Outlook: Troy has history on its side. The Warriors are going for their 14th consecutive league championship. They haven’t lost a league match in that span. However, Troy is outside the top 10 for the first time in a few seasons. Does that give the rest of the league any hope? Fullerton finished ahead of Sunny Hills for second place last season, and with Alexandra Lim back is poised to stay in front of the Lancers once more. Sunny Hills should be able to make the playoffs again.

2008 singles champion: Stephanie Villajuan (Troy)

Factoid: Troy won the CIF-SS Division II championship in 2005, the last by the school. The Warriors defeated La Quinta of La Quinta, 11-7.

Prediction (with last year’s playoff result):

1. Troy (lost to Corona del Mar quarterfinals)

2. Fullerton (lost to University first round)

3. Sunny Hills (lost to Laguna Beach first round)

4. La Habra (n/a)

5. Sonora (n/a)

6. Buena Park (n/a)
