UCLA senior water polo player Scott Davidson (Los Alamitos) has been selected the MPSF player of the year. He is the first Bruin to claim the award since Sean Kern in 2000.

Congrats also are in order to Los Alamitos water polo program and Coach Dave Carlson.

Davidson also was selected the MVP of the MPSF tourney.

Back in the fall of 2004, Davidson was a first-team All-County pick and MVP of the Sunset League. He was part of a Griffins team that upset previously undefeated Villa Park in the Division II finals, 8-7. And yes, he did score the winning goal in the game – a lob on a counterattack with about two minutes left.
