What happened: Troy won all nine singles sets to get past Orange Lutheran, 14-4, in nonleague play Tuesday afternoon at Troy High.
Records: Troy 3-1; OLu 2-2
Impact: The match was a good barometer for the Lancers. The Warriors are a tough bunch, and will help OLu prepare for Trinity League action. Troy is currently out of the top 10 for the first time in a few seasons. They are among a handful of teams on the cusp. Continued improvement could have them inside the top 10 comes season’s end.
Match of the day: Allison Radde (Troy) vs. Megan Sandford (Lutheran). Radde entered the match unbeaten so far this season. Sandford had a 5-4 lead, yet Radde was able to take the final three games and the set, 7-5.
High fives to …: Troy’s Camille DeLeon and Victoria Vo. The Warriors’ No. 2 and 3 singles players lost just 13 games in six sets.
Note: OLu played without No. 1 singles player Kaitlyn Christian, who was in New Mexico competing in an ITF event.
