Here are my three offensive stars for this week.
1. San Clemente QB Chase Rettig
Rettig (Boston College) completed 18 of 29 passes for 291 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Tritons to a 34-28 victory over Tesoro Thursday night. He also rushed for 46 yards in the victory.
2. Akeelie Muhammad (Cypress RB)/Anthony Wilkerson (Tustin RB)
The race is on in the county touchdown race. Muhammad put up five Thursday night, then Wilkerson answered back with four. They are now tied with 26.
3. Chris Nicholls, Servite
Nicholls gained 235 total yards (157 receiving, 78 rushing) and scored three touchdowns in Servite’s 48-26 victory over Santa Margarita.

OCVarsity Defensive Star of the Week
Tustin’s Wilkerson will win that TD battle eventually, because the Tillers will go much deeper into the playoffs than Cypress. Besides, Tustin’s competition is a bit better than Cypress’. And lets not forget Anthony Wilkerson missed the Orange Lutheran game with a bad hamstring and played only one half of football the following week.
He’s the county’s leading rusher with over 1,600 yards.
Tustin represent!
MJ, Akeelie also missing a game againt Pioneer. And the only game where he has played all four quarters was against Mater Dei. Thru 7 games AK 200 yard less rushing with 85 lesss touches. I will take nothing away from Anthony he is a tremendous athlete. You need to compare all the numbers before you start to make the comments. As for the playoffs go, I think everyone will be surprised with how far Cypress will go this year. No one has giving Cypress any credit this year for what they have accomplished.
