The best football games on this week’s schedule:
La Habra (10-1) vs. El Dorado (7-3-1)
Friday, 7 p.m. at Valencia High
Outlook: These teams are meeting in the second round for the second consecutive season.
Last year, La Habra defeated El Dorado, 23-14 on the way to the Southwest Division title.
The Highlanders opened the playoffs with a 56-10 victory over Kennedy. Quarterback Cody Clements completed 12 of 14 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns. Brett Bartolone caught four passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns, and Joshua Quezada rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
The La Habra offense is clicking on all cylinders right now, averaging 49 points in the last four games.
Can El Dorado keep up?
The Golden Hawks defeated Santa Ana Valley, 42-14 in their first round game. El Dorado rushed for 386 yards and scored all of its touchdowns on the ground.
The El Dorado defense has allowed just 51 points in the last six games.
Can El Dorado keep La Habra from reaching its average?

la habra is going to WALK OVER THEM!
Mike…I don’t think you will find a LH coach or player who will agree with your statement.
I don’t get why la habra is not at home they are the nunber one team.
Being seeded only guarantees you a home game in the 1st round. Coin flips & who played where determines home and away after that.
I’ve seen El Do play against Tustin, whom they lost to (big time). I’ve seen Pacifica play, in a losing effort to Cypress, El Do tied them. I’ve seen Fullerton play as well and El Do beat them by a mere touchdown (28-21). I’ve watched LH all year and based on what I saw on the field, they should beat El Do easily. However, the playoffs do bring out the best in the lesser teams. Can El Do, stop LH’s high powered offense? Doubt it. El Do is not the same team they had last year. I pick LH over El Do, 35-14.
UH Warrior has it right.. El Do not even close to last years offense without Kane Wilson and LH might even get a shutout vs. EL DO this time.
45-21 lh rolls quezada is looking strong but lh can really throw which will be diff
LH will be victorious IF: The offensive guards step up- they are the weak links- everytime the QB takes a sack- its because they get pass 64 or 73. If I can see it from the stands -other teams can see it on film. I like this years offense…they play smart…and Clements is getting more physical- and it is great that so many are Juniors and Sophs. Also the defense backs need to get tougher- they need to stop hesitating and we can not compare them to Joe Casey or Bebe..last year had more strength and body size-this years guys are small and some do not have the play experience/skills. They need to stop the run-plain and simple. Beat El DO.
hey there salsa, welcome back after your tirade after salinas quit. im surprized you havent been on here more ripping the clan along with craig and bhsfbf.seems to me the guards have gotten better each game. and by the way 73 is a soph and doing just fine.why the negativity when you should be hyping it up like most of clan fans ? be honest dude
