The top football games on this week’s schedule:
Servite (9-1) vs. San Clemente (6-4)
Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Cerritos College
Outlook: Remember the last time these two teams met in the playoffs?
In 2007, Servite and San Clemente staged an offensive shootout, with the Friars eventually winning 54-43.
Servite, the third seed, is coming off a regular season in which it survived a difficult nonleague schedule (4-1) and did the unthinkable, going undefeated in the Trinity League (5-0).
Servite averaged 41.6 points a game during league play.
Quarterback Cody Fajardo leads the show and what a leader he has been. He has completed 117 of 161 passes (72.7 percent) for 1,647 yards with 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He is also the team’s leading rusher (638 yards) and six touchdowns.
Is there anything he can’t do?
Also, to beat Servite, you have to account for the whereabouts of Chris Nicholls. Nicholls has scored 20 touchdowns.
San Clemente rallied to defeat Capistrano Valley last week in order to clinch third place in the South Coast League.
Quarterback Chase Rettig passed for four touchdowns in the 27-24 victory.
The Tritons will have to cut down on the turnovers and the mistakes in order to have a chance at the upset.
Can they do it?

I wonder what the county record is for completion percentage in a season if there is a record
