Update 3

Newport Harbor is closing the gap with the amount of fans, but they are still trailing.

Los Al has one little section to fill up, while NH is about 60 percent full.

Update 2

There is just over 50 minutes before this one begins, and the Los Al side is already a quarter full. NH's side is less than 5 percent filled. It's shaping up to be a big pro-Los Al crowd, and that might just be the difference in a tight match.

Update 1

We have one and a half hours before the big Division I-AA championship match featuring Newport Harbor and Los Alamitos.

While NH is warming up on the court, about 40 Los Al students arrived in the gym, and took their seats.

They are already chanting "Let's go Los Al" as the Sailors warm up.

I have a feeling it's going to be a deep Los Al crowd.

Like I said in an earlier post, Newport Harbor's water polo team is facing El Toro at 6:30 in Irvine. That might split the Sailors faithful.
