Calhoun’s Games to Watch: Edison vs. Dana Hills

September 15th, 2009, 11:00 pm · · posted by

football_blog4Taking a look at the best games of Week 2:

No. 3 Edison (2-0) vs. No. 14 Dana Hills (2-0)
Thursday, 7 p.m., at Dana Hills High

Outlook: The Dolphins are off to another 2-0 start under Coach Brent Melbon, having defeated Santa Margarita and El Toro. Can they get to 3-0?

Last season, Edison dominated Dana Hills on the way to a 48-20 victory. That was with Dana Hills quarterback Sean Schroeder and his band of receivers.

Dana Hills has adopted a two-quarterback system this season with Josh Dean and Trent Mason. Dean has completed 62.2 percent of his passes and three touchdowns. Mason has completed all four of his passes and two touchdowns.

He also has intercepted three passes on defense, so Edision should fear this guy.

The Chargers have thoroughly dominated their first two opponents (Artesia and Long Beach Wilson), winning both games by a combined score of 71-6.

Things get interesting for the Chargers after this week. They will play Servite and Mater Dei on consecutive weeks.

Will they get caught looking ahead?

If Dana wins, please don’t say Edison was “caught looking ahead.” Don’t discount what Dana has done to prepare for this game. Thank you.

Yea, didn’t like the no 14 ranking you gave these guys this week. so when Dana wins, put them in the top 10 where they belong instead of lowering edisen and discounting the win.

FYI… DANA is 2-0 with wins over SM and EL TORO (not Foothill)… Can’t Dana get any respect….
