    Here’s a scenario:
    For Tonight:
    Mission loses to San Clemente
Tesoro loses to Capistrano Valley (making Tesoro ineligible)
Dana Hills beats Aliso Niguel (making Aliso ineligible for playoffs).

If this happens, then Next week:
Dana (4-0) beats Mission Viejo (3-1)
Capo Valley (2-2) beats San Clemente (3-1)

    Result:
    Dana 5-0
    Three way tie:
    Mission Viejo 3-2
    San Clemente 3-2
    Capistrano Valley 3-2

Coin Flip and Capistano Valley and San Clemnte win the Toss

    Mission is out of playoffs

    LOL

Mission and Dana are going to meet with the league on the line. This is fantastic for South County, and that game will be one for the books.

Sorry, but SC is an incomplete team, and won’t be competitive against MV. Good for third, though.

  • Hey Capo. I heard you painted the Tesoro T on the hill yellow. A lot of Seniors are gonna make you pay. I heard Home Depot ran out of red paint this afternoon.

Attn all Cox subscribers, Vote to see MV vs Dana for game of the week

  • you should stay “anonymous”

Dana doesn’t have a chance, in fact, many teams in the Pac-05 will have a tough time with MV.

  • Rob says:

hey tesoro… u get us, we will get you 5 times worse just like we did with ur T! u didnt even get us good. we destroyed ur T, it looked nice in yellow

    Dana beat SC 38-14
    Dana beat Capo 38-17

    Capo beat Aliso 28-25
    SC beat Aliso 31-25

could the SC v Capo game be closer than we think?

    Mission beat San clemente 55-7
Mission beat Capo 23-0 without QB

    Tesoro beat Capo
    San Clemente beat Tesoro

We know SC is the favorite, but an upset is very possible. Errors, injuries, etc can change the outcome very easily

  • Gerry Mandarin says:

I agree the SC-Capo game has the potential not to be one-sided. If the SC team that showed up for much of the season shows up, Capo has a shot. There were quarters and halves this season in which Tritons were very potent, but not inconsistent. Both coaches will be fired up for this one, too. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Chi Chi Biehn played for Patton at Capo back in the day.

Dana Hills is a good team team. MV will have to work for it more than they did against the rest of league. Maybe 35-14. But even when SC and Tesoro are down a bit, they are still super solid squads when stack-ranked in the county, and the fact that Diablos made walkovers out of those games speaks to the quality of MV. Look for Diablos to absolutely roll through the Pac-5. I don’t think Servite, Edison, or anyone else stands a chance.

    • The Guild says:

Mv is a very strong team that has a penchant for running up the score , which gets the fans and boosters all riled up screaming for the #1 spot. Point difference is overrated and won’t have any intimidating effect on a potential matchup with any Serra or Trinity team. I appreciate fanaticism and the twelfth man, but don’t be surprised by an early exit when MV runs into a program with expert coaching and focus, not to mention size, speed, skill, depth and discipline that have been put to the test much more than the schedule that MV or DH have played. Just my humble opinion.

      • anonymous says:

Guild, do you have a Trinity Tattoo on you?

      • Magillacutty says:

        Guild,

I hate to name any names, but teams that have played grueling
early season schedule will have an advantage come Pac-5 play-off time. Some teams Edison, Servite, etc… have played, basically, a Pac-5 playoff schedule all season. For this reason, I must agree, as talented as M.V. may be, it comes down to being acclimated to the pressure. Come playoff time, it’s not necessarily who’s better coached. Hell they’re all coached well. Or the best players. It’s who flinches first. Teams from the Sunset and Trinity are conditioned ,
by virtue of time spent in intense battles, to deal with the pressure.
Teams not accustomed to the pressure week in and out will make
uncharacteristic mistakes come playoff time. Any fans disbelieving
what i’m saying, wait until your team does something stupid that
is completely out of their character. You’ll remember my words.

        When Magilla speaks, people listen.

        • The Guild says:

You’re preaching to the choir, Brother. That’s why I am liking what I see from the boys on LaPalma the last few games, fewer mistakes and playoff demeanor. The MV’s that play to point differential will face some interior linemen that enjoy smashmouth and that tends to slow down the scoring and impose will.
Did you have to use my name to climb the pulpit? Well done Gorilla, as per your usual insightful nature.

  • UHwarrior says:

MV is a great team this year. However, running up the score on weaker opponents doesn’t deserve as much credit as beating a team that just as good as you or better than you on paper. It’s called a “gut check”, how much heart does a team have to become champions. We haven’t seen that in MV so far. MV should be well rested for the playoffs and make a run at the PAC-5 title. I’ve said it before I hope it’s Edison vs. MV in the PAC-5 Finals.

  • CARLOS ARIAS says:

Chi Chi did play for Coach Patton back in the day.

  • knowsnothing says:

Whew what a 2009 South Coast Season!!! MV & DH in my opinion certainly stand a chance in getting past the first round of the CIF play-offs.
SC will not. SC is a great program. Great coaches. Yet these seniors were not expected to contribute or perform at a Round two CIF play-off level. The juniors are. With the 8-2 sophomore class of 2010 in combination with the aforementioned, will be a surprize to those outside the South Coast League. Due to the fact the South Coast teams already & should know what is coming very soon.
The freshman program is loaded along with the sophomore.

MV is as always loaded with talent at both freshman and sophomore classes. Sophomores went undefeated. Except their freshman they lost a couple. Not like them at all, means they will start looking. If you know what I mean. There is their cup-a-de-crau. The freshman. Yet MV much like the Catholic programs in somehow obtaining players. MV will craig-list for the positions that are hurting. They’ll find them. These programs history tell the tale. Just look at all the transfers for the group Johnson has now. Those young players could have gone to many other schools. Especially the South Coast League.

DH is unfortunately a one season christmas came early program. Yet will be a third place condender.

No dis-respect meant to either SC -MV or DH. Just a spectators observation and knowsnothing opinion . Been wrong before – will be wrong again I am supposin!!

GO EDISON!!!MISSION WILL GO UNDEAFTED TILL THEY MEET WITH THE CHARGERS IN THE FINAL

  • john conner says:

Hey Gerry Mission is a very excellent team this year but they haven’t played teams like Edison has, yes Mission beat Dana 49-17 and Edison only won 34-17 against them. From my point of view that doesnt meant anything, the Chargers schedule strengh is helping them being #1 and the Diablos at #2 because of their schedule strengh. So everyone needs to remember that, if and i extrememly hope they meet in the Pac-5 finals it will be in interesting game. Missions speed, depth and just more speed against Edison’s experience defense, tackling ability, speed, and work ethic. Explosive offense is scary but once you meet an dominating defense a good game is in action. I went to the MV game last night and i have to give alot of respect for Mission and how fast they are but I’m sorry but Dana defense isn’t that good and couldn’t tackle so the speed of MV hurdled, spun, juked out the Dolphins.

EHS. 35 MVHS. 31 if they meet.

remember about Edison’s quite but very effiecent passing game and running game.it’s going to be great! against Mission Viejo speed defense

  • knowsnothing says:

John I agree that Edison is everything you mentioned. I am not partial to either. Yet I am having to bank on the fact that Mission’s running game and gang tackling defense will be what gets them past an outstanding Charger high school football team.

MVHS. 35 EHS. 31 if they meet.

Yes remembering that Edison’s quite, but has a very effiecent passing game and running game. Yet John the difference is Missions passing game and running game IS “a in your face” passing & running attack with 5 D1 offensive linemen. yes it’s going to be great! Against Mission Viejo “in your face” style offense & defense & edison’s executing offense and defense.
    It’s the play-offs ……………….
