football_blog4The best games on the Week 7 schedule:

No. 14 Trabuco Hills (5-1, 1-0) vs. Huntington Beach (4-2, 1-0)
Thursday at Huntington Beach High, 7 p.m.

Outlook: The Mustangs scored 17 consecutive points last week to rally to a 24-21 Sea View League victory over El Toro. Mitch Murar kicked a 40-yard field goal as time expired for the victory.

Running back Shane DeCillo posted his best performance of the season with 208 yards and two touchdowns. DeCillo has rushed for 538 yards and Dylan Buononato has gained 534 yards, giving the Mustangs a good 1-2 punch.

Will the Oilers be able to slow them down?

Huntington Beach went the distance in its league opener last week against Foothill. Huntington Beach running back Jack Dilbeck scored a 1-yard touchdown to lead the Oilers to a 30-29 double overtime victory over Foothill.

The Oilers, who were the preseason pick to finish fourth in the Sea View League, enter the week on a four-game wining streak.

Dilbeck has been one of the reasons why. He has rushed for 798 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in five games. He posted his lowest total (51 yards) last week.

Can he get back on track against the Mustangs?

Trabuco won’t fall behind this time around.

true true i think after last weeks near lost to el toro the mustangs should come out with guns blazing

Trabuco Hills should take this one from HB. HB got lit up by an average Villa Park squad (yes, 5-1 is average considering who they played, their one loss was to a mediocre Cal High team from Whittier). HB really struggled with Marina, and the Vikings are not very good. HB does have home field advantage though, which may prove to be more than THills can overcome. THills have beaten a good Gahr HS team and a tough El Toro squad. Their one loss, which was a shalacking from San Clemente was a tough loss.

    Mustangs 28- Oilers 14

Trabuco is back at full strenght and ready to roll as they did last year before losing a thriller to La Habra in the semi’s, HB almost doesnt have a chance Trabuco will run for more than 350 with the 2 talented backs and roll over HB 45-10

  • Thhfan says:

I wouldn’t say HB will give up 45 points but maybe 35. It will be a good game, HB hasn’t beat TH since 2005…they’re hungry.
    TH 35 – HB 14

  • BMORTON says:

Last year, HB placed in league for the first time in 15 or so years by beating El Toro. This year, Trabuco Hills barely beat El Toro and Huntington is on a 4-game winning streak. HB did not have trouble against Marina, winning by more than 20. Trabuco Hills has always had great football teams. I doubt they will let down, and they will be tough to beat. I think this game will be a shootout and will come down to defense.
