Haha this is the first time Valencia has been included on this since like, last year. About time we got on
Actually, I think the pre-season polls had Valencia at no. 2.
Yeah but did we actually deserve to be ranked that high?
We got hit hard by graduation last year
I think it will be a while before Valencia can be considered Top 5
Is it true that Fullerton is going to field to former Servite players who haven’t played all year for the La habra game? C’mon.
Absolutely not! They do have one of the top lb’s in CIF that was released from Servite last year, but Jakubiec is not eligible. Imagine how much stronger Servite could have been.
La habra will win this one but Fullerton’s Defense will keep La Habra to 17. Sorry folks but Fullerton’s defense is the best it’s been in a LONGGG time. The offense….thats another story haha
Guild- Thanks for the info.
Anytime my friend.
Those bottom 3 teams are a joke. There is no reason why pacifica shouldn’t be at least number 8. They played very tough against the no. 4 team and if the ball bounced another way on a few plays they would’ve won, but no crying, they lost. They tied the number 5 team and are finally fully healthy. Keep eyes on pacifica, they’re a very scary team, especially heading into the playoffs…but tcb on Thursday against valencia.
empirefan i agree with you i’m a line6 fan and i was at the game last week your guys played a real good game!! you guys played us better then [MD]…you should be at least 8,good luck in the play off,,line six all the way!!!
Where do Fullerton and LH play? Might just have to check this game out. Good to see Pacifica & Valencia getting some love, they might make some noise in the playoffs if ppl don’t look out.
La Habra v Fullerton is at Fullerton Stadium.
Friday night? & shame its at Fullerton. LH’s field is one heck of an atmosphere to be in. No disrespect to Fullerton Stadium of course, having played there & watched games there.
i was at the Fullerton-Sonora game on friday at La Habras field. People say that LHs stadium is such a nice place to play. The home side of the stadium is nice, but the visitors side and the field itself are garbage. the speakers have to be the worst ive heard at a football game and the field looks like it hasnt been taken care of all year.
I agree the field and P.A. system need work. The field gets used by two schools, all levels. Heck even a team from SGV(Gladstone HS) used it during the Fires, in week zero.
However, you can’t beat the view from the stands with no track in between.
true, the view is pretty nice, but the field cant be fun for the players to play on, becuase of its condition.
Player’s dont care what they play on. I’d of played on rocked as long as I was playin football.
After seeing Cypress play what I thought was supposed to be a good Pacifica team, I can honestly say, that Pacifica would have no chance against the likes of La Habra, Tustin, or THills.
Cypress did give up some big plays to Pacifica, and Cypress is ranked no. 4, (well deservedly may I add), but just because you think you play a team tough doesn’t mean you’ll do well in the playoffs. Cypress manhandled Pacifica, and should have beat them by more. Pacifica was just trying to survive, rather than trying to win.
cypress manhandled paciifca?
if i remember correctly, pacifica shot themselves in the foot when they got inside the 10. after the that first pacifica offensive drive, they shoved the ball up cypress’s you know what all game.
Pacifica LOST! 33-20 to a better Cypress team, period. Pacifica was trying to play catch-up all game! “they shoved the ball up Cypress’s you know what all game?” What are you talking about!? If they can’t put it in the endzone, what’s the point of gaining all that yardage? I don’t know if Pacifica was having a “bad” game but they stunk in the red zone, they couldn’t even kick a field goal. Pathetic. If Pacifica wants to hang their hat on a “moral” victory, so be it. Sorry league records don’t count moral victories. Cypress would beat Pacifica 9 out of 10 times.
exactly what i said warrior, they shot THEMSELVES in the foot. if you watch the tape, cypress did nothing at all to stop them in the redzone, they stopped themselves with bad passes.
and way to come out of nowhere with “moral victories” cause last time i checked nobody said it was moral victory.
you swear like it was a blowout, it was close the entire game. we’ll see in playoffs what happens
I have no idea if you even watched the game but pacifica would never hang their hat on a ‘moral’ victory. But to say that cypress destroyed pacifica is ridiculous. Pacifica played hard and you make it seem like cypress killed pacifica and would every time. I’ve seen many of these top ten teams play and this division is very close and it wouldn’t be too crazy if a team like cypress or pacifica made it to the semi finals…
Hey Warrior I agree with you on the kicking game for both Pacifica and Cypress both teams should just go for 2 every time. Cypress is a top 4 team along with la habra, tustin, tarbucco. Pacifica has heart, tradition, and faithfull followers. We will score on any of these top 4 teams easily. May we outscore you all in this years SW Championship. “Crunchbunch” forever, Mariner 4 Life.
