
Some of Orange County’s top girls’ soccer players will be looking to bring home a youth soccer national championship next month.
The Southern California Blues Girls Under-15 and Under -16 team both qualified for next month’s US Youth Soccer National Championships.
The Under-15 team advanced by knocking off Phoenix’s Sereno White Under-15 team 3-1 to claim the Far West Region IV Championship.
They were led by 2009 Golden West League Offensive Player of the Year Mikhaila Bowden of Ocean View, Danielle Spriggs of Dana Hills, and Edison’s Nikki Fedele, who tallied goals for the Blues.
The Under-16 team coached by Aliso Niguel girls and boys coach Randy Dodge will also compete for the title, defeating Northern California’s De Anza Force Blue Under-16 team 2-1 in the Regional title match.

Santa Margarita’s Lauren Bohaboy and Mater Dei’s Amanda Dudley provided goals for the Blues, who also feature El Toro’s Emily Goldstein, a first team all-county selection last season.
The 2009 US Youth Soccer National Championships will take place July 21st-26th at Citizens Bank Fields at Progin Park in Lancaster, Massachusetts.
