Here is my pick for OCVarsity Offensive Star of the Week.
Orange Lutheran QB Mike Markovsky
Markovsky, who has been filling in for the sick and injured starting quarterback Bobby Wheatley, had his best night in the biggest game Friday night. Markovsky, a junior, completed 17 of 21 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a score in the Lancers’ 28-25 victory.
Markovsky engineered the winning drive, going 78 yards, ending with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Turner with 15 seconds left.

He played well, actually he played great! But to be honest I don’t think he is the player of the week. I don’t agree with this being the biggest game of the night. You had another classic being played in the SCL with Dana and Tesoro going at it and that game ending in a 37-34 score. The back-2-back defending champion went down in that league setting up the opportunity for a new league champ.
We all know O’Lu still has to beat Servite before they earn any credit.
Great game by two very young and talented teams.
My vote for the week goes to Akeelie Mohammad of Cypress, with a close second in Victor Blackwell.
You are crazy! AK was the most dominant back I have ever seen in 16 years of coaching.
