SOUTHERN DIVISION
Friday’s second-round game
NORWALK (10-1) VS. WESTMINSTER (7-4)
Site, time: Westminster High, 7:30 p.m.
Outlook: The question in this game is: Can Westminster slow down Norwalk’s vaunted rushing attack? Norwalk has three different backs with more than 1,000 rushing yards and at least 14 TDs. The Lancers are averaging 431.5 rushing yards per game. They gained more than 500 yards and rushed for eight TDs in a 63-8 first-round victory over Rancho Alamitos. Westminster pulled out a 20-16 victory over Irvine in the first round when Robert Camacho connected with Tarik Rayford on a double-pass play that went for a 23-yard touchdown with 9.4 seconds remaining. The Norwalk-Westminster winner plays the Garden Grove-Beckman winner next week in the semifinals.

It’s worth mentioning why Norwalk has a “vaunted running attack.” They expertly run the double-wing offense. Only Tustin does it better these days, and that’s more about athletes than anything else. Anyone expecting something other than a Norwalk-La Mirada final hasn’t been paying attention. GG is overrated.
Norwalk punished Pacifica. Pacifica handled Westminster.
The final Friday night:
