Former Register water polo player of the year J.W. Krumpholz (Foothill) scored two goals Saturday to help USC's No. 1 ranked men's water polo team edge No. 3 and visiting Stanford, 13-12, in overtime to secure the No. 1 seed for the upcoming MPSF Tournament.
Two of the more under-rated players I covered in Southern California high school water polo - seniors Justin Rappel (Harvard-Westlake) and Jordan Thompson (La Canada) - each had four goals for the Trojans.
These two should be in the next national team camp - along with Krumpholz and USC's Shea Buckner (Villa Park) - among others.
The MPSF tourney is Nov. 27-29 at USC.
You crack me up!!!
Exactly how many college water polo games have you seen this year? You are acting like a disgruntled parent quoting statistics only....
" Well my kid scored 4 goals against Stanford he should be on the national team... wa wa wa wa .... "
When you start covering college games on a consistent basis then your opinion counts until then stick to your Newport, El Toro bias
Albano didn't cover jordon thompson because he and everyone else was covering devon borisoff whose father was a coach for La Canada. Thompson didn't stand a chance. No parent involvement, different results. By the way, what happened to your loyalty to those other super studs you followed? Artuchovitz and Sagehorn?
