The best football games on this week's schedule:
Laguna Hills (9-2) vs. Segerstrom (7-4)
Friday, 7 p.m. at Segerstrom High
Outlook: The Hawks and Jaguars meet for the second time this season.
The first time, back in the second week of the season, the Hawks turned in a dominating second half on the way to a 33-14 victory.
Segerstrom led 14-13 in the third quarter, before the Hawks closed the game with three consecutive touchdowns. The Hawks rushed for 277 yards.
Laguna Hills, the defending Southern Division champions, has only lost one game since the first meeting. Laguna Hills defeated Estancia, 34-7 in the first round last week.
The Hawks rushed for 280 yards, led by the offensive line (Chase Gibson, Dan Yielding, James Shoop, Drew Corley and Jeff McCraney).
Segerstrom defeated Mayfair of Lakewood, 41-35 in overtime.
Brian Murrieta scored the winning touchdown on a 3-yard run. Murrieta (109 yards) and Matt Navarro (108) carried the offensive load on the ground.
Will the Jaguars be able to move the ball on the ground against the Hawks?

I belive that the jaguars have grown (mentaly) a whole lot since the last time they played laguna hills, if laguna doesnt bring it there in trouble.
Go Hawks,
LH has grown too! Overall they've had a tougher schedule, the jags are in a weaker league in my opinion.
The jags are gonna come in over confident. They barely beat a tough 3 rd place team in Mayfair.
The beat down continues baby..........................
I bet you hawk fans didnt know that the first time segerstrom play u guys they didnt have two of their best players n now theyre playing" trust me if u guys think is gonna be a walk arround the park you 'll be suprise.and the schedule doesn't mean nothing, mayfair had tougher schedule then u guys n segerstrom beat them,so if i were laguna i would'nt look past the jags, i dont know who's gonna win, but one thing that i know for sure, this time is gonna be real close!!!
LHHS O-line will dominate Segerstrom. LHHS will pick it up because its the playoffs and blow big holes in that defensive line. However Segerstrom suprisingly ran really well against LHHS.That Aaron kid is a good running back for Segerstrom. Can Segerstrom match LHHS offensive output? Turnovers will really hurt Segerstrom. Hope its close and takes it to the limit.
The hawks are gonna have to slow down the jags offense, nobody has all year.I Get the feeling that this game is gonna be a show down, even the ocvarsity people feel that way, thats why they think this game is one of the best games to watch n I agree good luck to both teams.
when laguna played you guys they completely changed their offense two days before playing the jags!! and they still put up 33 points!! the hawk D can stop the jags offense cuz they did it week 2. and they can do it again!! all they need to do is follow their assignments. then it should be hawk victory!!!! 45-7 LH
who's you guys I' m nutral I dont care who wins, I just thought you need to be awere that this segerstrom team is not the same team u guys played earlier in the year, i wouldnt underestimate the jags.
laguna is nothing special all they do is try to over power you with their running game the jags face those tipe of teams before.the jags play you guys every year and it has never been a blow out, wouldnt be some thing if the jags get their first win against you!! n I think they could!! the CIF playoffs r diffrent than the regular season.
awwwwww yeah!!!!!!
Great prediction 1234...and Another nice dominating win for the Hawks. Now take it to the matadors...Last meeting with them in the playoffs went very well for the Hawks if I remember correctly? 1997 CIF Championship game?
Looks like i was right on with that score.
