
All-County guard Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis of Mater Dei committed to UConn, and her teammate Alex Thomas committed to Cal State Fullerton, Mater Dei girls basketball assistant coach Christine Collins-Kiernan confirmed Monday.
Mosqueda-Lewis, a junior, played on the 2009 USA women’s under-16 national team this past summer. Mater Dei’s Jordan Adams and Alexyz Vaioletama and Brea Olinda’s Justine Hartman also played on the national team, which won the 2009 FIBA Americas under-16 championship.
Mosqueda-Lewis was the Gatorade California Player of the Year and a first team Parade All-American as a sophomore. UConn won the NCAA women’s basketball championship in 2009.
Is she the first county girl to go to Connecticut?
Lauren Engeln, of Laguna Hills HS, has verballed to UConn and is a 2010. So she will be there a year ahead of Kaleena.

what did he say [I asume your talking anderson]. yeah I checked troys roster on oc varsity and alot of freshmen ,and missing returning soph lauren trujillo,and since shes not on breas roster she must have gone to yorba since thats where she lives. talked to sonora player who siad all returners are back which makes since since theyd lose elgibility, so it must have been all the crap load of freshmen on their summer team.hmm didnt that happen last year. sonora must be sinks minor league affilliate.
