  • Interesting says:

Laguna Hills has an easy path, with the exception of La Mirada.

Grove’s toughest test will be Norwalk… Hate to say, but I think LHHS will take it again if it comes down to a GG vs. LHHS final. La Mirada may be good enough to knock off LHHS and take it all as well.

  • Country says:

    - I like GG’s chances of reaching the semi.

    - Irvine also has a good chance of reaching the semis. Henigan does know how to coach against the double wing offense.

    - The bottom bracket belongs to either Laguna Hills or La Mirada.

  • raze says:

There will be some good rematches from last years playoffs, gonna be some good football side note henigan couldnt stop the double wing last year

  • lil gag says:

what do u guyz think bout da segerstrom n mayfair match up

  • jflash says:

I really hope GG can pull it off and the way they are playing there is no reason why they wouldnt, after their teammate loss, they have so much on their shoulders and are putting incredible work, but their biggest match up might be irvine. both Youngs on gg and irvine have had amazing seasons.

    • PeeWee says:

True they have something to play for, but there are teams that aren’t going to care, they will just line up on the other side and smash GG into the ground..Garden Grove’s motivation is Kevin Telles, everyone else is playing for a RING, so everyone is motivated right now, don’t underestimate any teams. Espiciallly that Bellflower team they have speed and d ends that can tear Sean Young to pieces..

  • Rigorokuz says:

guys wake up and smell The L A county teams coffee. The suburban league looks to advance on all levels except Bell flower.. LGHHS is not as good as last year they have a very good coach but there is were it will end . The Suburban league should have won it all last year but Mayfair broke down somehow after being in control in the championship game. Look for Norwalk or la Mirada in the championship game or maybe both. The suburban league belongs in the southeast div VII not the southern league as i stated last year. Well anything can happen right dare to dream they say well this dream belongs once again to Suburbia…

    • Glen Chervin says:

Word. Laguna Hills is the only OC team with a chance.
Irvine is an average team with a great freshman running back.
The Champion comes from the Burb unless the Hawks have some form of passing game that we have not yet seen.

    • SIMPER says:

Quote: “Look for Norwalk or La Mirada in the championship game or maybe both.”

Could this be shades of 78′ when Norwalk and Neff both went into the playoffs 9-0-1 (tied last game of the regular season) and met each other in the championship game? If you are a football fan, you know who won!

    • lil gag says:

I guess mayfair broke down once again some how this time to segerstrom Im starting to believe that the suburban league is over rated even la mirada was nervous in the first half against santa ana.

  • pat107 says:

i think beckman has a big chance of proving to everyone that they arnt just that team that nver goes ne where i think if ppl take beckman lighly then there gnna get rocked.. beckman will take lagunabeach easy and have a little bit of a mach against GG but i really wanna see them against irvine again. they have all of there starters back witch would help bcuz keith lawson the 3rd best runiing back really helps there O snd they didnt have there QB J hazard witch really helps there pass plus they didnt have all there starting D players due to ingury as well and theyve seen irvines running back and he could barly run on them he had the worst yards agaisnt beckman he has all season i think beckman still has a running chance at this.

  • SANT!AGO_CAVAL!ER says:

watt do yuu guyss thinkk about Santiago vs. CostaMesa game? they had a bad loss against GG fridayy but they beat Mesa last year..

  • empirefootball says:

    Semi-Final Round

    Norwalk over Beckman

    Laguna Hills over La Mirada

    Southern Final

    Laguna Hills over Norwalk

  • Oz Dawg says:

Santiago will beat up Costa Mesa. And I agree, I would love for an OC team to take the championship, but the “Burb league looks too strong. Segerstrom, a league champion, got a very tough draw.

  • SANT!AGO_CAVAL!ER says:

yess segerstrom did get a tough draw. well letss see what happens

  • tong lee says:

The Suburban League is nowhere near as good as last year. Mayfair is way down and is just playing things out at this point. Norwalk is improved, but you have to ask who they got those gaudy stats against. If you look at their schedule the only good team they played was Pacifica, and PHS has shown that they can’t stop the run this year. La Mirada is a legit team that can throw the ball and mix in some run. They have played a good schedule and outside a blow out loss to La Habra, have done well against some quality teams.

  • Oz Dawg says:

Hey, hope you’re right tong. I’ll admit I’m basing the quality of the ‘Burb league on what they did last year. I remember Laguna Hills had to go through the ‘Burb to claim their championship last year.

  • PeeWee says:

True Norwalk is improved, but Laguna Hills is not last years team of destiny..sorry but La Mirada could beat Laguna Hills, and if Mayfair gets healthy then so could they in the second round..Time will tell but i feel bad for rancho alamitos they were happy to make playoffs then not happy to see who they drew..

  • Tapia says:

    ahah to correct empirefootball
    semi finals
    GG vs Norwalk
    LHHS vs La mirada
    Finals
    Norwalk vs.LHHS

i love grove and im beign real here ther chances of beating Norwalk are 40% but i know GG well surprise every one and hopfully beat Norwalk

  • 76ARGOnation says:

Once upon a time, in the fall of ’75, the argos were unheard of. They were too small of a school and a weak league. Our first playoff game was against Norwalk. Their QB was going to a big four year college and Norwalk was expected to win. GG came out and shut them down, 28-16. We went on to beat El Modena and Damien. Unfortunitely, our QB, RBs, and some lineman got sick. GG had to start a freshman QB and Lost to Villa Park. Thanks to Maxpreps and Kids in HighSchool I can keep in touch with my school. Hopefully the Argos will go all the way this year and win section. GO ARGOS!!!!!

    • Leonidas says:

      Once upon a time,
Garden Grove was in a three way tie for first place and was 9-1 going into a first-round home game against a 6-4 Norwalk team. They also had a 1300 yard rusher named Sean Young, and man wasn’t he good?? Well that night ended with Norwalk 7-4 and Grove 9-1 and done. A total dismantling 38-6 behind Young’s 13 yards rushing..Yes i love history..

  • cordman says:

    Hey 76argonation,
interesting to hear historical facts about 1975 football playoffs. where did you find it at?

Was it a website or you had newspaper articles all these years?

  • 1234 says:

LH rolls to another cif title…count on it

  • Thursday67 says:

Its definitely true that the suburban league is alot better than their records reflect because teams like mayfair are playing teams like Lakewood. Also, its true that Laguna Hills doesnt have the same team as last year, however, people are underestimating Laguna. People judge Laguna off their losses to trabucco and El Toro in pre-season, however Laguna his 3x better now than they were at the beginning of the season. I dont believe that there is any single team that has a “easy lane” to the championship. there are gunna be some great battles.

  • lil gag says:

whats all this mayfair in the second round comments! first they have to get past segerstrom in the first round mayfair is in for a dog fight.

