
Former Brea Olinda superstar Jeanette Pohlen was one of 12 players selected to represent the U.S. in the 2009 World University Games from July 1-11 in Belgrade, Serbia.
Pohlen, a three-time Girls Basketball Player of the Year from 2005-07 while at Brea Olinda, averaged 10.7 points and 3.8 assists per game during her sophomore season for Stanford. She was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshmen team as a freshman and made the All-Pac-10 second team this past season.
Jantel Lavender of Ohio State, Maya Moore of Connecticut, Kayla Pedersen of Stanford, Tina Charles of Connecticut, Alexis Gray-Lawson of Cal, Tiffany Hayes of Connecticut, Ashley Houts of Georgia, Danielle McCray of Kansas, Jacinta Monroe of Florida State, Ta'Shia Phillips of Xavier and Danielle Robinson of Oklahoma were the other players selected to Team USA.
