Games to Watch for Week 10
No. 6 Los Alamitos (7-2, 2-2) vs. No. 5 Fountain Valley (8-1, 3-1)
Thursday, 7 p.m. at Veterans Stadium
Outlook: A victory by Fountain Valley clinches second place in the Sunset League. A victory by Los Alamitos forces a coin flip.
Which road do you think the Sunset League will attempt to follow?
The Griffins kept their playoff hopes alive with a 21-19 victory over Esperanza. The Barons must bounce back from their 24-0 loss to rival Edison. Can they do it?
Edison kept the Barons away from the big play. Kyle Middlebrooks rushed for 83 yards and Dominic Ragland gained just 34 yards. Can this duo get back on track against the Los Alamitos defense?
Both of these teams should keep an eye on how the Serra League finishes up. Notre Dame is 2-0 and will face Bishop Amat (1-1). Crespi (1-1) is playing Loyola (0-2). A Crespi loss and I don’t think the Celts would get the at-large bid over the Sunset League team.
However, if the third place team is either Notre Dame, which would be 8-2 and 2-1 (if it lost), or Bishop Amat, which would be 8-2 and 1-2 (if it lost), would either of those teams have a better resume than the fourth-place Sunset League?
Stay tuned.

This is a must win for LA. There will be three reps from the Serra, no matter the outcome of ND vs Amat. The commitee deciding at large is favoring the strength of schedule of the Serra teams. Don't think that the qb transfer situation earlier won't have a residual impact on LA. If they lose, they are out.
FV comes out raging or flapping in the breeze!
Coach Barnes deflated this Los Al season with the QB fiasco and FV will win this game, FV isnt really all that better but they are better and knocks Barnes and company out which bothers me a bit because its not the players fault, Coach Barnes blew this season and i lost alot of respect for him so Barnes this season is on you.....RETIRE!!!!
BHSFF,
What actually happened with the QB from Los Al?
What was Coach Barnes role?
Do you know Coach Barnes or are you just blowing a bunch of smoke? I tend to think the latter.
Maybe you should retire BHSFF?
I wonder if Coach Barnes is going to Retire after that big win over FV?
I hope FV wins! I don't want this to be the last game of theirs
Go Barons!
I am very close to the LA QB situation, and I can tell you that it has nothing to do with Coach Barnes. And since the QB fiasco, LA is 2-1, their only loss coming to Edison. I also believe that the new QB Lagarde is much better; he at least has a much stronger arm. Some of you people should show more respect to Coach Barnes. He really is a great coach, and a respectable man.
FV is such a hard team to follow because the coaching staff has always been blatantly incompetent. ie edison game.
Chevytown, I an not going to say anything about coach Barns or give him any dis respect but giving the argument that Los Al is 2-1 since QB left is not saying much, you have beaten the last place team, the next to last place team, and everyone has lost to Edison to. Stronger Arm doesnt mean team leader, someone who has been with them since to beginning of the summer, or Sr experience.
