Sunset League

Outlook: It had been almost two decades since Los Alamitos didn’t win the league championship until it finished in third behind Newport Harbor and Esperanza last year. The Griffins lost three matches on games during league play. With the defending singles champion back in Tricia Mar, the Griffins are set up to edge the Sailors this year and take their title back. This league presents perhaps the most interesting fight for the playoffs. While Newport Harbor and Los Al figure to fight for first, Esperanza and Edison could surprise anybody. But the fact remains one team isn’t making the playoffs. The Aztecs finished in second a season ago, but the Chargers might have a gained just enough ground to sneak past.
