No. 10 Tustin (7-1, 3-0) vs. No. 20 El Dorado (5-2-1, 3-0)
Friday, 7 p.m. at Tustin High

Outlook: The Tillers are averaging 41 points in three Century League victories. El Dorado has only allowed seven points in its first three league games.

Something has to give, right?

El Dorado has won at least a share of the previous four league titles. The Golden Hawks were outright champions in 2005-2007 and tri-champions, along with Tustin and Canyon last season.

Last season, Anthony Wilkerson rushed for over 300 yards against El Dorado. Wilkerson enters this week as the leading rusher in the county (1,675 yards) and tied for first in touchdowns with 26. He is averaging 239 yards a game.

Tustin quarterback Nick DiMaio has completed 31 of 47 passes (66 percent) for 572 yards and six touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception.

On the other side, the Tillers have a ball-hawking secondary. Avery Lynch has five interceptions and Rommel Lilly has four. The team has 15.

El Dorado went in the start of league play coming off of consecutive losses to Tesoro and Glendora, by a combined score of 45-10. Since then, the Golden Hawks have outscored their first three league opponents (El Modena, Brea Olinda and Villa Park) by a combined score of 96-7.

Running back Brock Dunn has rushed for 399 yards in the previous three games.

Can the Golden Hawks get big performances out of Dunn and quarterback Andres Ambuehl?

Or will the Tillers continue their march to the league title?

Will the Golden Hawks be able to slow down Anthony Wilkerson?

If anyone in league is going to stop Tustin it’s going to be El Do. Good Luck!

  • Canyondad says:

El Do loses the next two, schedule favored them by them playing El MO, Brea and an overrated VP team.
Canyon takes care of VP by 3 touchdowns Thursday. (VP can’t stop WR Prescott.. he’ll get 3-4 TD’s himself)
Then Canyon takes care of El DO by 7 to take the #2 seed in Century.
VP will be lucky to score against Canyon D and El DO might get 1 TD against Canyon’s D.
Ready for another playoff run with Canyon

  • t-town says:

Tustin has 17 ints. Lilly has 5, Lynch has 5, Rafter has 5, Coulter has 1, Oxby has 1

  • Canyondad says:

Canyon is building momentum for the playoffs, Starts with VP this week and then El DO. (El Do will probably keep it close until the end)
VP most likely will have 4 -5 turnovers against that Canyon D and that will create opportunity for many scores for Canyon.. That’s how I see it as the season winds down towards the playoffs.

  • bighsfootballfan says:

El Do stops the run plays smash-mouth defense are quicker at the corners than most teams Tustin has played.Tustin cant pass block for more than 5 throws agame and this my friend is the game where no passing attack is exposed and i suspect Miller will be forced to try and throw more but too little too lat and Tustin gets beat…………….EL DO 28 Tustin 21

  • MJ says:

This will be a really good game, and I expect El Do to have their (few) moments. But Tustin’s hungry and on a mission and can hardly be stopped on offense. Mr. Wilkerson & Co will have a big night, and Tustin will win the Century league title outright this year. And hopefully a CIF title.

Wilkerson puts up 300 yards and 3 TD’s….

    Tillers by 14….at least.

  • bighsfootballfan says:

Well OLU seem to stop em on offense and yes without Wilk..so dont u think the key to beating this fine Tustin team is stopping the run??? Well EL Do does it well really well and it will force more throws , i totally agree IF Wilk goes for 300 they win but i suspect he wont the fine tailback carries the ball 30+ times every week and EL Do is watching ALOT of tape of the finals last year when Tustin got beat and held to 20 8 in the box with lots of man to man on the outside will be the recipe that beats tis tustin club……Im telling ya no passing attack at some point will haunt them and this is the week they are exposed, by a very solid and smash-mouth type of ball El Do play………..

    • MJ says:

I agree. But keep in mind Wilkerson had to shoulder most of the carries in last year’s title game against La Habra because Amer Webb was hobbling around on one foot because of a badly sprained ankle; which took away a lot Tustin’s speed at that point.

Anyway, I hope Coach Miller sticks that tall kid Dominique Coultier on an island against el-do’s corners and catches some good passes and takes a couple to the house. that kid’s 6-5, long, fast and pretty athletic and will basically catch anything over those small corners. But Miller needs to throw the ball at the right time to him. As for Wilkerson, he’ll “get his money”! hahahahahahha. It’ll be a good game, and hopefully the Tillers win.

  • Canyondad says:

Canyon D held AW to 142 yds rushing, sounds like El Do’s D is similar to Canyon’s. Canyon got burned on a Tustin pass early and threw 5 picks. El Do – Tustin will be a great game but Tustin wins by 14 at least. Then El Do loses next week to Canyon and it will be:
    1 Tustin
    2 Canyon
    3 El Do
VP –Wild Card into the Playoffs?

    • newsreportter says:

canyon will not be #2 fyi becuase they wiol lose to EDHS by 14 points it has been said

    • MJ says:

….and yet, Wilkerson still reached the end zone at least 3 times. Doesn’t seem like he was actually “held” as you put it.

  • MONRACHS3232 says:

tustin wins big over whats name of that team 42 14

  • Elmo says:

It’s all about ELMO ! we’ll take it all, I mean look at our DEFENSE with 220 starting lines.

  • big balls says:

    We’r coming for yall haahahahahahahhwahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha

  • El Modena says:

    IT’S ALL ABOUT EL MODENA !!! WE’R beast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • crack kills says:

sattleback is going to rise upp and beat elmo 65 to 0…YeahYeah!!!

  • crack kills says:

Tustin will be stopped dropped and stomped on by sattleback

  • Head Hunta says:

hAHAH Tustin !? Please! Beckman gonna kill yall next year! We’r coming for yall

  • If El Do tries to pass this week their going to loss by alot

  • newsreportter says:

The game EDHS vs Tustin is the century league game of the year and WILL decide who is the best in the league and who will go onto the playoffs. Tustin is expected to win by 14 points over EDHS but what i think will be a close game with a spread by 3 points but will not know who wins

  • nojoke says:

every one of you who commented this better go to the game.!
    El dorado – 24 Tustin -21
    remember that score!

    • MJ says:

      I admire your wishful thinking.

Mr Wilkerson & Co will put up some big numbers on el-do.

      Tillers by 14…at least.

  • cholo says:

i will be there and el dorado is going to get smaashed 50 something to nothing!!
