ROCK ON ELMO!!!!!
Go ELMO!!!
Hey Dan,
Our high school plays San Clemente this year. Why the big jump to #3? And why is Servite so low? Looks like the Trinity League (4) and South Coast League (3) are well represented in the top 10+ poll. How do you find out what coaches vote for the poll? How long will the Trinity League stay in D-II?
Definitely need to swap San Clemente and VP. That is still doing SC a favor unless they recruited a couple Hungarians no one knows about.
Let’s try this for DII Rankings:
1. MDHS
2. JSerra
3. R.Poly
4. VPHS
5. LB Wilson
6. Servite
7. LCHS
8. SCHS
9. SMCHS
10. El Mo
Villa Park before Poly
Polo Fan,
You must not be a fan of the South Coast League. You only have San Clemente in the top 10. How many CIF games did that league win last year? I agree that the Trinity League will probably be very strong (again). I look forward to a fun year.
If i remember correctly, Santa Margarita defeted La Canada and Riverside Poly over the Summer. and not only that. How do they rank above servite in the Div. 2 polls, but are not top 10 in orange county?
You are correct…SM beat La Canada three times and Riverside Poly once….without one of their starters.
Over the summer, Villa Park defeated San Clemente, Riverside Poly, lost to Long Beach once without 3 of their 4 best players, and then beat Long Beach in the State tourney. Other than MD and JSerra in the top two spots the rest of the list way off. The list should look a little more like polo fan’s.
This is my take based on what I saw this summer:
1. MDHS
1. JSerra — a toss up with MD
3. LB Wilson – will beat VP based on experience
4. VPHS
5. R.Poly
6. LCHS
7. Servite
8. SCHS
9. SMCHS
10. El Mo
I am surprised that San Clemente is so high …. Dana Hills beat them twice over the summer. I do believe the Tritons will be improved from ’08
As for Trinity League – they could be moved to Div. I next time divisions are reconfigured
Agree with you Dan about San Clemente-they are big and physical but not as skilled. A team with good skills should control them.
Dan, Please tell me reconfiguring for D1 will be next year!! It’s time for Trinity to go now.
hummm
Next year is the start of a new 4 year cycle for all the legues in the SS. Many teams will be moving to different leagues and several leagues will be moving to different divisions. You can expect to see both the Trinity league and the probably the Century league move up to DI. The Trinity league has certainly earned the opportunity and the addition of Foothill and Esperanza to the Century will move them up as well.
dana hills did beat san clemente twice over the summer and should be above them. mater dei and jserra are 1a and 1b . riverside poly and wilson should be 3-4 and the rest should be evaluated after some games have been played. 3 for san clemente is way too high!
how can troy be ranked #2 in division 5 and get drummed by damien 17-1?????????
Haha sc was getting killed by irvine??in a summer game till there coach took out the starters how are they top10?
You guys need to quit bagging on SC, they went to Hungary over this summer and all their players increased in skill. They only lost to J serra by 2 and lost to Dana due to not having all starters. SC will be a force to be reckoned with this CIF.
Elmo beat Dana Hills once this summer and again today at the Conejo Classic just throwing that out there
dana did beat san clemente twice with all sc starters their. at least the ones that matter and sc did lose to jserra. it was 10-7, but hewko was out with broken finger and they just got back from a stanford tourney and had 6 tough games over the weekend with only 1 sub. sc is definitely improved and jacob mourer is a legit player. the rankings mean nothing at this point and thank goodness there is cif to decide it!
“the rankings mean nothing at this point ” Yep.. It’ll be weeks before th poll is really valid.
CIF, dont forget the second time sc played JSerra and lost by about 10 goals
Why wasn’t garret glore in the stats yesterday? Is he still at Jserra?
garret is still at jserra. why he missed is news to me
