La Habra is still No. 1 in the Southwest Division, but the rest of the top four has changed.
Pacifica and El Dorado played to a tie on Friday, and now they’re tied in the rankings.
They both actually moved up after the tie … amazing.
Valencia, last week’s No. 2, lost and dropped far.

Cypress hangs with Mater Dei and completely drops out the top 10. What’s up with that ? Yeah I know Mater Dei isn’t “the” Mater Dei of old. But still, it’s Mater freakin’ Dei. El Modena, Katella & Savanna couldn’t hang with Cypress.
Everything else looks right.
In lieu of the tragedy that occured, imy way to honor the fallen player is to wish good health, team spirit and peace to the family for this week i choose not to comment on top-tens,whose better than who , and in the spirit of competiton may ALL who participate be safe, stay healthy and god bless…………………MR TELLES RIP and to the family MY HEART IS WITH
where in the stats this morning were quesadas 185 yds or cody clements 200+ passing yds.at least you got barts 3 tds in . does a win this week over south hills [n#2 in repective cif div count for something.just want to know
Im excited for…
Tustin vs. O’Lu
Servite vs. Crespi
and for the upset in my opinion trabuco hills over San Clemente
Pac-5 football better watch out … this division is clearly moving up and has some of the best football being played in the country/county.
To anyone that missed that Cypress-Mater Dei …
You must a great game!!!!!!!!!
Mater Dei is down … but its still MD … and Cypress is the real deal …
They probably have the best special teams in the county and a very solid offense with that junior quarterback Zach Ortiz. They can be a very dangerous squad. On D they are a little under sized though.
Valencia is very overrated and i don’t expect them to finish higher then third in their respected league.
Lastly- GO TRABUCO HILLS and GO TUSTIN! take down that Pac-5 division
is this the year the pac5 oc teams are shut up?after preseason is over , dont want to hear anymore bull about d-3 stepping up and playing the big boys. just look at college landscape over 1st 2 weeks. boise over oregon , byu over okla, houston over oky st,central mich over msu, kent state beating mizzu untill final moments, oh and jackson state over florida state. so bring it on big boys the war has started.
3rd place. I dont get it, why arent they ranked up there. I played with these guys and they are all studs!!!!!!!
4 century league teams in the top 10, are they a league to be reckon with this year?
Century league has always had quality teams, the best league in the division though??
Maybe!!
Game flying under the radar, Norwalk vs. Pacifica, battle in the trenches who will be victorious??
Is this a joke??
Cypress is not in the top 10.
Just lost any type of respect for this ranking system.
look at all the one loss teams on that top 10.
Cypress is a one loss team too.
CYP lost to MD in an amazing game by 5 points in the last minute…but I can totally understand why all those other teams are ahead of the Centurions.
This is a JOKE!!
The best two teams in the division are Tustin and Trabuco, they have a lot of returing players, especially Tustin who has half there team are all league and all C.I.F.
Sorry but im sure the defending champs have a lot to say about that.
Trabuco and Tustin will show the who they really are this week.
You can say they are the two best teams but until the top dog falls they are the best team in this division ….
they are the class of this division ….
WeWe 54 well your on the right tract but look for Trabuco and La Habra showdown hopefully, last year the best game i seen all year with La Habr escaping with a V at home but boy was it closer than even i expected, and I being a Highlander Fan for sure i see these 2 football programs runnin neck and neck but if Clements plays like he did opening night and that young but very very ball hungry group of linebackers for La Habra improve each week as they will La Habra in a close one but could go either way, Tustin not in the mix as top 3 , no depth, not enough mix in the O and will not win their league.
cypress you need to stop complaining! thats all you guys ever seem to do!! especially after we ruined your “perfect” season a couple years back. sit back and let the real teams play!
This is ridiculous.
dippin32…i love how you live in the past. (a couple seasons back)
probably cuz you havent done much recently..
seriously…what does cypress have to do to get some respect??
win a CIF championship?? compete down to the last seconds with Mater Dei?? Go undefeated and win the empire league title outright??
Oh…wait…we already did all those things…didnt we?!
LINE SIX FOOTBALL will have to prove everyone wrong again this year like we ALWAYS do!!
As a Cypress Fan and Alumn, respect has to be earned, not given.
Did we win a lower level CIF championship? Yes, but winning a lower level championship doesnt mean respect. Especially just one.
Did we compete down to the last seconds with Mater Dei? Yes
Should we have won? Yes, we missed our opportunities.
We did go undefeated last year in league! But, that was our first in a long long time.
Does Valencia hate to play us? Yes, they dont like playing us and thats why they chose not to two years ago. Ya, you can blame it on the yorba linda fire but CIF cleared everyone to play and they wanted no part.
Cypress has accomplished a lot since the hire of Ray Fenton and are making great strides. This without a doubt was a losing school and had a losing tradition. Kerry Crabb didnt have his stuff together.
We are on the raise, we are slowly earning respect around the county and Fenton is slowly turning this program into a winner.
But, back to what you were saying Orange and Blue. Great teams win football games when there seems like there is no chance. Great teams put teams away when they have too. Cypress is two games into the season and well we didnt put mater dei away when they gave us the opportunities. we didnt earn the respect. Heck we played our hearts out but we didnt win. Bottom line, we havent earned anything yet. As the season goes on we will. You can count on it!
True champions dont care about respect, they just show up and take care of business.
My point being…there are 5 one-loss teams in the top ten this week. There is no way you can tell me that all five of those teams lost to teams better than Mater Dei. That part of it has nothing to do with respect, just simple logic.
cypress can u guys just shut up and stop crying already u guys are not that good.. valencia will win the empire league this year ..trust me on that ..pacifica is good but they have a new coach just watch the tigers surprise people this year!
Would love to see Valencia play Mater Dei and see how that one turns out.
Actually…We can’t wait to play you guys this year, since it is one of our easier games of the year, its a guaranteed win. Did we beat Valencia last year?? We must have seeing that Cypress went undefeated in the Empire.
Hopefully you guys don’t decide not to play us this year just like you did two years ago. Tigers runnin’ scared!!
