Outlook: Welcome to the Valencia High Derby.
The Golden Hawks will be the home team in this meeting. Valencia captured the Bell last season with a 17-16 victory thanks to a 22-yard field goal from Jesse Sandoval. El Dorado led 13-0 at halftime of that game.
El Dorado started the season with a 13-13 tie with Pacifica. The Golden Hawks, ranked fourth in the Southwest Division, earned their first victory last week with a 27-21 victory over Fullerton.
Brock Dunn rushed for 147 yards last week, thanks to the play of the El Dorado offensive line led by senior Derek Stickney. Quarterback Andreas Ambuehl completed 10 of 15 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for one.
Valencia, which is sixth in this week’s CIF poll, started the season with a 22-7 loss to Villa Park. The Tigers rebounded with a 16-6 victory over Western. Omar Perez scored a pair of touchdowns in the victory. He finished with 160 yards.