  • Rigorokuz says:

Um come on guys . Everyone has dreams and the O C teams playing Burb teams is a nightmare for those teams. Sergestrom is ok but more ala bellflower in talent. Mayfair is average this year. But bet on the Burb winning out. LHHS is a dark horse those loss’s this year were bad.

  • lil gag says:

I went to go see this G Grove team against a good SA valley team and they seem to be for real.theyre not the same team from last year.

  • ENCORE says:

    Encore Encore LagunaHills Back-to-Back

    • ?? says:

what if segerstrom manages to pull it off and beat Laguna hills.
their first matchup was close but came down to a late turnover.
segerstrom is pumped to make it this far and they only want more!!
their programs goal was to practice on thanksgiving and they did it.
Seniors led the way through the mayfair game and are hungry to knock off Laguna

this time around things will be different!!!!

  • heads up says:

I think the suburban teams are a little too confident, I think they have more talent, but some of these orange county teams have way better coaching staffs, thats the great equalizer….when you look at Laguna Hills, Irvine, Westminster and even Grove (yeah, Hay is a new HC, but hes been around), those staffs have alot more experience in the playoffs and winning titles…with the exception of mayfair, of course.

    • LM parent says:

I guess you don’t follow up on Suburban league coaching staffs? La Mirada has one of the best staffs around Head Coach played at Colorado broke several records as a QB and coached at Colorado as well. Offensive coordinator won the 2006 Walter Payton Award and Played in the NFL. O-Line Coach Played at Purdue one of the best o-line coaches around over 12 years under his belt! D-Coordinator is known for his hard nose hit you in the mouth style of D…… I’m just sick of hear that all we have is talent! We are 9-1 with the same players we had last year we only lost a few kids, This coaching staff is the best in D.6……

      • heads up says:

YOu keep saying this guy played here, this guy played there…..so what? Ive know guys that played college and NFL that couldnt coach their way out of a paper bag. La Mirada does have a good staff, but they are young and inexperienced. Nothing close to the 100+ years of coaching experience on staff that they have at Irvine or Westminster or Laguna Hills, as far as teams in the playoffs are concerned.
Having said that, La Mirada and Laguna Hills are the two best teams…the real championship will happen when they play.

        • LM parent says:

They have all coached before no green horns on this staff…… I do agree with you on the fact that coaching does make the difference! The lower bracket this year will produce the Champion! Good Luck to all the teams!

  • Rick Kane says:

La Mirada will no doubt shock everybody out there who has no clue what the suburban league is all about. LHHS is definitely nowhere near there amazing season last year and I have a feeling La mirada will run all over them.

    La mirada takes it all.

    • Kwoney says:

You say Norwalk is one dimensional but no one has been able to stop that one dimension..not even La Mirada..so until someone stops them from scoring thirty i don’t see how you can stop it??

      • Pounded says:

Well lets see Kwoney….. La Mirada went in at Half time adjusted, came out and Shut you DOWN! Those NW kids wanted no part of the game in the second half LM scored twice in 2min and that was it! This Norwalk team was supposed to be the real deal! Come on now you guys couldn’t even win league! With all that talent you need new coaches! Oh by the way Mayfair held you guys to 28….

        • Kwoney says:

28 it could have been 42 but we took everyone out in the third knowing playoffs was more important..we have class we don’t care how it looks knowing la mirada and mayfair use to blow us out, shoot we didn’t even complain, but now we have a good team and we suck by only putting up 28?? alrite wait this week you will be the reason for rancho’s tears..

        • Pounded says:

Kwoney… No one said you suck they are just the facts! And do you think Rancho’s tears will make you feel better about being one dimensional its the playoff’s. I can’t wait to see your tears when you get knocked out of the playoff’s. You have no class to say just wait we are going to take it out on Rancho! La Mirada Suburban League Champs!!!! I bet you shed some tears that night!

      • Iam says:

What r u talking about? La Mirada won Norwalk just two weeks ago..lol

      • heads up says:

I saw Henningan shut down a Tustin team with three guys that went to the NFL on it, running that same offense. That offense is like every other offense. It can be stopped.

        • Kwoney says:

Do you think hennigan threw his gameplan away then last year against Norwalk?? Cuz that was not even close to stopping the double wing.

        • heads up says:

I know Henningan threw his gameplan away cuz I saw the game. I was thinking what is he doing? Very un-Hennigan like. He didn’t run his defense, which is what you have to do against the double wing. You can’t change everything and line up in 6 and 7 man fronts against it, that’s what they want you to do. Hint for Rancho Alamitos, take a note from Laguna Hills last year. They stayed in their 3-5 defense and stuffed the crap out of it. Garden Grove ran some god-awful 7-1 and Irvive tried a 6-2.

        • heads up says:

I saw both Irvine games vs. the double wing actually. Two different schemes altogether.

      • keymara jones says:

norwalk 28 mayfair 7 so much for someone keeping norwalk uner 30 Get your facts straight.

  • 76ARGOnation says:

shout out too cordman; I was there and sad to say it goes over in my mind everytime this time of year…What if…I’ve tried before to get some stats from web sites, but they want money, It’s out there..back in the day i threw this paper as a kid back then it was the Santa Ana register you’d think i would get for free!!! One more thing, i gave my son a big hug and told him that I loved him.My heart and prayers go out to the fallin ARGO and his family!!!!!!!

  • Larry says:

Simper: I rember those Neff-Norwalk games. I saw both those games and yes Norwalk came out on top the second time around. That would be a very good game La Mirada-Norwalk again.

    • SIMPER says:

      Larry,
I played in both of those games. It is nice to see an Alma Mater in the playoffs. There are many talented teams out there and what it will come down to is: Where is your head at? Our coaches never let us overlook a team. Many times they told us: Half of you guys wouldn’t even start at another school! Or things such as: That other team is doing 25 push ups. You better do 50 just to be even. Coach McAninch’s favorite saying: Hell gang, you have to be prepared!!!!!!!!!!

The prepared team will win it all…………….

  • lil gag says:

this r my first round picks GG will kill bellflower.LM over SA. norwalk over rancho.LH over estancia. irvine over westminester. beckman over LB. santiago over costa mesa. the segerstrom mayfair game is the best first round match up, this game could go eather way but ill have to go with the jags cause they being on a roll and mayfair is average.

  • Iam says:

I am predicting an upset, Rancho Alamitos over Norwalk….Asta La Vista Baby :P

  • Nike says:

i dont understand why people only focus on the suburban teams and not on the OC teams. Irvine and LHHS both have what it takes.

