Corona del Mar, ranked No. 2 in OCVarsity.com’s preseason girls tennis top 10, is traveling to participate Friday and Saturday in the California High School Classic in Fresno.
Coach Brian Ricker is bringing three teams to the 96-team tournament. CdM’s top team is the No. 1 overall seed for the Division I, 16-team bracket.
The Sea Queens captured the tournament in 2007 and finished runner-up last season. CdM’s No. 2 team won Division II last year.
The format features 4 singles and 3 doubles, with each match being two out of three sets (tiebreaker for 3rd set).
