Outlook: Westminster carries a 30-game league winning streak into this matchup of the two teams tied for first place. The most recent time the Lions got beat in a Golden West game was 2003 season’s final week, when they lost to Orange. That streak covers five consecutive league championships.

Westminster’s offensive leader has been running back Jose Ortiz, a 5-7, 160-pound senior who has averaged 29 carries and 178 yards in three league games. Westminster has not blown out any league opponents – the Lions beat Ocean View by seven points, Santa Ana by 10 and Saddleback by 12 – and Segerstrom’s Jaguars can provide a challenge.

Segerstrom scores well, averaging 46 points a game in league, but its defense is giving up 23 a game. If Westminster gets Ortiz going, its winning streak will hit 31.