  • jflash says:

yeah i agree nike, a couple years ago burban was a sick league when mayfair would dominate for the most part but now more teams are coming up from OC, gg and segerstorm are both looking great so are Lhhs. i think the confidence “the burban” league has might work against them…

  • Rigorokuz says:

La Mirada you guys won. Plain and simple was it luck or coaching i dont know. But if not for ponce de leon taking off on a wild QB scamper to change the game tempo it was headed for blowout. Look for Coach Ceniceros to adjust and make sure we are in nt making this mistake. The road block here could be two O C teams LHHS or The Grove. But the talent and coaching of the burb point to a La Mirada Vs. Norwalk Championship. BY the way Mayfair scored more on La Mirada 12 than norwalk 7 points total. THe Problem with la mirada is their defense. Gives up that rear. But La Mirada is The burbs league champs and real good tanks to Ponce de Leon if he gets hurt its over for La MIrada they are very one Sided on offense. And yes it scked to have the league title get stolen from US here in the Whack by LA Mi Rascas. But we let it happen by going flat.

    • Pounded says:

Ok I understand you are bitter about not winning League but for you to say that LM is one sided on offense is a joke! If PDL got hurt our back up is just as good Shane Blood only a Jr. could be starting at a lot of other school’s. It is so sad that you Norwalk people just can’t admit that the better team won that night! So after the 80 yard run you guys fumbled, LM got the ball back and in ONE play hit a 40 yard strike PDL to Matta! My point is this your D is Pathetic and LM picked it apart all night!

LM Offense Avg. 40 ppg….. LM Defense giving up 14 ppg

By the way we have played real teams, LM smashed the winner of the Del Rio League!

  • Kwoney says:

What i don’t think people understand is that Norwalk won the flip and have a first and second round home game..two winnable games maybe blowouts and then garbage grove might even be at home..wow then off we are across the street to CERRITOS COLLEGE to play the championship game..

  • nothing567 says:

laguna hills defense stop norwalk last and can stop them this year too. put your money on laguna. cause they know how to stop them in their tracks. they may be big but i think are 200lb d-line took care of them.and guess what? they are all back!!!! and they got bigger too!!!

    • heads up says:

That offense works when you are way better than everybody else and going up against bad coaching. When you run up against somebody good, or somebody that knows what they are doing, it becomes a liability.

      • Kwoney says:

You guys say you guys can stop our offense but you won’t even play us..you guys are out in the semi’s sorry..and after that no more playoffs when you guys move to the south coast conference..haha deal with it..

        • heads up says:

who is “you guys”? Im not an Irvine fan or an LH fan….what I do know is that being over confident in the playoffs is a very stupid thing…..relying on your system to get you through because you think nobody can stop it is also a stupid thing. Just ask Markahm or Myron Miller how many times they won a ring out of all the times their offense was deemed “unstoppable.” If you run into the wrong team with that thing and they stuff you…you are screwed.

        • Kwoney says:

go and ask markham..cuz his whole left hand is filled with rings..just like his protege Coach Jesse Ceneciros who is omg the Norwalk Head Coach..people do not understand the impact of experience..what head coach in this division has more RINGS than Coach C? I don’t even think if Hennigans two and LH one still don’t make 5 but hey you guys are rich and us in the suburbs arent so i guess that already makes us suck..you OC teams have another thing coming..

        • Brett says:

Hennigan has 4 rings and Ingalls has 5. Unless Markham was a stunt double in the Princess Bride and has 10 fingers on his left hand, he doesn’t have more than Hennigan and Ingalls put together.

Coach C has done a nice job, but he is a 2nd year head coach. There is a world of difference being an assistant and being the head man.

Nice generalization by the way. OC people are rich and the SUburban guys aren’t? Might want to check per capita incomes for your first round opponent.

        • heads up says:

Markahm one like one title with that offense dude. And even if he has one hand full of rungs, that pales in comparison to the number of times that offense was deemed ‘unstoppable’ only to get absolutely crunched in the playoffs. Like I said, its a good offense when you are way more talented than everybody else and going up against bad coaching…..which is what Markahm always had at blomington.

        • heads up says:

And by the way, at least three of those titles he was not in the double wing, he was in the triple I. Either way, my point is that its mostly fail with the double wing in the playoffs unless you have a back like Wilkerson or Foster who is going to the NFL someday, but then you could run any offense with those guys and produce.
And another thing, anybody who runs up 100 points on a super crappy team (Markahm) is a complete ass. If Cisneros is proud of that, then he’s an ass too.

        • Looking In says:

Coach C is a joke! He lost the game against La Mirada, bad calls horrible game management! Norwalk finally has some talent and it is being wasted with the Double Wing T….. All he cares about is putting up huge numbers and not getting his kids to the next level! What college recruiter is going to want a kid that is in that system for 4 years unless he is a freak! No brainer to coach the Double wing. Norwalk will be pounded by Garden Grove those kids are on a mission!

    • Glen Chervin says:

Someone once said “the bigger they are the harder they fall”
      Wasn’t that you Hawk?

    • LM FAN says:

567…… Sorry to say I don’t think you could stop LM’s offense, One game at a time! But on another note you guys would smash Norwalk! Good Luck!

  • pclfootball says:

Suburban league + weak schedules = OVERRATED

also last year in the playoffs when the league teams went head to head PCL 3 w’s SBL 2w’s so the PCL owns the Suburban league

    • LM FAN says:

PCL….. La Mirada beat St.Paul and the Winner of the Del Rio League Max Preps has there Strength of Sch. at 16…… Even your OC GURU Steve Fryer has La Mirada winning it all! But with that being said this is why they play the games! Good Luck to all the Boys on Friday Congrats on making it this far!

      “Fight LM Fight”

      • nothing567 says:

ya ok? but if you looked st.paul went 3-7 overall and lost every league game! mad props for beating them by 8 pts

        • LM FAN says:

Nice… out of that whole post you find St.paul’s record to cry about! Time will tell, and once again Steve Fryer has LM winning it all so ya ok!

        • Insider says:

          LM FAN –
          1) Knowing Steve Fryers track record over the years i would not be using his projections as support for your argument.
          2) St Paul went 3-7 and
          3) I couldnt even tell you who plays in the Del RIo League and obviously you cant either seeing as you’ve merely reference the “Winner of the Del Rio League”.

But other than those three arguments you make a really great point.

  • Leonidas says:

You got to remember those three wins were all the same teams who had the perfect team at the perfect time. No doubt last years Laguna Hills team was a team of destiny, and man people say this people say that, but bottom line this is not the same team as last year but we will see what happens, and it was four not three..one by CdM in the first round against La Mierda..

    • heads up says:

Most of these Suburban teams are relative newcomers to the scene. Norwalk has been good for a year, La Mirada has been awful for most of the decade….none of these people have any idea what they are talking about. I dont see any mayfair people in talking smack, they are used to the playoffs. They understand it.

  • ENCORE says:

    GOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • David Sepulveda says:

You gus can talk all the trash you want, but when the season is over, Garden Grove will be 14 – 0

  • sudden says:

the only way westminster has a chance is if davonte gets hurt. otherwise that kid will rush for 250 yards and 4 td’s leading irvine to a three touchdown win.

