  • Purple Vs. Red says:

Santiago at Grove is going to be a huge game this week… an Argos loss gives the Suburban league and PCL the top 2 spots Guaranteed… An Argos win gives a GGL team a chance to get to the ship with the 1 seed…

    Let’s get it Cavs!

  • PMaK says:

If garden grove were to get upset (*unlikely) then they would fall to five barring that no one else gets upset..
    1. La Mirada
    2. Laguna Hills
    3. Norwalk
    4. Santiago

this means a Norwalk, Laguna hills rematch in the semi’s..
Man 6 days till bracketology..lets get to the playoffs!!

  • Brett says:

Irvine and Beckman would crush the three teams ahead of them. Good thing is these rankings don’t mean much since only seeds mean anything while doing a bracket.

Baring any upsets, Norwalk as the #4 has the easy path to the finals. Sorry Argo fans, but you are going to end up playing Irvine in the second round and if you survive that, you get the steamroller that is the Norwalk double wing.

    • RICK says:

      Brett

You are probably right, but you have to give a little love to the smaller schools which have, at most, 2/3 of the enrolment/athletes.

  • Tapia says:

yeah if GG goes 10-0 then they have a good shot(which they will)..and there are only two teams this year that could beat GG and that is Laguna hills and Norwalk(just because they run that stupid double wing offense) and every one knows that shit is hard to stop..look at Tustin thats all they run.

  • ARGOFAN2009 says:

    GGHS vs SHS
THIS GAME WILL NOT BE FUN TO SEE FOR SHS……
    ARGOS WILL WIN………….

  • In response to Tapia, you obviously have not seen La Mirada play. They just beat Norwalk 2 weeks ago. La Mirada is one of the few teams in this division that can beat you by passing or running the ball. They have the best quarterback and wide reciever in the division. and there running game is getting better every weak. I will take La Mirada and Laguna Hills as the top 2 in this division.

  • 1234 says:

Didn’t that “Steamroller” you call norwalk get “rolled” 42-8 by laguna hills last year in the semis?

  • man says:

    no it was 42-0

  • SANTIAGO-CAVALiER says:

    santiago good luck cavs!..
its gonna be hard game thoo.but it will be a great game

  • PMaK says:

Its all good, Norwalk’s offense is much better than last years..and laguna hills does not have the athletes returning from that team of “Destiny” last year..The top four are the top four for a reason..say what you want, but Norwalk beat a pretty good Pacifica team..

    • nothing567 says:

ya they did but pacifica is ranked like 24th in orange county when laguna is ranked like 17th their is reason for thatt. plus the laguna team is getting a lot better every week

  • Leonidas says:

Just remember rankings mean nothing..you could be ranked 17th or 24th in the county, but that is because some people not on the field believe so..Rankings mean nothing!! playoffs a little over a week away!!

  • ReppinSegerstrom says:

Yeah the people that put these rankings together really don’t put much thought into it! There too busy following Servite, Edison, and Mission Viejo! Example Santa Ana 6th and Segerstrom 10th when Westminster beat Santa Ana and Segerstrom Spanked Westminister! Irvine should be higher as well!!

  • thevine says:

Rankings are win-loss based. They do not take into acct. all those other things. Garden Grove is having a great season, could go 10-0. They will be ranked #1 as far as CIF. Are they better then LHHS or La Mirada? Probably not. Maxpreps rankings take into acct some of those other things and have the rankings as such:

    1 La Mirada
    2 Laguna Hills
    3 Norwalk
    4 Garden Grove
    5 Irvine
    6 Mayfair
    7 Beckman
    8.San Juan Hills
    9 Santiago
    10 CdMar
    11.Westminister
    12Segerstrom
    13 Glenn
    14 University
    15 Bellflower
    16 Santa Ana
    17Laguna Beach
    18 Rancho alamitos
    19 Orange
    20 Artesia
    21 Costa Mesa
    22 Cerritos
    23 Ocean View
    24 Estancia
    25 Calvary Chapel

    Closer to reality I thinks

  • wow says:

Costa Mesa really ranked number 7? Is that a joke? haha…..

  • nothing567 says:

all i know laguna is going to take it. they finally got their all cif DB/WR back to help laguna.

  • Rick Kane says:

Laguna Hills has not played a quality opponent since Trabuco Hills. The fact that they have not been battle tested will cause them to lose to the first Suburban team they face. Irvine, Beckman and CDM are only a shadow of what they will see vs La Mirada or Norwalk. How many passes have the Hawks thrown in league play? 10 maybe. Why haven’t they thrown, because they don’t have to. The big bodies in the Burb will stop the run and cause the defending champs to go where they haven’t been for a long time. The air.

    • Leonidas says:

It all ends tonight. No more second guessing because what you do tonight sets up your brackets on sunday. The winner of the Burb game Glenn vs. Bellflower will get Garden Grove (if they win tonight), sadly both of those teams could knock garden grove off first round. The rest of the bracket should be nice though hope no OCL or GWL teams get a suburban league opponent first round or else its and all PCL, BURB league quarter final with one other opponent. Probably segerstorm..haha!!

    • nothing567 says:

why would you need throw when running the ball is working so well? ps they can throw the ball get your shit right! bra

  • Leonidas says:

    After tonights action!!

    Upper Bracket

    Garden Grove Overall #1
    Bellflower Burb #4

    Costa Mesa OCL #2
    Westminster GWL #2

    Santiago GGL #2
    Irvine PCL #2

    Santa Ana GWL #3
    Norwalk #2 Overall

    Lower Bracket

    Laguna Hills #3 Overall
    Rancho Alamitos GGL #3

    Laguna Beach OCL #1
    Mayfair Burb #3

    Beckman PCL #3
    Segerstrom GWL #1

    La Mirada #2 Overall
    Estancia OCL #3

  • Tapia says:

but thats assuming Norwalk beats Irvine

  • S13t3.Un0.Cu4tro says:

i dont agree wit max preps the argos are the only undefeated and in most of their games, the entire second half was played by backups …
seeing a full game of their first team will be scary…
but as a former argo player (c/o 08) i can’t remember us winning a playoff game and will be wary of any opponent we face

  • Brett says:

Tapia pull your head out and remember La Mirada beat norwalk and that double wing offense

  • rystarr says:

All the rankings are great. The bottom line is that GARDEN GROVE is in the finals against La Miranda and i for one will be watching and believing that GG will prevail. If for some reason they don’t well they are undefeated going into the final. How awesome is that? GO ARGOS!!!!!
