Here’s what I submitted for this week’s poll, with brief comments why.

Feel free to leave comments on how you see the teams stacking up.

1. Los Alamitos: Griffins captured the Dave Mohs on Monday, and though they finished 15th at Durango (where Newport ended second) they haven’t lost to a team in the county yet.

2. Corona del Mar: While other teams went tournament-bound, CdM didn’t After second place at Dave Mohs, it’s hard to move them down despite how well Newport Harbor did.

3. Newport Harbor: Sailors jump up from No. 5 last week, and could be heading to No. 1 soon enough.

4. Santa Margarita: Tough call for the No. 4 spot. El Dorado definitely has a strong argument for it. I’m just going with my gut.

5. El Dorado: Golden Hawks have more than proven they are a top-5 team in the county.

6. Orange Lutheran: Lancers are going to be able to play with anyone. Could be moving up quickly.

7. Troy: Warriors have big game this week against Beckman.

8. Esperanza: I had Aztecs No. 8 last week. No change.

9. Edison: I had Edison No. 9 last week. No change, though Chargers’ victory over Capistrano Valley knocked the Cougars from my top 10.

10. Huntington Beach: Replaced the Oilers with Capistrano Valley.
