Outlook: There might not be a tougher league in the county than the Sunset, where four teams are currently ranked in the county top 10. 2008 champion and current county No. 1 Los Alamitos, led by 2008 second team all-county selection Jane Croson and Emily Hartong claimed the Dave Mohs Division I title last month, and has the talent to beat any team in the county. Newport Harbor, currently ranked No. 1 in the CIF-SS Division I coaches poll and No. 3 in the county defeated everyone in league except for Los Al a season ago, and recently advanced to the title match of the prestigious Durango tournament in Las Vegas. Edison and Esperanza have both played solid volleyball to begin the year and are eyeing an opportunity to make a run at the league, while Marina should also be much improved from a season ago and could be in the mix for a playoff berth.