I think La Habra will not be challenged by the Fullerton defense. Unless they play with thirteen the steam powered arm of QB Cody will demonstrate why the Clan taps on the door of the league “La Habra rule” every game. They might be higher than the county no. 8 if the team were allowed to score to the full extent of their abilities. The “Silver Lining” of the rule is that a lot of the younger players get some game minutes in the second half, and they have turned in some admirable performances. This gives the Clan more players to clean clocks in the post season by holding scores near zero.
Fullerton will play hard this week, needing a win to notch a top bearth in the play-offs. It does not look like their coach has another minor eligibility issue this year to delay reporting until the last minute. Yep, he will need to score points this time, a lot of points to win.
Remember La Habra fans that they only provide seats for the home team crowds on the South side of the stadium. Bring something to sit on because you only get cold hard concrete on the North visitors side.
Good luck to both teams. I hope to say hello to a few nice folks from Fullerton while there.
what do u mean the provide seats on the south side of the staadium and not the north side? both sides sit on the same concrete that you speak of.
THE WHOLE STADIUM IS CONCRETE. BOTH SIDES. HOME AND AWAY.
pacifica punted the ball one time “uh warrior.” cyrpess couldnt stop the run game of the mariners, but when you live the ball twice in the red zone against a top team in the division they will make you pay and they did. im glad the m’s learned that now and not in the middle of the post season. cypress is hell of a team, with size and speed. i wouldnt be suprised if you see pacifica and cypress in the semis, either playing each other or other teams.
and trying to survive? they answered every one of cyrpess’s td’s with one of their own. the game was clearly going back and forth. those stops in the red zone really hurt them obviously. pacifica can hang with la habra, tustin, trabuco, and cypress again if they play and dont be surpised if they beat one of those teams if they get the chance to compete against them in the playoffs.
pacifica is the sleeper in the playoffs. BOOK IT!
also
la habra is going to blow out fullerton. i’ve seen la habra plenty of times and fullerton a couple of times. la habra is going to destroy the indians.
my prediciton
LH 48
Fullerton Union High School 14
La Habra ROMPS!!!! Easy victory for the 2 time defending champions …….
PASSING GAME LH GOOD FUL NOT SO MUCH 28 14
La Habra is a post season team. For them, it begins this week at Fullerton. If Fullerton dosen’t bring their best game, it could be a blow-out.
For those Pacifica fans- 4-4-1 is not a good team, average to mediocre. Battling with Cypress back and forth huh? Gee, I don’t remember Pacifica ever being ahead? Maybe I’m getting old.
Obviously, you guys haven’t watched La Habra, Tustin, El Do, Huntington Beach, Fullerton, or Trabuco Hills play. If Pacifica makes it to the playoffs they’ll get bounced early.
yeah ur right we havent watched eldo play hahaha dumb much we played them and tied them get ur facts straight thanks
I thought Pacifica was pretty good, but I haven’t seen the teams UH mentioned to know how they’d fare against them. Unless they draw one of those teams, I don’t see them getting bounced right away. Their OL / DL is pretty stout.
Cypress didn’t play particularly well, and I’ve only seen Pacifica once, so I don’t know if that was their best effort either.
oh UH RainbowWarrior, BTW if you read my post i have seen LH play, Ive seen Trabuco play, and Cypress play more then once. I just havent seen Tustin play, but i hear their defense is pretty good.
