  • Cypress should be #3 easily. maybe # 2.

  • Bick says:

Easy there L6 girl. The Cents are fairly ranked today. We’ll find out who is actually better once the dust settles in the playoffs.

I will say this though – the #9 & 10 teams would get rolled by any of the “Other” teams

  • Cypress will not get out of 2nd round of playoffs…….La Habra,Tustin, Trabuco Hills, El Dorado, Fullerton, El Toro would beat em up so to think they may be #2 ……….cmon man!!! and cmon girls……….. a good team only but not in the class of the above mentioned so holler scream and say all u want ……BEAT SOMEBODY,PLAY SOMEBODY AND WIN, they have failed in both areas therefore there are a run of the mill good team with 1st round win 2nd round out!!

    • Bick says:

OK Sport, I’ll take the other side of that bet.

    • whatshisname says:

are you kidding me,have you seen fullerton play who lost to eldo.the only freeway team that deserves to be where they are is the clan. the other two teams would not survive in century, empire or sea view, hell I doubt they could win the garden grove league.

  • Thhfan says:

Based on the passed four years CIF league and playoff stats Cypress can not be ranked higher than Trabuco Hills. Sorry.

  • LINE SIX says:

Happy with being #4. Bicks right however 9 & 10 would get beat by all of the ‘Other’ teams. And Pacifica is in the Empire. Not Garden Grove. You’d think after being in the Empire for four years they could get it right. Guess Not. However Do I think that Trabuco Hills, El Dorado, Fullerton, El Toro would “beat us up”? No. There’s a reason we’re ranked 4. Just because it’s only our 2nd year in the SW doesn’t mean you get to overlook us. Actually. Overlook Us. Thanks.

    • Tyson says:

You are a genius, #9 & #10 would get beat by all of the other teams, I guess that’s why they aren’t #1 & #2. And you line 6 people sound like the same person. Same grammar, same sentence stucture.

      • Bick says:

Too many shots to the head Mike? The reason the “Other” teams was in quotes was to differentiate between #1-8 v. 11-14 as stated in the rankings.

So to spell this out for you, Huntington Beach, Pacifica, Kennedy and Canyon would all easily beat Troy and Savanna.

      • CYPRESS says:

THATS BECAUSE WE ARE MORE THAN A TEAM…WE ARE A TEAM AND A FAMILY!! LINE SIX…GET USED TO HEARIN IT!! YOU’LL KNOW THE WHOLE POEM BY THE END OF THE YEAR!!!!!

  • Thhfan says:

Not saying Cypress isn’t capable, it’s taken TH a few years to build it’s way up with consistant playoff status. Cypress is right there too, just has to earn it’s way past TH, that’s all.

  • Line 6 Girl says:

Well I think that we are overlooked all the time. And I think that the time that it takes us to gain respect is longer than most other teams. Our only loss this year is to Mater Dei by one touchdown and we have killed every other team we have played. Who is Trabucco Hill’s one loss to?? Bet that the team they lost to is not better than MD. That’s all I’m sayin. Our boys are better than they are given credit for. Just like we were ranked #15 our of 16 in the CIF playoffs in 2007, but we ended as #1. It looks like we are going to have to prove it in the playoffs this year, and we will, no doubt. LINE SIX!!

    • Leonidas says:

OMG will you shut up!! dang they are not given full credit because they are yet to play the two teams during the season that will give them a challenge *Kennedy and Pacifica..so until then they are not overlooked they are just looked at as they should so its not that cypress is overlooked they have yet to play there real season…so shut up!!

    • OCFBinsider says:

I think we heard this from Cypress last year when they were the #1 Team from the Empire League and lost to the #3 Team from the Century League in the first round of the playoffs 35-17.

  • LINE SIX says:

L6Girl, take it easy. let whoever say we’re not good. Are we good? Yes. Are we Consistently Good? That’s still TBD. Yes we only lost to MD by a TD. But don’t forget our 2 TD’s were on kick returns. We played poorly on Offense. And the SW division is ALOT tougher than the Southern division. We will just have to earn our respect in this year’s Ship. And respect earned is alot sweeter than respect given.

