Friday’s second-round game

LA HABRA (10-1) vs. EL DORADO (7-3-1)

Site, time: Valencia High, 7 p.m.

Outlook: The teams met in the second round last season with the Highlanders winning, 23-14. The top-seeded Highlanders opened defense of their Southwest Division title with a 56-10 victory over Kennedy. Quarterback Cody Clements completed 12 of 14 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns. Brett Bartolone caught seven passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns. Joshua Quezada rushed for 140 yards on 17 carries. He scored two touchdowns. The Highlanders have won seven consecutive games and are averaging 45.5 points a game during that stretch. El Dorado, which finished second in the Century League, defeated Santa Ana Valley, 42-14, in its first-round game. The Golden Hawks rushed for 386 yards, led by Seth Davis (121 yards) and Jordan Long (101). All six of El Dorado’s touchdowns were scored on the ground. El Dorado’s has played well down the stretch, allowing 51 points in the past six games.

    Love those Thanksgiving day practices, with the awsome alumni game to follow. They will have all the ex- LH greats playing. Coach V does a great job
    putting it on!

    Friday night. El Dorado is a good team, but can they
    handel the power and speed of La Habra? NO!
    I expect LH to really bring it Friday night.