Theyre all good dont get me wrong, but at the end of the day theyre nothing special. Any of the top 4 teams can go down in the quarters or semi’s by a team who’s not a seeded team. This is one of the tightest division races. All teams are not seperated by a lot, well except the teams from the orange league
if it makes you feel good to believe that go ahead, but really have you seen la habra when it matters? I will give cypress their due of a forth seed but they and nobody from empire or rest of century come close to that calibur of play.and num 5 fullerton is way overated as oc vartop 10 shows, and will get knocked down and out on fri. if league officials are so upset by la habra dominence why did they vote to not break up league in first place.
just a ruff -say i think were going to see a upset friday between lh and full/and i might be talken out of my neck but i think fullerton go it”ok guy now you can hammer me?
Pacifica played El Do to a tie, and Tustin pounded El Do 30-0, and you think Pacifica will make it to the Semi’s? I hope they play in La Habra’s bracket this year, it will be an easy win. But if you think Pacifica is all that and a bag of chips, more power to you.
Did i say they were all that and a bag of chips? its just annoying all you La Habra people think your team is the greatest thing since slice bread. Dont get me wrong they’ve got it done with the league titles and CIF championships, but not this year This isnt last yrs team were talkin here. Hey it may not be pacifica who knocks them off and i wish they do play LH @ LH too. LH aint nothin but a chickin wang…The “Juice” will be squeezed by somebody this year.
empirefootball!!! i feel the same way and i think fullerton might take care of it this friday..line six fan
Empire- It is what it is, so be it. The playoffs are around the corner and we’ll see who’s the best. But what do I know.
Also, props to the UH Rainbow Warrior comment. At UH only the Football and Volleyball teams have gone by the name “Warriors” since 2000. The rest of the sports teams still go by Rainbow Warriors. Peace.
It sounds like you know a lot
yes he does and you know hes right 99.9% of time. your right to gizmo. this isnt last years la habra team .and you can say that about any school. but this is still the same program built to last by a great coaching staff, and considering that last years team had8 sophs start next year will be even greater so yeah clan fans can be as arrogant as they wish because they do carry the biggst stick in the valley
I hate to break anyones hearts, but the only teams that have a chance in this division is La Habra, Tustin, and Trabuco Hills. Sorry Cypress, but you can’t compete with these teams. The question that needs to be answered is can anyone compete with Tustin. I think both La Habra and Trabuco Hills are not as good as last year, and Tustin is better. Tustin appears to have a defense to go along with that offense, and that is scary.
sorry my friend i think or should i say you jump the gun and put your foot in youtr mouth”’[[[sorry cypress]] get real wake up better yet keep dreaming we all out here needs to smile hahahaha
south hills#2 in their div la mirada #2 beat norwalk who crushed pacifica la habra spanked them both quesada will be the differance its not about 30 carries a game its about stepping up and depth tustin is the team to challange but the no how to win 5 in arow will be a3peat
el dorado played horrible against tustin.. post season there gunna do very well.. and dont be surprised if they knock off LH or TH in what i expect to be a good game
el do played horrible pacifica played horrible maybe there just horiible th lh tustin cypres in semis from there thats were the breaks will tell lh got them aganst th last year in a great game but tustin was outmanned and with 17 players dressing if they win it wilk should beat fajado for player of year
… “maybe their just horrible”? hahahaha! great! There have been some real funny takes lately!!
Games Played at the begining of the season no longer matter…teams now know what it takes to win..And stop saying assinine things like pacifica played horrible..what do you think they walked out the locker room sayin…WHAT ARE WE GUNNA DO!!!……PLAY HORRIBLE!!!…no the opponents make them play that way. Its a mental game also. As for La Habra…you guys may think that it will be a blow out against cypress but they dont..see ive seen the bamboozled looks on the La Habra coaches faces when AK scores a touchdown. Kinda like “What are we gunna do about that guy”. Either way i think that that would be an epic game La Habra vs. Cypress or any of the Top 4..It could go either way. And now for some trash talk…I would pick Dark blue over baby blue any day=) Dont get me wrong im sure the cheer leaders look nice but as for the players. Lets toughen it up a little put like a red dot in there somewhere..show some fire..Ha ha..Ok im done please feel free to reply.
“Its War Time!! Lets Take It Outside”
Line Six Maniac
cypken- that line about “…..PLAY HORRIBLE”, funny!!LOL!
