CIF-SS SOUTHWEST DIVISION PLAYOFFS
Friday’s first-round game
LA HABRA (9-1) vs. KENNEDY (5-5)
Site, time: La Habra High, 7 p.m.
Outlook: The Highlanders, the defending champions, enter the playoffs as the top-ranked team in the division. La Habra clinched its third consecutive Freeway League title against Fullerton with a 52-21 victory in the final game of the regular season. Running back Joshua Quezada had been slowed by a viral infection, didn’t appear to be bothered against the Indians, rushing for 268 yards and scoring five touchdowns. Quarterback Cody Clements has completed 85 of 143 passes (59.4 percent) for 1,470 yards, 22 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Brett Bartolone is his top target. Bartolone has 27 catches for 698 yards and eight touchdowns. Kennedy advanced as the at-large team. The Fighting Irish finished tied for third in the Empire League with Valencia, but lost the head-to-head meeting. Quarterback Andy Peterson has passed for 1,921 yards and rushed for 661. D.J. Boulton has gained 1,226 total yards and scored 11 touchdowns. This is the second year under Coach Brit Johnson.

La Habra is HEALTHY and ready to defend its title with Quezada leading the way
Luck of the Irish Laddys>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
There is no Irish luck in the “Fog of the PIT”, Laddy. You have to be VERY tough!!!
you guys are playing at the jungle welcome to la habra
Welcome to La Habra. The La Habra stadium grandstand is close to the field so you are right on top of the action. The food is good and the band is better. Come early and chat with people in the stands. They are a friendly bunch and are there to support their friends and children.
I wish good luck to both teams.
Playing in the “Pit” is something every OC player should be able to experience. It is a combination of the field and the small town environment you don’t find in SoCal very often. That being said, the Highlanders can pack most of that environment up and take it with them to an away game.
My little bro plays middle linebacker for kennedy and has had his fair share of good running backs this season. In that being Wilkerson and AK. Im sure he has enough in him for one more good rb. How do you LH fans compare the three? Wilkerson ran for like 350 yards and 5 td’s, and even though we held AK to 75 yards the first three quarters he still ended up with 200 yards and 4 td’s. You guys will respect the play of our qb peterson. He plays with so much heart and is electrifying small guy too. I believe he ended up as the 4th leading passer in the oc. Good luck to you guys, looking forward to an exciting game.
LH has the best play-off environment in OC. The Kennedy Fans should enjoy watching a game there it is very unique. The atmosphere is “carnival” like. Best FANS in the OC.
were loud and proud of our highlanders .welcome kennedy fans to the jungle your in LA HABRA
I feel sorry for Kennedy. Their season will be over after the game. Enjoy it boys. The score will be high (62-7), with La Habra High Highlanders walking away the winners. Third and four string, get ready to ball some ball.
easy simba.
Warmup game.
I look forward to seeing Kennedy’s quarterback do his work. Peterson is quick thinking, makes few mistakes, and can run like lightening. He shows his bravery when chased out of the pocket and if clear can make some yards in a blink of an eye. This is the first time in modern history Kennedy will be playing in the “Pit” they will remember it for a long time, I think. And don’t forget the great food, so don’t eat before getting to the field.
UHWarrior has it right Kennedy fans…come out and support your team in big numbers. Make the “Pit” rock on both sides of the stadium tonight!!
call off the dogs in 3rd frankie will run it up 55-14

Looks like the Irish ran out of lucky charms at the pit. Way 2 go HighLanders!
