return. When opportunity knocks you have to take it. It was a pleasure to watch two outstanding running backs. Cody, La Mirada says come home. Please do not let that officiating team work another playoff game.

  • Bandmamma says:

I would have liked to hear our band at the game. The cheerleaders were lacking “something” on Saturday evening.
Our band was forced to sit on the grass where they could not be heard, and yet, the Cypress band got to sit in the stands and take up space. The cheerleaders definately have more spunk with music behind them.
One more thing, if Cypress wants to impress me as a quality football team that has integrity, then it needs a new kickoff kicker. The crappy kicks he made to La Habra was dirty pool and I am glad that La Habra finally got their act together in the second half to beat the crap out of them.

  • HSFOOTBALLFAN says:

Line six you just don’t get it,any time its used in a blog it should be erased why not La Habra conquistadores, please show more respect.Win or lose I hope LH can play Cypress next year. Coach Fenton and his staff do a great job, and it would be another great game, you can bet coach Mazzotta, and staff will be ready

  • Line Six says:

Yeah we won league on all levels too, so we’re not impressed. The refs screwed us over many times…was it the difference in the game? YOU BET IT WAS. Josh Quezada is a class act…I wish I could say that for the whole La Habra community. You guys are absolutely classless. When we were in the middle of our tradition as we say goodbye to our seniors, you guys turned the stadium lights off on us. CLASSLESS. And by the way…you guys talk about the best fans in the county…not impressed. And that stadium was falling apart. And…win or lose next week…you still have to live in La Habra. LIne six…we’ll be back next year.

  • Fred says:

You guys were good but not all that. But next year you’ll wont be as good like i said earlier no back you know he carried you all the props to him but you guys remind me of USC talking all kinds of crap of the BCS. the thing with that is the rest of the PAC catches up look at USC this year they took a beat down this year you people to zip it and enjoy your wins i always see your blgs on oc varsity an its always the same, were the best, no one can touch us oh wait wait until you come into the PIT give me brake next season your a 500 team.

  • PJ says:

Hey line we have listened to you all season, so don’t go out like that. Cypress played their hearts out and came up short. You can blame the refs, the stadium, the lights and the fans but they do not play the game. I heard many Cypress fans yelling things that should not be yelled at the game. I stood by and saw Cypress parents approach the refs at half time and voice their complaints. I then heard a Cypress parent yell that he was going to “Follow” the refs at the end of the game. What the heck does that mean. Your team came out flat for the start of the second half and that set the tempo for the rest of the game. Congrats to a great season Cypress.

When a punter merely drops/muffs the snap and immediately picks it up and punts, he still has the same protection as if he never dropped the snap, and the defense can not touch him (unless the defense has partially blocked/tipped the kick-realize even in this case, contact can not be deliberate or a personal foul).

fred I am so honored that you would mention us in the same light as my beloved trojans,by the way they will be back. Im sure they siad the same as you are in 07 when we lost morales ,jason davis and alvarez. I bet they siad it after last year ,in fact I kanow because thats all that some of the lhhs supposedly faithful were saying, were not as good without hillman, nygren and arteaga. well you no what, we reload not rebuil and not much to rebuild next year. oline all underclassmen coming back for more, qb most likely 1st team all cif and only better next year as senior. #7 super soph infact a stable of recievers other teams would love to have, 2 stud lb returning and peppard sparling and baca all returning for moreso it shows your not just classless your clueless.

  • LINE SIX says:

I’m not going to read all of that because you OBVIOUSLY missed my point. That crew from the Uni and Kennedy games were DELIBERATLY trying to change the outcome of the game. But once again you’re right and I’m just whining. Who am I to want to have a fair shot at winning a game right? And no matter what I say or how many facts I provide you’ll always have a rebuttal of ‘quit whining blah blah blah’. Simply trying to explain why we are so irked about what seemed like lopsided officiating. But I forgot LH nor its refs can do no wrong. La Habra Football, America’s team.

  • whatshisname says:

maybe if you took the time to read it youd have a clue but then again you dont have a clear and open mind right now so I understand.even if you had the best refs in the nfl youd still be unhappy because of out come of game. regardless of officiating, and by the way would you want to play without them, youwerent going to stop quesada were you. nobody can, if you knew any thing about him hes a unique , righteous human being and if there was any prove for unbelievers to believe in a creator who blesses the righteous its in this youngman. so when you come out of your line six depression spend 8 or 10 bucks and come out and witness more of the best at anahiem stadium at 2pm see ya
