The Top Six Games for Week 3:
No. 4 Orange Lutheran (1-1) vs. Redlands East Valley (2-0)
Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Orange Coast College
Outlook: Will a Trinity League team knock off the top-ranked team in the Inland Division for the second consecutive week? Last week, Mater Dei upended top-ranked Centennial of Corona, 31-13. This week, the Wildcats have settled atop the division and here comes the Lancers.
Orange Lutheran defeated Tustin, 46-20 last week. Quarterback Bobby Wheatley was on fire, completing his first 14 passes, finishing 25 of 29 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a score.
Brandon Turner had 145 receiving yards. It was a great performance by the Lancers, considering how things went in their first game of the season, a 28-14 loss to Pickerington Central of Ohio.
The Wildcats have defeated Clovis East (39-13) and San Gorgonio (56-10) this season. Quarterback Tyler Shreve has completed 61.1 percent of his passes (22 of 36) for 313 yards and five touchdowns. He has also rushed for 109 yards.
A.J. Fernandez leads the Wildcats with 204 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards.
Can the Lancers defense slow down the Wildcats? Will Wheatley carve up the REV defense?
