Hockey gives out three stars, so that’s what I’m doing this week, one is even from a losing team.
Here you go …
1. Edison Chargers defense
The Chargers returned two fumbles (Steven Malone and Wade Houston) and a blocked field goal (Luke Eddy) for touchdowns in Friday’s 27-10 victory over Edison.
2. Los Alamitos Griffins defense
The Chargers entered Friday’s game averaging 33 points a game, but failed to score an offensive touchdown against the Griffins defense. Edison only gained 123 yards.
3. Orange Lutheran LB Junior Alvarado
Just when it appeared that St. John Bosco was headed for a go-ahead touchdown, the senior linebacker forced a fumble and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown to lead the Lancers to a 24-17 victory.

OCVarsity Offensive Star of the Week
If most all posters agree with the axiom that “Defense wins championships” , then my money would be on LA in a return game. Their offense should be much more tuned by then!
That would definitely be an interesting game if the teams meet again.
I agree with both of you guys. A Charger-Griffin rematch would be cool. Too bad they are going to have to go thru Bishop Amat.
My concern with Amat is that they have two games left in the tough Serra League that will give more problems than Loyola. Crespi and Notre Dame will hold them accountable. We’ll all have to wait and see.
edison gonna do undefeated and win state……..easy
El dorado LB seth davis should be up there
