In the Sunset League:
No. 1 Los Alamitos 3, Fountain Valley 0: The top-ranked Griffins (18-4, 2-0) received nine kills from Caroline Holmquist to highlight a 25-14, 25-12, 25-9 victory over the Barons at Los Alamitos High.
No. 2 Newport Harbor 3, Esperanza 0: The duo of Kirby Burnham and Katey Thompson combined for 34 kills, while Cinnamon Asry added 30 assists to lead the Sailors (14-3) past the Aztecs 31-29, 25-11, 25-16 at Esperanza High. Kelly Heenan produced 12 digs for Newport Harbor.
In the Trinity League:
No. 5 Santa Margarita 3, Rosary 0: The Eagles (12-8, 2-0) swept the Royals 25-15, 25-12, 25-13 at Santa Margarita High.
In the Pacific Coast League:
No. 7 Corona del Mar 3, Irvine 0: Hailey Senske led the Sea Kings with seven kills, and Megan Griffin and Madison Smith combined for 27 assists to guide Corona Del Mar past the Vaqueros 25-10, 25-22, 25-16 at Corona de Mar High.
University 3, Laguna Hills 0: Isabelle Emrich had 14 kills, four aces, four digs, and four blocks, while Kristina Pelekoudas dished out 23 assists and contributed five blocks, as the Trojans won their second straight league match, knocking off the Hawks 25-13, 25-13, 25-23 at Laguna Hills High.
In the Freeway League:
No. 7 Troy 3, Sunny Hills 0: With Maddy Barrett leading the way with 15 kills, the Warriors (14-3, 2-0) had little trouble defeating the Lancers 25-3, 25-6, 25-12 at Sunny Hills High.
La Habra 3, Sonora 0: Tessa Martin had a team-high 17 kills, while Nicole Desatoff added nine, as the Highlanders defeated the Raiders 25-13, 25-15, 25-19 at Sonora High. Shelly Pine added 32 assists, while Martin and Adriana Moore combined for 42 digs for La Habra.
In the Empire League:
Valencia 3, Katella 1: Casey Hinger put down a team-high 20 kills, while Maggie Hutcherson added 17 kills, as the Tigers (7-7, 1-1) evened their league record with a 25-14, 25-27, 25-17, 25-20 victory over the Knights at Valencia High.
In the Orange League:
Western 3, Savanna 0: Darshana Taafua paced the Pioneers (8-2, 2-0) with 10 kills, as Western swept the Rebels 25-7, 25-11, 25-7 at Savanna High.
In the South Coast League:
Dana Hills 3, Capistrano Valley 0: Behind 10 kills from Katie Swartzdugh, the host Dolphins (7-8, 1-1) picked up their first league win of the season with a sweep over the Cougars 25-23, 25-22, 25-15.
