Here’s a look at the Empire League playoff picture:
EMPIRE LEAGUE
Cypress (9-1, 5-0): The league championship was wrapped up when Cypress beat Pacifica last week.
Pacifica (5-4-1, 4-1): The Mariners clinched second place with a victory over Valencia on Thursday.
Valencia (4-6, 2-3): The Tigers finished tied for third with Kennedy, but the Tigers own the tiebreaker over the Fighting Irish so they are in as the league’s third-place team.
Kennedy (5-5, 2-3): The Fighting Irish are eligible to petition for the Southwest’s lone at-large berth.
Loara (5-5, 1-4): The Saxons are eligible to petition for an at-large berth, but they would be a long shot.
Katella (2-8, 1-4): The Knights have been eliminated.

Where did you learn about standings? The best Valencia can do is 3-2, The best Kennedy can do is 3-2, The best Katella can do is 3-2, the worst Pacifica can do is 3-2.
Pacifica holds tie breaker because of head to head against Katella and Kennedy, This means that the worst they can do is third in Empire which puts them in CIF no matter what the out come of the last 2 games of the year.
mar595 that is correct. Just wish we could stop the best rushing attacks. Maybe things will will be better in our 4 playoff games huh?
This isnt right. If you dont care enough to get it right dont put it out there. I can say off the top of my head,
I think these things are right
1. If Valencia Wins they are in as second place team.
2. If Valencia, Katella and Kennedy all lose Valencia is in. – val and ken 2-3 and val holds tie breaker over Ken.
3. If Katella wins and Valencia and Ken lose Katella is alive along with the others at 2-3 for coin flips.
3. Pacifica and Cypress are in
sports 55 i dont think you understand the coaching stratagies of Coach Fenton but if you did the thought of him being recruited would disappear..as for the illegal transfer allegations..AK is within the boundries. Its Funny how when your good these types of questions arise..Find a way to stop him not try and find an excuse on why he shouldnt play.
Empire league is weak this year, with the exception of Cypress. If Pacifica is second best team in the league, they will get stomped by the reps from the Freeway, Seaview and Century leagues. I am impressed with Cypress though, I’ve said it before they’ll go deep in the playoffs. In fact, based on what I saw of them I can see them easily making it to the Semi’s or further. The Cents are good.

And you base this opinion of Pacifica on what? Their record? What do you know about them? Tell me how many main starters have sat out half og the season? Tell me about the time needed to adjust to a new coaching scheme on both sides of the ball as well as 100% new coaching staff. You talk about how good Cypress is but did you see them play Pacifica? Wit 2 plays different in the game the score could have been Pacifica 34 and Cypress 33. You are blowing smoke out of your back side. There are some teams, mainly LaHabra, Tustin, Cypress and maybe one other that truely will be a struggle for the Mariners, but most of the other teams are winnable games for Pacifica, and that includes all of the second place teams in all the other leagues. They just have to play their game and not have the red zone stalls.
Hey O.C. – Country, UHWarrior, mar595, You are exactly correct on the Pacifica-Cypress game the score could have been 34-35 easily guyz. In my opinion Pacificas schedule this year has been the toughest that I can remember for decades. Eldorado tie to start off the Mariners New Coach’s season,(should of won). Norwalk (should of been closer). California(ok they got us). J-Serra(humm). Cypress(well). These 5 games could of gone the Mariners way easily. Phs can score 21+ on any team in the SW Division. Its up to the defense for how far they go in the play-offs. You guyz have to give this team props for there heart this year. I’m a mariner for life and a member of the “CrunchBunch” forever. 5 wins in a row Mariners you can do it! My PaloVerde teams going for State here in Nevada. Being the line coach has been special this year. We have scored 500+ points, 3 backs with 800+ yards, and 15+TD’s apiece. My “Roots” are from Pacifica and they are growing here in Vegas. Take it easy guyz.

Considering that Cypress is ranked the Top 10 of Orange County high schools, academically speaking, and also in the top 2% of schools in the nation, you might want to think about what you wrote.
By the way, how is this spelling and grammar? Does is suffice?
Did you mean to say “Does it suffice?”
That is definitely an error as “does is suffice” makes absolutely no sense.
If you are going to ask about spelling and grammar, make sure you proof read first.
While you’re correcting grammar Professor Leo….Or maybe he must have “gone” to Cypress?
Probably bull with the odd timing of it coming out. These two are currently in their 2nd & 3rd year there.
