Irvine’s Ani Gulugian and Sunny Hills Kristen Park both finished with a two-round total of 147 in sectional qualifying in Santa Cruz and have earned a spot in the U.S. Women’s Open which will be held July 6-12 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Penn.

Gulugian, a member of the Register’s All-County First Team in 2008 and one of only to players to qualify for the state championship, shot rounds of 74 and 73 while Park posted a 73 and 74, and both players finished four shots behind first-place Kimberly Kim.
