Is it me or OCvarsity has fell off tremendously when it comes to high school football coverage!! I try to navigate through there site to find out about certain results and all i could find is Servite, Tesoro, Mission Viejo, Mater Dei, and Orange Lutheran …… oh and Edison, couldnt leave them out!! Thats why I choose to really never come to this site anymore!! Step your game up OCvarsity, your losing readers by the day!!
18 – The number of Tustin players that suited up to play on Thursday night. And they dominated with the game being 28-7 going into the 4th.
Coach Miller actually won a CIF title at Costa Mesa with only 18 players before he came to Tustin. It’s time he repeated that feat one more time.
Go Tillers.
country that must suck having to have tustin players play both ways
Yes, especially when they face a team that wears them down and beats them.
I agree with Unhappy Reader, it’s very hard to navigate and look for scores, coverage….ect! Format is poor! Other than that really enjoy the OC football coverage.
I’ve said it earlier that I definitely admire Tustin’s “iron man” football. In this day and age when every player is specialist at their one position it is kinda refreshing seeing that there are still kids out there with enough talent and heart to play both offense and defense. I always thought that Tustin had 1-3 players going both ways but not 8-9 guys. For a kid to learn one position and be good at it is one thing but learn two is that much more difficult. Stamina and staying healthy is the key to success (injuries not so good). Tustins players are the definition of a “strong” team. The coaching staff has to work that much harder to make sure their players know their assignments on both sides of the ball.
With a small team each player is vital for success, each guy has to perform week end and week out. It will definitely build a close-knit group (this would be the true meaning of “Cypress HS’s Line-six”).
Congrats to Tustin, it’s amazing that with a small squad they are rarely the “underdog” in their games. Another tribute to the coaching staff.
Another thing that amazes me about Tustin is that they run the Wing-T offense, everybody knows it, everybody prepares for it . But nobody can stop it (so far). They challenge teams every year, “this is what we do, stop us if you can”. Unbelievable.
Well-said. I remember those days 10 years ago when I was at THS. Our team went about 25-30 players strong.
Dana Has at least 7 guys going both ways, probably more.
Why would Dana Hills have 7+ guys going both ways when they have a team roster of 46? (Almost double that of Tustin). What do the other 30+ guys do on that team?
That’s funny you ask that….because coach Miller at Tustin has never been a fan of carrying a team of 40-plus players because most of them don’t play anyway, and it would just take up too much room on the sidelines as he used to put it. And still does! hahahahhahahahha.
Keep an eye on Ragland from Fountain Valley, the boy is for real.He is the kind of QB you want leading you down the field when the game is on the line. F.V. is gonna be tough to beat…look for them to still be standing at the end of league play.
la habra one more time