  • Line 6 girl…one good win says little about a team. The top four teams in the SW conference have proven themselves in many post season games and their current teams are loaded with playoff experiened players.

  • UHWarrior says:

The Top 5 all deserve to be there. The bottom 5 could easily switch spots and it wouldn’t make a difference. Of the top 5 I’m not sold YET, on Cypress and Fullerton. Both are one loss teams with Fullerton losing to a decent El Do squad. Cypress losing to MD would have been a quality loss any other year. MD may not make the playoffs this year.

I think Cypress will have an easy route to the playoffs. I thought Kennedy may challenge but not this year. Cypress will be king of the Empire this year. Unfortunately, Fullerton is in the same league with La Habra. LH, Tustin and THills have a really strong programs year end and year out, this year is no different. I can’t wait to see Cypress and Fullerton in the playoffs. We all know what the top 3 are capable of.

    • LINE SIX says:

A down MD team would still beat TH, El Do. However a loss is a loss. No Excuses. That’s another thing you’ll hear all the L6 fans say, Tyson. Another is Answer The Scratch. & right now LH, Tustin, and other top tier SW teams have set the scratch for saying we don’t belong. Now we must answer it.

    • whatshisname says:

come on warrior you surprize me. I dont think Ive ever disagreed with you on any thing but this time your way off.the freeway is so down this year that its like playing your scout team for 5 weeks for the clan, and thats including fulerton. the tribe would not beat el toro, villa park and they lost to el do.their qb is really in danger in week ten with that line they have .arkansas may have to reconsider after the pounding he will take in that one.

  • CypFan says:

i think you guys need to take it easy on Line Six Girl. she is just a true cypress girl. she is blindly loyal to her team and some of the points she makes are valid. what she said about the one loss thing. is trabucco’s one loss better than cypress’ one loss? did they truly lose to a team better than mater dei?? line six girl is bold, just like all Centurions!!

    • Bick says:

Trabuco has played a tougher schedule overall – plain and simple. You can’t just evaluate the one loss and forget about who the wins were against.

It’s OK to be blindly loyal, but if you are myopic, you will take some arrows.

  • EDfann says:

UH warrior.. i think ur forgetting about el dorado in the mix. there just as strong as a program as any in the top 3 hands down.. maybe u forgot that every year they have a strong team also..my prediction, CIF championship game, el dorado vs. trabucco hills in the rematch of the 2007 CIF championship game. el do won 13 – 12 just a note

  • UHWarrior says:

El Do is 4-2 with losses against a weak Tesoro squad, and a decent Glendora Tartan team. I did not forget EL Do they were SW champs in 2007 and they were picked to win it all again in 2008. But, they got beat (barely), by a strong Champion La Habra team. I believe El Do was favored in that game. However,I think they had a better team last year than this year. They won’t get by the Tustin’s “Ironmen” this year. But you never know they might surprise some folks in the playoffs.

  • Thhfan says:

It’s all like de ja vu…Cypress crying justice like La Habra did. La Habra has built their case and is now in the Top 10 but it took a few years. Cypress has to go through the same process…prove it over time and build your standings. Plain and simple you have to be patient and wait your turn, if you are consistent you’ll get there, there’s no over night success stories here.

  • nah dude!!!! says:

Man Cypress is the only Empire team there. Valencia aint what it used to be anymore, Kennedy is so-so and Pacifica is supposed to be better than what they are right now, these schools need to get their guts checked, espicially my alma mater Valencia. Empire league where you at?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!!?

  • RebelFan says:

I think you need to keep your eyes on the RED HOT REBELS!!!!! this team is no joke this year!!!

    • Fooseball says:

Sorry, but thanks for playing. Maybe next year.