  • sudden says:

    see what i mean!

  • ArgoFan says:

Why is Grove playing at Beckman when they have the number 1 seed?

    • Country says:

Because Beckman played away & Grove played home in the 1st round. Being seeded only guarantees you a 1st round home game.

  • tapia says:

GG vs Norwalk….revenge is all i can say..norwalk watch out GG is not the same team u played last year…and this is for heads up..ur right norwalk has had two good years other than that they sucked. same with la mirada..GG has always been good they just shot themselves. but yeah cant wait to see GG vs. Norwalk.

    • ARGOFAN2009 says:

      tapia

PLAYERS NEVER SHOT THEMSELVES….. EXCOACH V AND CEPEDA NEVER WANTED TO PLAY AFTER THANKSGIVING…
      ASK ANY ALUMNI………GO ARGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • seth says:

wow norwalk killed rancho alamitos last night 63-8! Hope norwalk can get revenge against la mirada in the finals but who knows.

    • melon head says:

I heard that Westminster learned a new 7-1 defense that they learned at a clinic back east that supposedly “eats the double wing up”

  • nothing567 says:

i think beckmam can beat GG. for sure! it will be thier biggest challenge by far!!!

  • seth says:

i think norwalk will be GG toughest test!

  • IAMTHEONE says:

The Irvine Vaqueros were cheated out of that game. The Lion pass into the end zone in the finale seconds hit the turf and bounced from the turf into the lion player hands. The Lion player played it off like he caught the ball fairly but did not. A video from what I understand shows the ball hit the turf and should have been called an incomplete pass. Their can be no honor in a team that never actually won the game but claims victory based on a lie. .

    • Glen Chervin says:

I hear what your saying, but you cannot expect the team benefitting from a bad call to forfeit because a referee’s ineptitude. The ref’s are part of the game. Bad calls are part of the game, sadly the Vaqueros have to deal with it and try to do better next season.

    • heads up says:

I saw the tape of the game and watched said play about 9 times in slow motion….the westminster kid clearly catches the ball

  • Y4? says:

I agree with the korean!!!!!! an yung ha seo!!!!!!! KOREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • IAMTHEONE says:

Glen i understand the bad call aspect, an error of judgment…that i can understand..But when a player lies about catching the ball that is unacceptable, and when a coach even says that even if the ball did bounce accepting that his player lied about it, what are we teaching our children? seriously…..That their should be no consequences? That its not how you play the game its just about winning? When we accept deceit as a way to benefit we deceive everyone. ..

Losing If they would have actually caught the ball would have been acceptable, winning by deceit everyone loses.

    • Kwoney says:

let it go..cuz norwalk will show you how a game is not supposed to come down to those type of situations..

      • melon head says:

Kwoney, I know a guy who knows some westminster coaches and he said westminster has a 7-1 (7 guys on the LOS and one lb with 3 dbs) defense for the double wing that is legit…it will be interesting to see

        • Kwoney says:

          thats outside all day..

        • melon head says:

Not what I heard. They learned it from some people back east and it supposedly took the double wing out of that league. I guess you have three or four guys no matter where you try to run the way they do it.

        • lil gag says:

It doesnt matter what kind of defense westminster plays, the only way the lions’ll beat norwalk is if they keep up with them on offense the way la mirada did, remember norwalks offense is similar to segerstroms n the lions had problems stoping them,so if the lions want to move on they better bring their offense.having sead all this I think the lions have a shot cause theyre a well coached team.

        • Big Paq says:

          7 on LOS???
the O-line will smash.. one on one match ups..
          it favors the O-line..
I would love to see this on Friday night..

        • melon head says:

I guess you’d have to see it on film. I stopped by their practice and saw the 7-1 in action. It looked pretty solid.

        • melon head says:

big paq – its not that easy. that had seven on the LOS, but they will stunt them all over the place, it’ll be crazy, guys looping around everywhere. Good luck blocking that!

    • heads up says:

news flash, the kid actually caught the ball. I watched it over and over and over again, I figured he did drop it so I gave irvine the benefit of the doubt, but he definately caught the ball

  • lil gag says:

I dont know who but i get the feeling that one of the top four teams is geting knocked out this friday, maybe two!!santiago, westminester, beckman n segerstrom r solid. so to the top four teams you guys better bring it this friday or else youll be upset.

  • Looking In says:

Norwalk goes down Friday….. Laguna Hills, Garden Grove and La Mirada all advance! Norwalk sorry Westminster is a solid team! If Mayfair held you to 28 then West will do the same only they can score! La Mirada looks good Over 400 yards off.(205 rushing 195 pass) and There D held a Santa Ana that Avg. 240 rush yards a game to 80 yards! Can’t wait to see that Semi-final game Laguna Hills Vs. La Mirada! Garden Grove is on a mission!

    • Kwoney says:

Norwalk 515 yards rushing..50 points in the first half..alrite say what u want..Norwalk bashes this week too..

      • Argo Fan 32 says:

WHERE ARE THOSE 500+ YARDS AT NOW??? LOL – Take a seat with Beckman and Bellflower –

“…Norwalk bashes this week too” ??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Give up posting on these boards and pick up stand up, kuz you got jokes!! LOL

btw, pick up a new offense, that wing-t for pop warner…thought everybody knew that – lol

      • Argo mom says:

        NOT!!!!!!!!!

  • chill says:

Irvine put Westminister too sleep huh? LOL it was a great game but #1 he is the man…1 yr player.

  • chill says:

we will see what norwalk does against a good defense.

  • Bystander says:

I thought Beckman was going to easily walk all over Laguna Beach.

  • seth says:

norwalk is going to win in another blowout

  • SANT!AGO_CAVAL!ER says:

well istill havee hopeee forr santiago against la mirada…. cavss had a hugeee loss against thee undefeatedd argosss butt theyreee playyin harder after itt… well goood luckk to bothhh teamsss

  • OCV says:

I LOVED THE WAY IRVINE SMASHED ON WESTMINSTER!!!
AND THE WAY EVERYONE DOUBTED ON SMALL TOWN WESTMINSTER!!!! KEEP IT UP…

  • Korean says:

I think that the teams that score more points than their opponents will definitely walk away with a win on Friday.

  • Why For? says:

i think GG is gnna come out and think its gnna be an easy win and beckman will smash and end there when strek!!!

  • ........... says:

what r the chances segerstrom will beat laguna hills….. i dont think the jaguars are going to lay down, like everyone thinks…… this is the game of the week by far!!!!!!

  • sudden says:

for the last time davonte young only played 1 1/2 quarters against westminster. oterwise the pass in the end zone is moot. irvine would have won clearly. westminster will be turning in their equipment on monday!

  • seth says:

im goin to be at the westminster norwalk game i think norwalk is goin to just run all over em go norwalk!

