Girls volleyball playoffs: Dos Pueblos-Huntington Beach preview

No. 1 Dos Pueblos (29-2) VS. Huntington Beach (15-10)

When: Saturday, 4:30 p.m., Cypress College, Gym 2

Road to finals:

Dos Pueblos: 1st Rnd def. San Luis Obispo (25-15, 25-14, 25-18); 2nd Rnd def. Rim of the World (25-8, 25-4, 25-11); qtrs def. El Toro (25-21, 25-13, 25-22); semis def. Laguna Beach (25-23, 25-23, 25-13)

Huntington Beach: 1st Rnd def. Brea Olinda (25-15, 25-14, 25-11); 2nd Rnd def. Serrano (25-18, 25-10, 25-18); qtrs def. Marymount (25-20, 14-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-13); semis def. Santa Barbara (25-21, 15-25, 25-21, 25-19)

Outlook: Dos Pueblos' only two losses this season have been to the nation's top ranked team Archbishop Mitty. The Chargers have beaten county teams El Toro and Laguna Beach in reaching their second consecutive CIF final. Dos Pueblos is also seeking its first championship. Huntington Beach has put a run together to reach its first and only final since winning the championship in 1996. The Oilers upset No. 3 Marymount on the road, then followed it by beating No. 2 Santa Barbara in four games.

    Dos Pueblos is the real deal. Their setters are amazingly athletic. The do commit a lot of service errors though.
