Top Six Games to Watch for Week 3:
No. 25 Canyon (1-2) vs. No. 23 Foothill (0-3)
Friday, 7 p.m., at El Modena High
Outlook: Here are two Southwest Division teams in need of a victory.
Canyon would like an easy victory, especially after the way the season has started for the Comanches: a 21-20 loss to Fullerton, a 17-14 victory over Western and a 21-20 loss to Glendora.
Three games all decided by a total of five points!
On the other side of the field, Foothill just needs a victory. The Knights have lost all three games by at least 14 points.
Canyon quarterback Beau Perry is off to a good start, completing 64.6 percent of his passes (31 of 48) and five touchdowns. All five of Perry’s touchdowns have gone to Nick Prescott, who is second in the county in receiving yards (304).
Foothill has struggled running the ball. Senior quarterback Aaron Dupin has completed 47.1 percent of his passes (41 of 87) for 608 yards and six touchdowns. He also has thrown five interceptions.
If the Knights are able to establish a ground game, then that would take some of the burden off of Dupin on offense.
Will the Knights be able to keep Prescott out of the end zone?
Is this the week the Canyon coaching staff gets a breather?
Or will Foothill finally get in the winning column?
No. 3 Edison vs. No. 1 Servite
No. 21 Corona del Mar vs. No. 11 Newport Harbor
No. 4 Orange Lutheran vs. Redlands East Valley
El Toro vs. No. 19 Laguna Hills
Always a pretty good match-up with great school spirit from both schools Foothill seems down a bit as does Canyon so in a tight one gonna go with Canyon 31-21