    • pj says:

I had the honor to watch Savanna play against Troy earler in the season. After watching them I thought that I would not want to go up against them in the playoffs. They have the speed and will suprise people. Good luck

  • xedgex says:

cypress fans are the cockiest people ever it makes me laugh. wait till you guys play pacifica

    • JJ says:

at least we have somehting to be cocky about.

we’re just that much better than you!!

and pacifica…please…our warmup for the CIF playoffs.

      • LINE SIX says:

JJ you better re-think your strategy there. Pacifica is a good team and can/will beat us if we overlook them. ala 2006. & we haven’t beaten anyone really good yet. We had the opportunity against MD but didn’t finish.

“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.”

Please JJ take that to heart before you go spouting off, especially when you’re representing LINE SIX.

    • mariner4life says:

heck yea it gonna be a good gameeee(: be there prob the game off the year gonna determine leagueee(: ortiz shouldntt even be going to cypress he lives next to pacifica his brother went Pacifica while ortiz was a freshman at cypress how is that possible when they live together is it a true transfer?

  • annnd?? says:

that week tesoro squad would win this division if they were in it.

    • And?? Ur Dumb. says:

Tesoro would get beat by Tustin & LH easily. I can’t speak for TH. But I saw Tesoro and Cypress in passing league against each other and Cypress beat them by two TD’s.

  • JB says:

    # 4 is a fair ranking for Cypress. But no way they even come close to competing with LaHabra or Tustin. Out of their league.

  • Tapia says:

what happen to Kevin Ortega? is he injured

    • LINE SIX says:

There’s lots of Ortegas. If you mean Ruben Ortega from Western, I think he broke his leg a couple weeks ago. If someone can confirm that it’d be appreciated. IDK any other Ortegas

      • Hager says:

•Bad news about an excellent football player: Western senior running back/linebacker Ruben Ortega underwent surgery Monday that inserted a rod into his left leg. Ortega suffered a fractured fibula and tibia from being tackled in the Pioneers’ loss to Marina at Westminster High.

  • cypkenalum21 says:

Cypress fans maybe cocky but if we dont think highly of ourselves who else will. If you think about money mayweather one of the cockiest boxers youll find…everyone hates him no one can beat him. Cypress has not been tested so far this season but they have shown throughout the season that they are a very well rounded team. This recent game they showed that they are able to attack offensively whether it is on the ground or in the air. Defensively they are playing well also. The only worry I have is at the saftey position. Neither one of those players seem to be playing with the intensity of last years safety duo T Morris and Shawn Hansen. I do believe this week they will overcome those First varsity season jitters however. Another option is to try AK out on the other side of the ball. How bad could it be the kids an athlete. But my worry is his lungs. Great preparation for the next level.

Let the players play and everyone else shut up! Who cares if your a parent or you go to one of these schools…if your not on a football team and actually play, quit arguing. Let us do our talking on the field and prove ourselves there. Words dont mean a damn thing.

  • ENCORE says:

Looks like it’s time for me to represent. I know I’m ancient but I remember like it’s yesterday. Back in my day the boundry line was Orangewood, everyone south went to Pacifica, everyone north went to Cypress. I would hate to see Cypress get in any trouble for this but if he lives in Pacifica’s boundries then he should have gone there all of these years??? ElDorado, Norwalk, California, J Serra, are all good teams that the Mariner’s had to play there first 4 games. Some teams would have given up after that rough start but not Pacifica. This team and past teams have always had heart and don’t give-up. We were taught to play with Sportsmanship and Class always. We were coached to play Clean and Fair. This week is the battle for another League Title for the Mighty Pacifica Mariner’s. Lets play like we know how. Win or Loose the Mariner’s are alway’s Champions to me. I live my life that way. Remember the “Crunchbunch”, and play like Champions.

  • whatshisname says:

cant wait for playoffs. looks like clan and cypress are headed towards a show down if rankings determin brackets. looks like orange league will be 1st round fodder for top 8. kennedy may be out after loss to valencia and may be hard to get at large
