Calhoun’s Games to Watch: Garden Grove vs. Norwalk

This week’s top football matchups:
Garden Grove (12-0) vs. Norwalk (11-1)
Saturday, 7 p.m. at Excelsior Adult School
Outlook: The top-seeded Argonauts hit the road for their semifinal tilt against the fourth-seeded Lancers. It figures to be quite a challenge.
Norwalk, the second-place finisher from the Suburban League, has scored 63 and 64 points in the first two playoff games.
The Lancers and their double-wing offense have been chewing up yards all season. There are three rushers who have topped 1,000 yards. Elijhaa Penny leads the way with 1,339 yards and 20 touchdowns. Adrian Gonzales has rushed for 1,297 yards and 17 touchdowns, and Billy Moore enters with 1,110 yards and 15 touchdowns.
That’s a lot for any team to have to deal with.
Garden Grove defeated Bellflower (41-13) and Beckman (38-21) to advance.
Sean Young has been at the center of everything this season. He leads the team in rushing (1,346 yards) and has passed for 1,447 yards. He has scored a total of 32 touchdowns. He is averaging 112 rushing and 120 passing yards a game.
What will it take to send the Argonauts to the finals?
The teams met in last year’s playoffs with Norwalk rushing for 435 yards in a 38-6 victory.

THERE IS NOT MUCH TO SAY ABOUT NORWALK BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN THEM PLAY THIS YEAR…ON PAPER THEY LOOK LIKE A GREAT TEAM………..YES, THEY BEAT US LAST YEAR….
BUT…. WE HAVE A NEW HEAD COACH AND STAFF THIS YEAR THAT WILL COACH ALL 4QUATERS……..GO ARGOS!!!!!

Norwalk 42-21. The double wing will be too much. Unfortunately, they will have to play LM again and that game will be a repeat of the second half of the first game when LM switched to a 4-4 D and shut Norwalk down.
Norwalk has carma coming there way for running up the score in both of there games!!! It will be a close game but Grove has #45 on there side!!

r.i.p. #45 telles but its not fate, divine intervention, or destiny thats going to win the game, it will be who ever shows up and plays, that being said 12-0 is good but at what level, gg isn’t playing in the pac5 a 6-6 poly team would destroy gg, so all the gg fans stop acting like gg is invincible, norwalk is 11-1 and if norwalk plays the way they are capable of playing then they will win wont be a blow out but a win is a win, and to gghsfan norwalk doesn’t run up the score the last 2 teams they played are just that bad, they couldn’t stop #22, should be an exciting saturday night we’ll see what happens when they take the field because thats all that is left to do

To pretty in red, all playoffs were 10-0, 11-0, 12-0 and its the fans posting so stop acting like you cant be beat, anything can happen once you step on that field. To gghsfan answer me this what coach in his right mind would take out all his starters the begging of the third quarter, and its not our fault they cant stop our offense, its not rocket science what we do. Besides norwalk used to be on the receiving end of a few blowouts but now that were doing it people want to cry, this is football man up and take your beating like a man, if you cant join the debate team or the chess club.
CHILL…all you fans out there! No need to be bickering about whose better..or worse! These 2 teams both got here due to their diligence and hard work! Let’s all respect that…whether you’re a GGHS or Norwalk fan! Let the boys play their game and let’s be there to support them no matter what! Enjoy the game and good luck to both teams!!