At what games have U seen the ” bamboozled looks on the LA HABRA coaches faces “? Let me answer that for U, NONE. U R a liar ! For you’re info ” what are we gunna do about that guy ” ? is the same thing we have done to every other great back we have faced, shut them down! Thats why we are BACK 2 BACK defending CIF champions. I’ve got an idea, why don’t you try winning something first !!!!
I’m sure AK has alot in common with many other backs.
Coleman from Troy, wilkerson from Tustin, Decillo from Th, even Grigsby from Cal high 2-yrs ago.
They are all great backs. But if Cypress meets La Habra in the playoffs, AK will have 1- more thing in common. All lost to La Habra, all could not lead there team to victory over the mighty LH Defense. PLayers change, but the coaching and tradition stay the same. GO CLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bring it. And if you don’t know what Line Six is by now, you surely will know by the end of the night.
leave your line six at home, because nobody wants to step in it! do we care about it NO!!!!!
AMEN BROTHER!
Cypken and Clan91 great takes. But I kinda agree with Cypken on this one. I don’t think anyone is saying LH will blow out Cypress. I’ve seen both teams play more than once, and AK is amazing. I don’t think LH has seen speed like that since Richardson at Los Al. And to be honest with you I think AK is faster.
With that said LH run’s the spread offense better than anyone in the SW Div. and have many more options to score. LH is tough to defend because they pass well and run like demons. Because of LH’s more balanced attack and because LH has a monster defense, on paper they should beat Cypress. But it would be anything but a blow-out.
UH…are you a La Habra guy, or a former Valencia guy who has a kid at UH?
it will be fun
funny how anaheim destroyed santa ana valley at valley and will do the same to Savanna this fri and still not even honorable mention ?
this isn’t the Anaheim of a couple years ago … the orange league belongs in the southern division this year!!!
Cypress should be number 3, Have seen Trabuco Hils, and Cypress play and cypress is the better team by far.
Trabuco is in essence the same team as last year that took LH at LH to the brink with only one exception they have a more mobile QB. BY they way check out his stats for the last 3 games. Why he wasn’t the starter at the begining of the year is a mystery. Trabuco also had key injuries to their playmaking receiver and their starting safety and as a result started very slow until those players returned and the QB swithc which was made during the second half of the ET game. Trabuco just gets stronger week in and week out and peaks at the right time during the CIF playoffs. They will be a tough team to beat with their balanced offense and strong defense. As for Cypress’ rank they are right where they should be behind Trabuco at 4.
Bick- I gotta give credit where credit is due. The two times I’ve watched Cypress they looked good. The are a very good team. I’ve watched Wilkerson, Quazada, and AK in Person. Out of those three, I beleive AK is the fastest. However, Wilkerson and Quazada are down right tough dudes, and are hard to bring down. When Quazada has an off night against a stingy Los Al defense and still puts up 130+ yards, that’s amazing. AK and Wilkerson haven’t faced a defense like Los Al, heck, Los AL Shut down Edison!!
I’m still a La Habra guy, they are most balanced of all the teams I’ve seen. But the thing that gives them the edge is experience, they’ve been to the playoffs 9 times! with 5 final appearances. No other team in the OC has matched that feat. With all things being equal sometimes it’s the team with the experience that knows how to win in big games that become champions, again. Go Clan!!
I thought you might have been a friend who has a kid playing at UH.
I saw LH in passing league and that’s it. Quezada is definitely a DUDE, but AK put up 120+ on MD on only 13 carries – plus he ran 2 kicks back. MD’s defense isn’t as good as Los Al’s…LA is the best in the county on the D side.
At the end of the day, La Habra is for real. No doubt about it.
El Toro has changed alot since last year. There a very powerful team
Pacifica has been Empire and GardenGrove League Champions over 20 times. The Mariners have also made the CIF Play-offs over 30 times. PHS has been to the CIF Finals 4 times. They even gave LaHabra a game for the ages in2002. In 2007 Pacifica and Cypress played down to the very last play and very last second. Truley a Great game for all that wittnessed that epic battle. Cypress fans you should be proud of your team since coach Fenton got your program to its championship Level. LaHabra fans you have had alot to cheer about the past 10 years. 5 CIF Titles wow. But I have to also be proud of my Almamater Pacifica. They have not yet won a CIF Title but for the past 40 years they have played great football. Peter Pacifica has cheered us on the whole way. I remember him going to our practices and leading us in our sprints at the end of our practices. He has been in inspiration to our school for so long. I hope that one of these years we can bring home the CIF Crown to West GardenGrove. May this be the year that we are overlooked and pull off a Title run. Mariner 4 Life CrunchBunch 4 Ever.