  • seth says:

norwalk won again! westminster couldnt stop run. norwalk 64 – 21

  • ArgoFan 32 says:

    Looks like it’s a Rematch

    GG vs. Norwalk

    Go ARGOS!

    • ARGOFAN2009 says:

      PeeWee
where you at or did MY boy Sean Young walk all over you?
LOS Amigos coach …..( over rated? ) YOU KNOW WHO U ARE….

SEMI-FINALS…………WOW……….Going up against a team that beat us
last year 38-6……………GO ARGOS!!!!!!!!! thank you Coach Hay and
      coaching staff !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rigorokuz says:

Norwalk smash em bash em football. Poor westminster but at least they scored 21 against us here in the wack…If we can get by GG which i think we can, its chanpionship against The La Mi rascas crowd. Go Norwalk…

    • lil gag says:

YOU MEAN LAGUNA H. LAGUNA WILL BEAT L.M. TRUST ME,THEY DONT BELONG IN THIS DIVISION THEYRE TO GOOD.I VE SEEN ALL THE TEAMS LEFT IN THIS DIVISION PLAY IN PERSON, N IS NOT EVEN CLOSE.YOU SUBURB TEAMS SHOULD BE GLAD THAT THEYRE MOVING OUT OF THIS DIVISION,THEY WILL WIN IT ALL AGAIN THIS YEAR COUNT ON IT!!!

  • Rigorokuz says:

lil gag i want some of what you OC guys are smoking …it seems to be good cause of predictions. LA mirada is by far better than Laguna hills …Laguna Hills is not moving anywhere except possibly to Div 6 again along with the suburban league…But trust me La mirada Will win…I seen Laguna hills and anyone can look great when they play inferior teams, Laguna hills losses early this season proves it. So like i Said I dont see La mirada losing at all to laguna hills…All suburban champoinship coming up…unless some unforseen miracle happens

    • lil gag says:

They’re moving to the south coast league where they belong. LM hasn’t seen the tipe of defense that laguna brings every time they step on the field.and those early losses doesn’t mean nothing they’re a diffrent team now. and i wouldn’t talk about inferior teams, the only strong win you guys have is against norwalk, and LM got lucky that night. i know norwalk wan’t to play you guys again, cause they know that thats the only way they could win a championship, but thats not gonna happen L.H. will beat both of you. and then maybe next year when LH moves out of this division you sububrban teams might win one, but’ll be mayfair not L.M. norwalk.

    • Simper says:

      All suburban champoinship coming up…

Won’t be the first time, although it has been awhile!

  • lil gag says:

why you guys have to hate for?next year when laguna moves on,you guys ‘ll be fine.until then don’t hate.la mirada is a one man team, norwalk is the better team of the two,but laguna will win it! cause they know how to stop the double wing.

    • LM HPT says:

One Man team…. Ya ok 3 RB’s with over 500 yrds and 3 WR’s with over 500 yrds. And a line that is the best in D.9 not to mention one of the areas best QB’s… I really don’t understand why people still think it was luck that LM beat Norwalk they got beat no luck just pounded! Turn the page! The real final will be in the lower bracket LM vs. LH it’s gonna be a hell of a game! Good luck to the final 4 teams!

  • Nike says:

i dont know who is gunna win in the laguna hills-La mirada game but i just wanna say that the suburban teams in general are way too overconfident. Just cause your predicted to win doesnt mean you will. Newsflash- Laguna Hills was predicted to lose last year, remember that?

Newsflash- Mayfair was predicted to in and segerstrom beat them.

Just because a team is predicted doesn’t mean anything in playoffs cause everyone is playing their “A” game. You suburban teams are way too overconfident right now.

  • Kwoney says:

yap yap yap..the two semi-finals games will be played in the same district, way to go NLMUSD way to be represented!!

    • Insider says:

Yeah way to win the coin toss. Whats your strategy heads or tails? I heard that tails never fails but i’m not so sure anymore.

  • Rigorokuz says:

The truth is the suburban league does not belong in div 9. they are way stronger than almost all teams in Div. 9 . The suburban league belongs somewhere in div 6 or 7. Thats the truth. Anyway like i said you LHHS fans will now be brought back to reality on friday. Cool but just to be fair it could be Garden grove against LHHS for the championship as well. But it would probably be a fluke. BUt hey this is football whre anything can happen

  • Rigorokuz says:

I just looked south coat league is pac 5 div 1!!! all you LHHS fans are smoking some bomb stuff…You guys aint worthy of pac 5. No way prove yourselves at Dvi 6 or 3 first. CraZY JUST CRAAZY

  • Kwoney says:

Its gonna be the South Coast Conference half will be d6 and the other pac5

  • lil gag says:

props to la mirada, I realy thought that laguna would win,but i was wrong, I ain’t got no problem admiting it. good luck against norwalk next week, and yes norwalk will beat GG tomorrow.even though Im an oc guy is time to give credit where credit’s do, and this two suburb teams are good this year. I hope i can make it to the game next week cause is gonna be a heck of agame.

  • rigorokuz says:

thqnkl you lil gag..nuff said now ..With that GG has a chance however and we will see at the game ..BUt it is pretty one sided right now with Norwalk looking to advance …but it is not out of the question for GG to win…Suburban league move them to Div 7 southeast i think is the league…Div 6 is not suburban they need to play area team whittier , ect…and a few oc teams if not we can go div 6 again no prob

  • lewalcindor says:

Tonights game hardly proved any Suburban League dominance. LH could have won, LM was out of gas at the end of the game. Great game but I’d still take LH over LM.

    • LM FAN says:

Should of, would of, could of!! Nice call… option on the 5 yard line! ahahahah You lost deal with it! #21 ran all over LH….. Laguna Hills got worked up front! LM plays next and you guys go condition in the off season!

      • Insider says:

Congratulations to the La Mirada kids and best of luck next week. However anyone that saw the LHHS – LMHS game could not (and would not) say that Laguna Hills got beat or “worked’ as you so brilliantly noted. Laguna Hills was about to walk into the endzone and win the game when they botched a handoff exchange that had nothing to do with La Mirada. It was a great high school football game and both teams should be commended but in no way did La Mirada beat Laguna Hills or prove any sort of Suburban dominance.

    • Glen Chervin says:

Kareem what are you talking about? Next season?

  • LM FAN says:

It was a joke meaning you should have called it….. it worked every time you did! Nope we are fine just the way we are! Good season! You guys will be back! I have heard it all an Orange county team calling us poor folk arrogant and cocky!

    • Nike says:

in all honesty, our team has never downplayed you whatsoever. The only slightly negative thing said about you guys is that your overly cocky, which was proved true at the game. Good luck with the rest of your season and you better watch out, your overconfidence may come back and screw you over in the finals.

