  • OCpride says:

are you kidding me… fullerton in front of el dorado ??
look back at week 2.. and el dorado played tesoro very evenly..wrong polls this week

  • the kid says:

LH #2? Tustin lost to a 1-3 O Lu team. LH lost to a 4-0 Los Al…need i say more? Tustin do have wilkerson who avgs a billion yards a game. but thats because they run the Double Wing-T. Which means they are going to run the ball about 99% of the time.

  • MJ says:

Kid-O Lu wasn’t 1-3 when they played Tustin, and Tustin didn’t have Wilkerson for that game. Big difference!

  • Beach says:

La Habra should still be #1
Cypress should be in the top 5 at least
El Dorado should be in front of Fullerton
    This one is messed up.

  • freeway looker! says:

gotta love the polls!…as jacked up that they are, gotta love it!

  • bighsfootballfan says:

Polls look ok to me Tustin has the best player in the county and la Habra sure looked young the other night at Los Al, i think if the top 6 flipped-flopped and played it would be good football, but none of these schools are in the class of a Pac-5 school im sorry to say, Los Al dominated la Habra and i was totally wrong that la Habra could play with them, can anybody stop Wilkerson this year except injury???? dont think so not eve Los Al

    • eric says:

      Hey Big,

Did you see Mater Dei vs. Cypress? Cypress had the lead with 5 min. to play and had a chance to win on the last play of the game.

  • whatshisname says:

ntk who are fullertons wins against

  • UHwarrior says:

At this point the polls seem to be okay, I think everyone in the top ten deserves to be there. (a team to watch is Sunny Hills). The top four I beleive will flip flop amongst themselves the entire year. I still think LH and Tustin are the teams to beat though. But, you gotta admit Tustin’s Wing-T offense is pretty antiquated. You shut down the run and that’s it, you stop Tustin. Their passing is non-existent just like it was last year. However, who going to stop Wilkerson? At this point no one. I do beleive LH’s loss to Los Al (4-0)is a better than Tustin’s loss to a 1-3 OLu. Yes, OLu has lost some tough ones, but I think Los Al would dispatch OLu easier than they did LH. I can’t wait for the playoffs.

  • Country says:

    Wtf ?

    - Fullerton and VP should not be in front of ElDo.

    - Though I do like seeing Tustin at #1. They shouldn’t be there just because La Habra lost to LosAl. That’s a quality loss that should have kept at #1. It’s like last year’s final standings where Foothill was #1 and La Habra #2 because of their win-loss record.

    - “Their passing is non-existent just like it was last year.”

I don’t know about that. 5 games in and we already have more passing yards than last year. Hell, 63 yards is all that separates our passing offense from Los Al’s.

    - “I do beleive LH’s loss to Los Al (4-0)is a better than Tustin’s loss to a 1-3 OLu. ”

    OLu’s non league opponents records = 15-4
    LosAl’s non league opponents records = 8-14

    - “but I think Los Al would dispatch OLu easier than they did LH.”

I agree with this. The current OLu would get smacked around.

  • whatshisname says:

still want to know who fullerton has beaten do deserve being ranked above eldo, cypress, and eltoro

  • lhfan says:

week 10 is only one that matters it should be alot clearer

  • No love? says:

    I agree with whatshisname …
Who has fullerton played besides a one point victory over canyon?
I know Fryer agrees … he has a them ranked #24 I believe and El Toro, Cypress, and Eldo are ahead of them

  • lhfan says:

looks like lh tustin th in are a little better than rest we will have comparison after lh beats sc

  • warmheart says:

Lh beats SC that would be great..but I picked up my son yesterday and I saw alot of injured players/ he told me starters…how many????

  • Your voting was on te money although i havent seen Cypress or El Toro play but ill go along with your opinion of these clubs,…………..to Country i agree with your assement of the Tillers paassing attack but it is waht it is, im just so impressed with Wilkerson that i thinkthey can ride him all the way home, i didnt feel this way earlier in the year but after watching La Habra defense and how young their talent is i think Tustin would be a very very tough match-up for the La Habra defense and i still like alot.

