SAN CLEMENTE (4-3, 1-1) VS. TESORO (3-4, 0-2)

Where, when: Tesoro High, Thursday, 7 p.m.

Outlook: Both teams have lost to Dana Hills, and last week Tesoro got hammered by Mission Viejo, 60-14. This is a crucial game for both. Mission Viejo and Dana Hills are going to finish in the top two positions in the final South Coast standings (Dana-at-Mission is Nov. 13, the final week of the regular season). That leaves one guaranteed playoff berth in the South Coast League, and the winner of this game is in the driver’s seat for that No. 3 spot.

San Clemente lost to Dana Hills by 24 points, and Tesoro lost to Dana by three – but I still think San Clemente’s offensive versatility, with Chase Rettig at quarterback and David Espino at running back, makes the Tritons the better team.

Winner: San Clemente

San Clemente is cooked. Put a fork in them. I dont know if they can win against Capo Valley, more less Tesoro!

I dont think Tesoro will keep SC from scoring as you pointed to their offensive versatility, however I dont think SC can keep Tesoro from outscoring them. It maybe a close game, but Tesoro ahead in the end.

I usually have a gut feeling about teams. But I am drawing a complete blank on this game. Maybe it will come down to the last minutes. Should be exciting. San Clemente fans should arrive early to get parking.

Tesoro is not very good, and Ive seen SC twice this year and they look the same in both games which isnt bad but they arent gonna win a ring this year thats for sure, but they are better than Tesoro and will win.SC30 Tesoro21

I really think Tesoro is a better team overall. Their offense line is bigger and stronger. If Mason gets some time, he will do well. San Clemente’s QB has yet to live up to the hype. Maybe this will be a breakout game for him? As a Dana Hills fan, I wish his breakout game will be against Mission – haha. Both QB’s got hammered all night by Dana Hills. My guess is that the offense line will be the key factor in a win. My prediction is Tesoro wins by 10 – home field advantage.