  • Lancer says:

Ryan Ur couldn’t do it all by himself
Only way to beat L.M. Is by training with Joshua Quezada- haha jk jk
He is in the only team that beat L.M.
And by beat, I mean, whooped on >=]
If GG moves past Norwalk, which I doubt will happen, GG will be in for a long night with L.M.
G.G’s schedule before the end of the season was a joke
Not claiming that Norwalk was that tough, but atleast they played Pacifica and L.M. =D I want to see a rematch between Norwalk & L.M. And in the Pac 5 with Edison & Servite

  • seth says:

norwalk lost we should of won. the refs took away 3 of our touchdowns. GG is goin dwn next week for sure guarnteed!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Argo Fan 32 says:

    HAHAHA @ NORWALK!

WHAT A JOKE! No discipline – gang of fouls and a meltdown in the 4th shut you guys out. HAHAHAHAHA!

TAKE YOUR L AND JOIN BELLFLOWER AND BECKMAN!

    GROVE IS FOR REAL

  • tapia says:

seth were u at the game?? cuz i was and as a REF if i see holding ima call it ahahahhaha… NORWALK couldnt stop #42 so they had to hold him and thats the only way Norwalk had HUGE runs..but w.e LM be carefull GG has one thing on their minds and that is to win..and btw u guys onyl beat Norwalk by 1 or 2 TD i think GG can hang with you guys

    • GG sucks says:

NHS did not give us a couple hundred penalty yards. we came out & shut them down the 2nd half. you guys were handed the win through bonehead mistakes.

      • Argo Fan 32 says:

        Correction; Grove TOOK the game.

You guys were the dummies that thought you could win WITH bonehead mistakes – HAHAHA – Get some discipline and tell those knuckleheads to watch the ball next time – we were going on the second count – hahaha

  • jflash says:

so i just wanna come down on all that talk from the “burb” league like i said before ur guys’ heads get too big, GG this year is something amazing, not gonna lie LM is a great team as well but it should be a good game. Stop all this talk about all the flags tonight, if norwalk was as great as u guys talk, u guys shouldnt of been holding down #42 the whole game.. good luck grove! i have to brothers on the team that get good playin time ..stop the talk n get it done…rip KT #45

    btw..numbers 22 and 21 on norwalk are beasts..lol

  • GGHS_2002 says:

LOL @ All the Norwalk homers crying over penalties. Three unsportsmanlike conduct penalties when your team finally had to face a little adversity. Norwalk couldn’t handle it. And the chant of “BULLSH–!” from your crowd was really classy during a HS game. Oh, not to mention threatening GGHS coaching staff up in the booth. Way to go Norwalk.

    Go Argos!

  • Lancer says:

    Norwalk lost because of penalties
And also interceptions due to pressure, a fumble that shouldn’t have happened and sealed the win for GG
Oh well, Eli..Penny…Nunu…and the gang will be back next year either way. I’m sure GG can hang with L.M. But I still think L.M. Will win, want GG to win it tho. They deserve it more, want it more, NEED it more…

GG will win if one of ‘em looks like Ryan Ur, swaps n lets him suit up … just kidding, hope ur luck will be at the Finals… you’ll need it

  • Argo Fan 32 says:

So much for all that talk about ‘moving out’ of the division lol – looks like everybody’s gonna be sticking around for a while especially if Grove beats La Mirada. According to Calpreps; Norwalk and Laguna Hills were rated higher than Grove coming into the semi’s but now BOTH have significantly dropped below leaving La Mirada as the only team in the division above Grove in rating.

But as Lancer just said, Norwalk shot themselves in the foot because of an undisciplined demeanor and underestimating Grove’s skill and desire to win. The kids at Grove may not have matched up to Norwalks size and numbers on paper but that didn’t stop them from fighting back and TAKING THE WIN. Whatever happens next week, nothing will take away from what those players and coaches have accomplished.

    GO GROVE!

  • ARGOFAN2009 says:

KNOCK KNOCK……………….WOW…..peewee whats up and to all
you trash talkers………..what do u have to say now.

…………………to be continue or not……….GO ARGOS!!!

  • ARGOFAN2009 says:

    Kwoney says
You say Norwalk is one dimensional but no one has been able to stop that one dimension..not even La Mirada..so until someone stops them from scoring thirty i don’t see how you can stop it??

    • Argo Fan 32 says:

      Grove (35) – Norwalk (23)

At least he was right about one thing – the team that can keep Norwalk under 30 points will win, too bad for them it was GROVE – perhaps Kwoney should look into not jinxing his team next year by shutting up til after they win a game HAHAHAHA!!

WHERE’S THAT 500+ YARDS OF RUSHING AT NOW???? HAHA!

      • Norwalk resident says:

That was horrible officiating last night. Its the semi-finals you have to let the kids play football and not call every penalty and if you do call every penalty it should go both ways and not to just one team. GG should thank CIF for handing them that game. Not even the pros or college could overcome bad officiating like last night’s game. Yes Norwalk did make mistakes, but its harder to overcome bad officiating. even with the bad calls Norwalk still rushed for 400 yards.

        • GG sucks says:

Not call every penalty?!! ARE YOU KIDDING!!! If they were such a good team they would have found a way to win. Every team in the playoffs have had some bad officiating. I know LM has had a few games & still managed to win. So don’t blame it on the refs, blame it on bad coaching. They should have been taught to keep their heads in the game.

        • GGHS_2002 says:

Somebody call the Waaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance. Boo hoo you got called for holding. How dare the officials do their jobs! Since you and your team are free Friday night come on out to OCC and watch the Final.

  • jflash says:

norwalk will of course begin naming all these excuses, cuz they cant take on a good squad like groves..it doesnt matter if u lost because of penalties, if they were sooo good coming out of the burb like they said, they would have acted like a good team but no discipline and couldnt handle the pressure that gg was delivering. ..enough talking..grove is in the finals and u guys deserve every bit of it.. go argos!

  • Lancer says:

Norwalk played vs GG and the ref’s
Why try, if the ref’s are against you. And they adapted to Norwalks offense…. meaning, they got used to getting pounded? =D

    • GGHS_2002 says:

Yeah, Grove got used to playing against the same three plays for 48 minutes. Actually, it only took them about 30 or so minutes to get it figured out. By all means though, keep blaming everyone else besides yourselves. As a matter of fact, blame big #42 from Grove. If it wasn’t for him you wouldn’t have had to hold. Damn that guy! Damn him to hell!!

      /sarcasm.

