
Northwood 15, Sunny Hills 3:
The Timberwolves advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Division I playoffs by sweeping all nine singles sets. Northwood led 6-0 after the opening round and improved to 17-3 overall. Sunny Hills ends the year 14-6.
"I was real happy with the first round," Northwood coach Eric Keith said. "With CIF, you don't know what to expect. We were very excited to be here. I'm very happy with the team's effort."
Courtney Pattugalan and Courtni Pham won all three singles sets playing at No. 1 and 3 singles respectively. Heather Miles won two sets at No. 2 before Bar Lazar subbed in a completed the singles sweep.
The Lancers No. 1 doubles team of Hali Dickson and Stephanie Wang recorded victories in two sets. The No. 2 doubles team of Eunice Chang and Lea Lynn Yen won one set.
Northwood's top doubles team of Melissa Kan and Emilee Randolph won two sets before sitting out the final round.
The Timberwolves will face No. 4 Corona del Mar on Saturday.
