Here are the O.C. teams in the east Valley Division:
Sage Hill (7-3): The Lightning was ranked in the top-10 in the East Valley Division all season and will be a big favorite over Grace Brethren in the first round, but then comes a showdown against third-seeded Kern Valley.
St. Margaret’s (9-1): The Tartans had their county-record 44-game winning streak snapped by Francis Parker of San Diego earlier this season, so a return to the small schools state title game is unlikely. But the Tartans are favorites to win a fourth consecutive East Valley championship.

Don’t put Kern Valley in the second round just yet. The Broncs are the No. 3 seed, but they get a tough first-round draw in Oak Hills.
Oak Hills is going to be a finalist, watch
sage hill and st margarets will be eliminated tonight youll see
Bobbo, how did you know, thats a man who knows his football. Oak Hills moving on to the next round
SAGE a “big favorite” was an entertaining thought … Giving them so much credit for being a program that won some games by playing sub-par competition … The most impressive part of their season was their “top players” father complaining to whomever would listen that his son and team was mistreated … Hopefully over their long off-season, he will allow them to take defeat like men and not like rats !!
Unless something strange happens, the four to look at should be:
Fillmore / St Margarets
Maranatha / Oak Hills
All four are the real deal at this level and will battle to the Championship Final ………..
Who do you pick a passing team (Grace Brethren) or a running team (Oak Hills). I’m going with the running game, OAK HILLS
I LIKE GUZ PICK OAK HILLS POUNDING THE BALL ALL OVER (GRACE BRETHREN)
The timing consuming ground game of Oak Hills could manage the ball longer throughout the game and keep it out of the hands of the Grace Brethren; however, GB has an offense that can strike from almost any part of the field …
BUT OAK HILLS HAS A STRONG DEFENSE SO IT SHOULD BE A GAMES I BELIVE OAK HILLS WILL WIN THIS GAME
I like your point of view coach and your right about that, but i got to believe that although Oak Hills is young, their defence is strong and Brethern has allowed as many points as they scored. Edge OAK HILLS
Something “strange” could happen in the Fillmore at Bishop game. Fillmore is probably more solid on the field, and the Flashes (coolest nickname around) have former Fillmore head coaches as assistants on a savvy football staff.
That said, Bishop’s 6-4 record is a bit deceiving: The Broncos lost to Truckee (top team in a lower Nevada division), Rim of the World (No. 4 seed in CIF-SS Div. 8), Bishop’s of La Jolla (top team in lower San Diego Section) and Kern Valley, the EV No. 3 seed and a team Bishop was beating by 11 points with just over a minute in the 4th quarter before losing in OT.
Fillmore must also travel about six, yes, count ‘em, 6(!) hours by bus to get to Bishop – on game day.
Bishop coach Bill Egan (Saddleback College, former head of US Ski Team) is a football genuis in a small town. Fillmore has twice the population, enrollment and coaching minds as Bishop, but it should be a great game.
And I can tell you, both coaches respect St. Margaret’s, but think the three-time defending section champion Tartans can be beaten.
Love the lower division CIF-SS Toyota Football Championships!!
