
The wait if finally over for the San Clemente boys soccer team. After 22 years the Tritons have at last won the Watts Summer Games. They posted three consecutive shutout victories on Saturday on their way to the championship
San Clemente went 6-0-1 during the tournament, allowing just one goal in its seven games. On Saturday, the Tritons edged Westlake, 1-0, in the quarterfinals; beat Wilson of LA, 2-0, in the semis and then cruised past Banning, 2-0 in the finals. Steve Palacios, who was selected the tournament MVP, scored two goals and added two assists for the Tritons, who scored a total of 13 goals during the Watts Games.