  • LemB says:

Country pretty much has it right..
My top 10 for SW Division

1)La Habra (they know how to beat Tustin)
2Tustin (Can beat everyone but La Habra)
3)T.Hills (Only other SW Div. Team that could beat LH or Tustin)
    4)Cypress (Almost beat Mater Dei)
5)El Dorado (Very good line, playoff pedigree, hung in there with Tesoro)
6)El Toro (Can beat everyone below the top 5)
7)Villa Park (Strong D against the run, balanced offense, improved coaching)
    8)Kennedy (Passing game beats Canyon/Fullerton)
9)Fullerton (haven’t played anyone except El Dorado and lost)
    10)Canyon (Strong D, only 2 wins are against Foothill 0-5, Western 0-4)

SW Division is down this year, I actually don’t think Tustin or La Habra are as good as last years teams. T. Hills is solid again this year and could have a nice playoff run and win the whole thing.
El Toro, VP, Kennedy are improved.

  • CYPfan says:

what does cypress have to do to get into the top 5. i just don’t get it. it seems like at the end of the season, right when fryer (county rankings as well) starts to buy into to LINE 6, the next season rolls around and he shoves us right back down again.

  • MJ says:

folks, O Lu’s record was 1-2 when they played tustin. NOT 1-3! And keep in mind that Wilkerson wasn’t available for that game because of injury, so be too quick to compare their loss to LH’s. The best player in county (wilkerson) wasn’t playing that night. Big difference!

    Later folks

  • MJ says:

Correction, DON’T be so quick to compare tustin’s loss to lh’s….

  • TB says:

Sunny Hiils has perhaps the most elusive running back in the county in Jae Byun. Sunny could easily climb into the top 10.

    • freeway looker! says:

And who has Sunny hills played? NO ONE!……any back can look good against a weak team!

      • TB says:

freeway looker, “any back can look good…..” since you obviously have not seen Jae carry the ball, learn to keep your opinions to things that you know about instead of things that you don’t.

Remember, it’s never too late to be smart!

  • Leonidas says:

There are a lot of cypress fans, i’ll give it to you guys, your good, you’ll probably win your league but lose one in league, but your playmaker (ak muhummad) should be put at his rightful position of receiver, he was brought up in a spread offense maybe then you could finally go through league unscaved??

    • That is an interesting point. I think the reason we have kept him in the backfield is for a balance. With weapons in Cohen and Rivera as receivers, AK definitely keeps the double threat going so we are balanced both in the air and on the ground, although AK does catch an occasional pass. I think that Selbe played with him a little more both ways than the new coordinator does this year. But he is a playmaker whatever he does. Also, he does not have the most consistent hands compared to our other receivers. But I can see where you are coming from. Plain and simple, he is a threat no matter where he is. Irvine, Kennedy and Pacifica should be big this year, and then bring on La Habra. Line Six Football is ready.

  • UHwarrior says:

Huh?! El Do should be ranked above Fullerton and Villa Park? El Do is 2-1-1, tying a lousy Pacifica team (perennial losers), and losing to a mediocre Tesoro team, that will most likely not make the play-offs this year. (they’ll lose their next three games). El Do’s only quality win was a close game against Fullerton who is 4-1. El Do is ranked high due to their reputation they are overrated and will lose this week to the Glendora Tartans.

Villa Park is undefeated and will remain undefeated until they match up against Tustin. If anyone in league can stop Tustin it will be Villa Park. Fullerton and Villa Park over El Do, yes I think so.

    • ballboy says:

I really dont care where El Dorado is in the rankings right now. The only thing that matters is winning league, and doing some damage in the playoffs. The El Do vs Fullerton game was not close. El Do was up 27-7 going into the 4th quarter. Fullerton is a good team. Villa Park is much better then last year, but they haven’t played anybody yet. Oh yea, Tesoro could very easily make it to the playoffs this year.