    • ARGOFAN2009 says:

WOOOOOOOOOOOW….WATCH THE GAME AGAIN AND LETS SEE WHAT YOU SAY………….YOU GOT BEAT BY A BETTER TEAM..
NORWALK RAN OUT OF GAS IN THE 4Q…WE SHUT YOU DOWN,(68PTS) JUMPED ALL OVER YOU(35PTS) AND AND AND WITHOUT ARE 3 BEST LB(KEVIN TELLES45,C.TREJO10 AND S.HUFF57)….SO STOP BLAMING THE REFS…………YOU LOST!!!
      GO ARGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jflash says:

lancer, why try? its a h.s. football semi final…seriously? the refs to start off weren’t against anyone, just another excuse to pile on to the loss, and yeah garden grove did get hit pretty hard but they had class, kept their heads, did their best and thts why were at the finals and not norwalk

i wonder if u guys (norwalk) used any excuses wen la mirada came back to snatch away league title on u guys too? hmmm =)

  • jflash says:

and not to mention that extremely biased commentator that norwalk had, he was annoying those first 3 quarters… until our argos took over then it was pretty quiet from there on out …

whats the next excuse??? that someone from GG dressed up in norwalk uniform, went on the field and commited all those penalties on purpose during key plays for norwalk? lol …if norwalk needs directions to get to OCC next friday ill post them up..

  • Lancer says:

Nah, La Mirada took control of the game and adjusted, GG did too but with a lot of help from the officials.
Like you said, Argo’s got L.M. Next week- Norwalk is out. Good luck
Pee Wee, Penny, Nunu, Billy etc. Will be back next year (maybe, if none transfer lol)

You’re right about one thing…the plays.

Norwalk has so much talent but their only focus is on running the ball. And the discipline obviously needs improvement

  • Norwalk resident says:

So your’re going to tell me that because GG has a perfect record their players are perfect too? If officials are going to call penalties then they need to call on both teams. Norwalk has never had a problem with holding until Saturday night. I clearly saw GG get away with holding and other penalties, but they were not called. Again its hard to overcome bad one sided officiating. Not even pros could do that. And you know its bad officiating when La Mirada’s coaches tell Norwalk’s coaching staff, that that was bad officiating.

    • Just a thought says:

It sucks to say but it seems like everyone wants GG to win and be the team of “destiny” including CIF, I saw some calls that didn’t need to be called, but it is what it is! Norwalk had a great season and they are young they will be back! I hope the coach opens it up a little next year so much talent in Norwalk! Good luck GG you are really going to need it, I was at the Norwalk La Mirada game and they are unstoppable, they seem to only stop themselves, clearly the best team in D.9!

  • Lancer says:

    Predictions anyone?
On the Southern Final OR any other final…
    Southwest/Pac-5

  • Grover says:

how about that freshman stepping his game up and going both ways for grove on Saturday took alot of guts by the Coach but he made the right choice

  • OCFB says:

    Hey Lancer,

I’ve attended all 3 of LM playoff games. I saw some strengths & weaknesses in LM.

LM overall is good solid team. I think coaching staff is very good & know how to make key adjustments during a game, especially for the 2nd half. LM exececutes plays well because they are a discipline team. They have a huge O-line. the running game is their bread & butter in my opinion. I know GG Defense is tough as nails and they are
gonna have to bring their A game to stop, I mean slow down their run and be patient.

LM passing game looked very average against L. Hills tough pass defense, they had some trouble passing the ball effectively. LM ran all over Lag Hills but couldn’t pass when they wanted to. Poncedeleon couldn’t find his targets & scrambled a bit & threw out of bounds.

I saw that LM big O & D lines pooping out in the 4th quarter or maybe LH was better conditioned. LH was a very tough & quick team and starting driving late in the 4th quarter, hence 2 quick TD. LH could have won in overtime but chocked BIGTIME with they fumbled the exchange between the QB & RB inside the freakin’ 5 yardline.

I see that most of the chatter among football fans is about how LM will dominate. LM secondary is gonna be challanged by the GG QB who is dangerous QB on all levels.

I predict it will be a blood bath out their with both teams expecting to be the victors,. but GG will prevail because of conditioning, balanced offense attack, a defense that will not quit and the hunger to win it for “KT”!

  • Argo Fan 32 says:

LOL @ Norwalk blaming the ref’s

of course you guys are gonna blame the ref’s because having less discipline and more arrogance makes perfect sense- HAHAHAHA!

    please

you swear that the officials had anything to do with those unsportsman like fouls and the offsides ones. Holding calls were OBVIOUS! Look what happens when they didn’t hold, they let the DL run free. THE ONLY RUNS I RESPECTED were Penny’s run’s thru the middle – there was no doubt at that time that Penny was a beast – but his linemen were gettin’ sloppy and careless.

Norwalk Resident: Obviously you haven’t been watching the grove games have you? Beckman vs. Grove – grove racked up enough penalties for THREE teams…how’d that turn out?

    Grove (38) Beckman (21)

    What’s your excuse?

  • Does anyone know where the game is Friday????

  • raze says:

Ive never seen an officiating crew take a team out of a game the way they took Norwalk out of Saturdays game, coach hay went crying to the officials at halftime thats why gg was assessed a 15 yard penalty at kickoff, obviously it worked. And now everyone wants to say norwalk self destructed, has no discipline, please we have been playing this way all season and now some dumb officiating crew wants to call all these ridiculous penalties oh and #42 was crying because he got pancaked by our center who is 5’5” and 220 pounds all year our o-line has been going against bigger d-lines and just this saturday we forget how to block gimme a break the refs took those boys out of the second half and you know it how many tds were called back on our offense and on one offensive drive for gg the refs gave gg 45 yard of that drive. And yes this is football its gonna be aggressive and intense and physical and gg couldnt handle it so coach hay went crying to the officials at the half that when all the unsportman and holding calls started. Team of destiny(with help from the refs) Happy early christmas to gg because you were handed the second half

  • Lancer says:

    Let that game go.
Your players have, one game at a time. =D
And it’s true about the class. Next years OL will be better disciplined. Look out for #76. He might go on DL too but I’m not sure.

And about the Suburb leage- is it really leaving the South Div.?? Going to Southwest??

One last thing- does anyone know if any of the games will be televised? I usually watch the Pac-5 games on channel 692 (Direct TV)

  • Argo Fan 32 says:

Lancer: I agree – the only reason I came back to post on this board was because of all the schools that entered CIF this year the one school fan base that was TALKING THE MOST TRASH was the team that was beat last week. I mean, I didn’t see Beckman fans ranting and raving after their game – and it’s not like they wouldn’t be able to find this page – it’s OC varsity and Beckman’s in Irvine. Same thing with other schools – comments boasting their team were made but not even close to Kwoney and lil’ gag’s comments – those were just straight trash talking and now after the game they’re gone like the Norwalk fans in the stands after the 3rd quarter.

There’s no doubt that Norwalk has skill and a lot of potential but i just hope their demeanor isn’t contingent to some of the ‘people’ posting on this page…

  • Lancer says:

    Tired of O.C. Division why?