Great takes!! love it.
Bick- Yes, I’m a homer, I have kids at La Habra, and I went to UH!
Thats ok let line 9 or whatever they call themselves talk it up, thats what they did last year and look what happened in the first round. Not much will be different this year. Pacifica’s run game, although not as strong as Cypress, still exploited their defense last week.
hahahaha. JB I love how you say “line 9″ as if you cant remember that it is LINE SIX. It’s funny how you try to play it off.
And on the racism not. I do agree that people are too sensitive now. I guess “white” is the only race we can make fun of without getting in trouble. Seeing that Cypress has such a high population of white students, it’s pretty much a one way street.
hey its line six and cypress can dominate in any game. no team can stop cypress when every thing is going right on the offencive side of the ball. ya i admit that their defence isnt as strong as the 2007 cif team, or last years undefeated team in league, but coach cobleigh and fenton will have them ready every week. they will bring it every down and they fly to the ball and hit anyone and every one, they will create turnovers and they will find ways to win. thanks to Zack “the bus” Ortiz running over people, jared cohen who is the biggest sleeper on the team who is one of the best at wideout, Akeelie Muhmmed who is by far the best returner/half back in oc, and Vincent “bug” Rivera who will be the next great running/wideout of cypress. all these big names also have a domonite line in front of them. if a team gets a win against cypress they will have to do what Mater Dei did and come back but i dont see that happening again, so you have to be playing on another level.
Encore- Yes, my hat’s off to the Pacifica program. Great stats you provided. Thanks. Pacifica is historically, solid. They’ll probably make the playoffs, but Cypress will be the Empires representative in the later rounds of the playoffs.
How will they look next year?
Dofa60- To answer your earlier question. I saw the La Habra coaching staff at last weeks Cypress vs. Pacifica game. Just thought you’d like to know.
warrior,if they were in lahabra at team dinnerthat usually gets out at about8pm and it takes a good 30 min to get to garden grove if you dont hit any traffic lights explain to me what coaches did you see.
they were there in there blue jump suits but what is it a crime to go scout a team who cares if they were there everyone scouts to see what they have in the playoffs it not like there just gonna go out there and win they have to make a game plan so why does it matter if they are there watching?
The game was Thursday night, and it was played at Western HS, I saw QB coach Morales and RB coach Quezada, and some other other coaches all wearing their La Habra gear. I was there at 7:00pm. Were they their when the game started probably not if they had a team dinner. I don’t know because I saw them wondering in the snack bar area at Half-time. We’re they their scouting AK? Maybe or Maybe they were there for cheese Nachos. You tell, me.
If fullerton wins..will the world come to an end?? hahaha. La Habra wins this by two td’s…
hey its line six and cypress can dominate in any game. no team can stop cypress when every thing is going right on the offencive side of the ball. ya i admit that their defence isnt as strong as the 2007 cif team, or last years undefeated team in league, but coach cobleigh and fenton will have them ready every week. they will bring it every down and they fly to the ball and hit anyone and every one, they will create turnovers and they will find ways to win. thanks to Zack “the bus” Ortiz running over people, jared cohen who is the biggest sleeper on the team who is one of the best at wideout, Akeelie Muhmmed who is by far the best returner/half back in oc, and Vincent “bug” Rivera who will be the next great running/wideout of cypress. all these big names also have a domonite line in front of them. if a team gets a win against cypress they will have to do what Mater Dei did and come back but i dont see that happening again, so you have to be playing on another level. GO LINE SIX FOOTBALL BRING IT HOME. 2007 CIF CHAMPS and the future cif champs
just let the kids play…
FYI, it was STUD (not a cypress guy) who first changed Quezada’s name. The Line 6 guy did a “LOL”.
Where do you get that Cypress people continually use racial slurs? They may be over-zealous in support of the Cents, but definitely NOT racist.
No need to make something up that just ain’t so.
