We’ve got an update from tonight’s game between No. 3 Servite and Chaparral of Temecula.
Brian Smith, who is covering the game for OCVarsity.com, checks in with this report from Temecula, where he says there is a “playoff-like atmosphere” at Chaparral High. (He also notes that it’s very chilly.)
After a wild, TD-filled second quarter, Servite goes into the break leading, 21-7.
The contest was scoreless in the first quarter, but the Friars got on the scoreboard early in the second on Sean DeRosa’s 10-yard run. And that started a scoring explosion between the two teams.
Servite also scored on a 78-yard run by QB Cody Fajardo and a 2-yard run by Jody Thomas. Chaparral scored its TD through the air.
Fajardo has five rushes for 122 yards.
Check back later tonight for a final score, plus a full story and stats from the contest.