  • Lancer says:

    Saturday Rain…
If the Game is Televised, hope someone gets a good view =]

  • Lancer says:

Correction- Friday… Saturday goes to Southwest & Pac-5

  • Interesting says:

Glad to see GG in the championship… Inspired football will win on Friday.

As for Norwalk, they are a bunch of low class trash talkers. Pretty sad that the fans were jamming the exits after the 3rd quarter. Biggest night of their son’s lives (so far) and they can’t even stick around to support after a disappointing loss. “see ya at home son, I can bare to watch.” LMAO

  • LM FAN 2 says:

GO MATADORES! Good luck to all players from both teams tonight. I am looking forward to a tough fought battle. I will be rooting for my Matadores to come out on top, of course.

Congratulations to GG on beating Norwalk and having a great season. May the best team win tonight.

  • Lancer says:

    Sean Young is to GG
    What Cody is to Servite

    Big play makers

And the teams in Orange League are- Savanna, Anaheim, Santa Ana Valley, Magnolia, Century….. and Western High will be moved to Empire League in 2010.

  • raze says:

everyone needs to stop talking about class because when i went to the la mirada, laguna hills game its no secret that la mirada parents fill their thermos’ with alcohol and are feeling pretty good about the third quarter the administration knows it the officers working the game know it and its been going on for years so lets not be to quick to judge and as for gg they have been talking trash just as much as anyone, the majority of the commentors on the blog are from gg fans and the rumor swirling around gg is that a few of the kids are on steroids and after seeing the team in the first round last year to the semifinal game this year, big difference, the team was big last year but not as thick as they were this year, question, what was the official cause of death after getting the toxicology report on #45 kevin telles, why haven’t the results come out yet, any just curious so all this talk about class needs to stop and everyone needs to grow thicker skins, after all this is football were talking about

  • Lancer says:

La Mirada (Suburban) – 2009 CIF Champs.

Team to beat next year. Now, to wait for the La Habra vs Trabucco Hills…

  • Argo Fan 32 says:

    Congrats to La Mirada.

Sorry Argos – we lost far too many starters to keep going. You guys fought hard and as fans we appreciated it. Keep your heads up – we’re all still proud of everything you guys did.

  • crickets says:

this was a game that GG should have won. if Young wouldn’t have gotten injured, they would have won.

but what can i say, should have, could have, would have. good job LM

  • Tapia says:

    Congrats LM with the win

dam if only young wouldnt have gotten hurt..then it would have been a different story..and stupid zack huff #57 who plays on a almost broken ankle-__- he should have been like #88 who didnt play because he actually cared about his knee and didnt want to mess it up anymore..but you know what im proud to be an ARGO!!!..never quit..good stuff out there boys!

Next year its going to be LH and Norwalk in the Finals… jp jp. What do you guys think? Mayfair? =D

  • Lancer says:

Does anyone think the Burb has what it takes to hang in the Southwest Division?
At this moment, I think they have a better chance than the Orange League…. the Orange League went 0-3 in the 1st Round of the playoffs. BUT I still don’t think the Burb is ready to move up

Everyone on this board stating what teams will be good next year after their performance this year is crazy. High school football is on a YEAR to YEAR basis.

I don’t think La Mirada got in the playoffs last year and this year they won it.

Next year is an entirely clean slate for every team in this section.

  • Argo mom says:

    YEAH, sorry NorWACK

  • LM Parent says:

LM has new coaches so relax! And I agree Norwalk has Zero Class…. The La Mirada players went to the game and the parents from Norwalk were yelling at them! So pathetic, I hope one day they will realize how to win with class! Who is in the Orange League? I hope Suburban League gets moved to D.7 I’m sick of being in an Orange County Division!

  • bennyblanco says:

Its funny that a LM parent says that about Norwalk. I remember back in the day when LM would stomp on us back in the nineties. By they way, we (norwalk) sucked back then big time. Well their white players were using racial slurs to out black running back and our hispanic linemen. It was a disgrace. Their fans were cussing and telling us to go back to the ghetto. I know some of Norwalk is ghetto but its not East Los. We were not saying anything back. Why would we. We got stomped.

I hope LM chokes again. . They are 1-7 in title games.
I know this is the OC register site but I read the GG story in the LA Times today about their player who died earlier this year. It was a sad but compelling story. GO GG!!!!

  • LM 92'champ says:

What a fool your are blanco. “i know some of norwalk is ghetto , but its not East Los” that statement you made shows how much of a moron you are. its stupid statements like that that gives Norwalk a bad name,

Your attempt to insinuate that La Mirada condones trash talking, racial slurs. and that the parents and students berated you with curse words is a cowards way to attack La Mirada football program for its winning ways in the 90′s

High School footaball isnt about always winning and losing, its about the guys you win and lose with. It also isn’t about the downgrading of other programs, Its usually the adults who conspire negativity. BennyBlanco you are the disgrace, not norwalk.

Congratulations to La Mirada for winning iits 2nd Ring. to the Burb for representing 4 teams, and last to Garden Grove who played theri hears out during a difficult time.

  • bennyblanco says:

You call me a disgrace all you want, but I was there firsthand. Funny, but you just proved to me that all you LM fans like to do name calling in your posts.
I didnt say LM condones racial slurs, I said “they said racial slurs”. Saying and condoning are 2 different meanings. It was in 1996 so you cant say they didnt say them. Hey, maybe LM has changed.
It’s not a coward way to attack LM by saying what I said. Its a fact what happened so don’t give excuses for their comments. Seems to me that LM is back to their 90s glory days and Norwalk finally has a respectable team on the field.I cant speak for Norwalk’s current fan’s antics because I havnt been to the games, just like you were not here in 96.Good for them. My mom had told me I have a 2nd cousin that I never met on this year’s LM team so congrats to them for representing the Burb

  • LM 92'champ says:

Benny, did you happend to see La Miradas starters in 96′? La Mirada had a racially diverse team. I should know, my bro ‘Juice #32″ was on that team. I have been involved with La Mirada’s program since 89′ and we never had a problem with anything racial at La Mirada.

What we all do know as an absolute fact is that La Mirada dominated the Norwalk team for the many years, from the freshman to Varsity level.

The game of football consist of controlled violence, violence that, may be penalized if not wtihin the bounderies of the game. same goes for trash talking. Belive me, if a La Mirada player was blantaly using racial slurs during practice at school or at a game, that player would be yanked off the team, and he would have to face the rest of team who would not talorate any division of team.

What we’re hearing from you is your frustration with the Norwalk teams you played on and your despise at La Mirada’s success over the years.

One bad apple shouldnt ruin the whole batch, so with that said, I wont blame Norwalk for one.

  • bennyblanco says:

Yeah, I was on that team. You guys would man handle us. We just didnt have the athletes like LM had. I know LM doesnt preach that. I’m glad you said that. LM is a good program and it is actually good to see them back on top. Its good for the area. I just happy Norwalk can compete with them now.