  • UHwarrior says:

I don’t see Tesoro beating Dana Hills, Mission Viejo, or San Clemente this year. If they make the play-offs it sure won’t be easy.

  • Line 6 says:

ALRIGHT CYPRESS!! keep blowing teams like University out by 30+ points. I really don’t know what we have to do to get to the top. Looks like we’ll have to go undefeated in the Empire…again. And maybe win another CIF Championship like in 2007…again. That seems to be the only way we can gain the respect we deserve.

  • A TEAM AND A FAMILY!!

  • Cypress Girl says:

let’s go boys!! best team in the county. we’ll show em. when we win CIF, everyone will be surprised…but not us.

    LINE SIX FOR LIFE~

  • Leonidas says:

Line Six, its not that his hands are inconsistent, cuz if he plays DB then obviously wouldn’t ya think?? but the fact is that if that big line man is as good as advertised the two receivers you mentioned and AK would be much more of a threat with whoever at RB, cuz spread the field = more holes for a mediocre RB to run through..i just feel that personally you guys should take your BYE week before Kennedy or Pacifica. Just remember respect is earned not given (by earned i mean year in year out not just oh two years ago we won C.I.F. cuz no one cares its all about the C.I.F. rings this year!!), and AK great idea leaving Artesia!! Just in time..lol

  • albert says:

SANTA ANA VALEY WILL SURPRISE EVEYONE THIS YEAR

  • whoknows says:

La Habra will be back on top – #1 Clan Champions

    • cypstudent says:

yeah until you meet up with the Cents in the CIF championship.

its as simple as a math problem

Line Six > “Clan” ……. or whatever you guys want to call yourselves.

  • coast says:

    CYP,
    THE PLACE TO BE
YOU’RE EITHER OUT OR YOU’RE IN,
    WE’RE GONNA GET THE WIN,
    NOT “I” OR “ME”,
    A TEAM AND A FAMILY,
AND LIKE A FAMILY WE MIX,
    WE ARE LINE SIX.

  • Squeakz says:

I agree wit u Albert… Teams lookin much better every week..never underestemate the falcons..best of luck to all the falcons. Keep workin hard n finish wat we started years ago… Good luk tommorow and beat garden groove !

  • L64L says:

    LINE SIX FOR LIFE!!

  • whatshisname says:

what is line 6 and dont forget that other team from cypress in the empire

  • whoknows says:

Line 6 – take a look at the paragraph on the second page, line 6 from the book “You Must be Dreaming”

    LH #1

  • Cypress Girl says:

good one whoknows….you’re really a clever guy.

and “whatshisname”…there is only one team in cypress so i dont really know what you are talking about??

La Habra is average. at best. i recall that Cypress won in passing league against LH this summer, well i think we’re ready to put on the pads against your pop warner team now…bring it.

btw…you’ll never understand LINE SIX…you need to be from Cypress to get it . It’s not a sometimes thing, it’s an all the time thing.

    LINE SIX!!

    • whatshisname says:

excuse me your right it just sits there a stones throw away across the street,my bad,how dare I associate the fighting Irish with that proud city of cypress that loses its real studs to los al anyway.

      • i agree. how dare you associate us with kennedy or any other school for that matter. we are cypress and we are damn proud to be Centurions. we would love to play los al, it would add an easy game to our schedule. and would much rather lose in orange and blue than win in any other colors.

Line Six~ you just don’t get it. that’s why you could never be one of us.

    • dofa60 says:

Cypress girl, R U calling back 2 back CIF champions LA HABRA a pop warner team? You clearly demonstrate your’e lack of football knowledge by stating that LA HABRA is “averageat best”. You base this on a summer passing league that you think you “won”.You clearly don’t know what your’e talking about!!! Many have called out the highlanders and many have failed so be careful what you wish for !!!!!!!

  • jrg'10 says:

    Marching onto VICTORY,

  • CYPKID says:

    Line 6 boys!!

  • stuco says:

oh cypress high we honor thee!!

Cypress high school…it’s not for everyone.

  • stuco says:
